This thread will be for the entire week. And hey, if the Bears find a way to win on Sunday, that will give them four wins on the season!

I’ve got to tell you something Fro, that’s kind of concerning to me. Last Sunday I decided to play the post-game show from Thursday nights Bears shitshow(I didn’t catch it that night because I was ready to crash and burn for the night), and I was astounded by the utter stupidity of the goddamned yahoos, hillbillies, and toothless hicks who called in with their boring, nonsensical, and flat out dumb stories that night. Jesus fucking christ! I felt really bad for Hampton and OB! They had to sit there and listen to “Toothless in Manteno” relate some half assed story about “My great grandpa watch you play in 1958, or some such garbage. I have a message for all of you hillbillies calling in with your stupid bullshit stories: NOBODY GIVES A FLYING FUCK ABOUT YOU OR YOUR GREAT GRANDFATHER SEEING ANYBODY GODDAMN PLAY. If you have question, ask it, THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!! I have got to tell you, it might have been one of the worst shows I’ve heard in a long time, and it had absolutely nothing to do with Hampton or O’Bradovich. In fact, it might have been Dan Hampton’s finest show. I’ve never heard him as fired up as he was. I’m just sorry he had to deal with some real dumb motherfuckers calling in for the sole purpose of telling their personal stories. It made me fucking sick. I hope to hell that not all Bears fans are that goddamned stupid.

You know, I heard some of that crap that night as well as in the past.
Those stories are just the worst. Like Hampton cares if you walked past him in 1988 at a restaurant in Schaumburg? He’s not going to remember that. I’ve only called once over the years and the sole thing I said before making my point was that it was an honor to speak to them. Then I proceeded to say something about how the defense can never stop anyone when it matters most. To this day, that is still true.
And yes, Hampton was talking like the Bears had just lost. Good for him. He eats, sleeps and breathes that franchise and they broke his heart. I feel so bad for him as well as O’Bradovich. Just imagine that the franchise was actually competent when you played and after you leave, it turns to garbage. That’s basically what it has been.
I have very early memories of Ditka coaching as he was fired shortly before I turned seven. Sadly, I remember his days with the Saints and that was hard to watch. But as you and many others over the years have said, the day they fired him was the day the team never recovered.

Fro, I think we all have our stories to tell. I think I shared mine here with guys before. There is a huge difference between sharing a quick memory of something with our favorite teams, or players, and calling into a radio show and boring the living hell out of the listeners, not to mention the hosts. These callers make me embarrassed to even call myself a sports fan.
If it’s OK, I’ll give you the Reader’s Digest condensed version. December 23, 1990, myself and some friends went over to Walter Payton’s 34’s to watch the Bears vs. Tampa Bay Bucs. At halftime I met Otis Wilson. Shook his hand and got his autograph. That man had the biggest hands I’ve ever seen! That’s it. I’ve probably put you to sleep.
Mama boy’s Otis. Hell of a nice guy to, especially with all of us drunk fans!
