Anybody else still glad that pieces of crap like Ramriez and Zambrano are gone? I still wish Soriano's sorry ass would have been dealt. Maybe no other team is dumb enough to take on his contract even if Epstein agrees to eat most of it.

chucky, I have complete faith in your ranting abilities.

Mike, hopefully Keith returns in time for baseball. Since Fro isn't writing about the Cubs, additional contributions will be needed as I'll be very part-time at best...

Scott, I'm also glad to see you taking the time to contribute with Fro. Is Keith still around? Anyway, I'm ready for baseball. My Badger hockey team is below .500 and will undoubtedly not make the NCAA tourney this year, unless they win the WCHA Final 5 in St. Paul. They lost to Denver U. last night 3-0 for their 5th loss in a row. Badger hoops will make the Big Dance but unfortunately will either lose in the first or second round when their 3 point shooting goes cold and the other team gets hot. Like just about every other year; live by the 3, die by the 3. I'm expecting nothing out of the Cubs this year; as a matter of fact, I've been quite detached the past 2 years out of sheer disgust with the ineptitude of Moe, Clown Kenney and FanBoy. Theo and company and Dale Sveum, I think, will get things going in the right direction. I don't know if it will be enough but I'll withhold judgement until some form of stupidity or progress emerges. It sounds like, at least from the reports on the Score, that there are improvements being made to The Urine-soaked Cathedral to Losing Baseball, so there's a start. I heard a rumor, albeit unconfirmed, from an old friend of mine from my minor league days who lives a block from The Cell, that the Cubs may play there for a year, so that extensive renovations can be made at Wrigley. I still say blow it up, if for no other reason than to piss off Al Yellon and the rest of the sheeple.

On another note to Jimmy D., thanks for sharing about your health issues, seriously. I just turned 53 a week ago, and I've had some health concerns lately myself; high blood pressure, odd pains I haven't felt before. I really need to get my sorry fat ass in to get things checked but keep finding reasons/excuses not to. At least I'm eating better and cutting back- a little- on my craft beer consumption. So many good beers in Wisconsin, and so little time. I've actually had the pleasure and honor, in the past month, to meet the owners and/or brewmasters at O'so Brewing in Plover, Lake Louie Brewing in Arena, and Potosi Brewing. Meeting these guys, was as much an honor as it was meeting my athletic idols as a kid!

Well said genre. I'm happy to see that you are contributing to the site like this. I'm sure I'll be able to respond with some decent rants!

I actually don't have any big or major expectations about this coming Cubs season. I think it should probably take most of this season for Dale Sveum to get his sea legs firmly under him. So I probably won't really go off on him all that much, unless Sveum proves to be a complete jackass. I will say this much: I think a lot of the bullshit that was going on in 2011 went out the door along with Mike "Dr. Evil" Quade. If Sveum starts giving nicknames to people like Quade did I'll probably blow an artery. I hope that with the arrival of Epstein, Hoyer, and Sveum that some professionalism will return to the Cubs. I DO expect to see that change right away. And I'll be ranting like a madman if that doesn't happen.

Stay tuned people. This could be interesting!
