I was more annoyed when they built a statue of him. I have this strange hate when I see these statues that are built for athletes and coaches such as Joe Paterno, Cam Newton, Tim Tebow, and guys who’ve died like Ron Santo. People think I’m a heartless bastard or a sociopath when I say that though hehe. Oh well. Seeing some kid who gets a statue because they won a few football games? Creepy…

They scored 1 run this weekend making it difficult to concentrate on all of those runs they’re going to score when they win the WS at some unknown date in the future. If there is anything the Cubs are good at it’s distractions.

Santo was a good baseball player, but not all HOF players are equally deserving. Santo waited 30 years longer than Larkin did to get acknowledged.

You know what I like the most about the retarded outfit called the Cubs? All the bullshit symbolism that they can think of. Take today for instance. Ron Santo gets inducted today, and these idiots trot out onto Busch Stadium all clicking their heals in unison like a bunch of goddamned dorks. Didn’t anybody tell them that when Santo did it IT PISSED PEOPLE OFF?!?!?! They all have #10 patches on their sleeves. Then they go out and completely shit the bed on offense. I fucking swear to god, all they fucking care about is money and symbolic fucking bullshit.

And I’m sorry if this pisses anybody off, but I have a hard time with Ron Santo even going in the Hall of Fame. I’m sorry. He was a good player, a good third baseman. But he was kept out for a long ass time, possibly because he pissed off so many people with the heal clicking and other shit he did. And he sucked on the radio. His goofy, diehard Cub fan, and “true-blue Cubbie” routine was cute and funny….for about 5 minutes. Then it got real fucking old. And annoying. I couldn’t stand Harry Caray for the same reasons.

I guess my point is in all this is that there is still far too much Fanboy Ricketts influence that is showing through. We still suffer through butchered renditions of “Take Me Out To The Ballgame”. Goddamnit, if you need to continue butchering that fucking song just play a tape of a drunken Harry Caray singing it. He did a good enough job of that. We still have to suffer through that goddamned “Go, Cubs, Go” after every home win, despite the fact that this team actually blows, and now all this undo fawning over Ron Santo finally getting into the Hall. Something that he lobbied for for years in an incredibly distastful manner. If you don’t believe me, just watch “This Old Cub”. I’m sorry, but this past week has really been too over-the-top for me, and it’s really pissed me off.
