This is what the Bears are paying the president of the team to do. Not go find a competent general manager (the juror is still out on Poles). But instead, keep trying to to get Arlington Heights to lower taxes for their property so they could build a stadium that would take everyone six hours to get to. And even then, he isn’t getting what we wants. I’m sure he will pout like a baby.
For those who have driven around Route 53 just north of 90, you would know that it’s a nightmare just trying to exit off somwhere close by at 1:00 on a Tuesday afternoon. There is no fucking way that expressway can handle 20,000 vehicles at minimum plus public transportation within a few hours on a Sunday.

It’s amazing how other NFL teams are able to get new stadiums and whatnot by hardball owners, while the Bears meanwhile are consigned forever to the Mistake On The Lake. Ah, no use bemoaning about the Eyesore On The Lakeshore, the NFL would probably have eventually told the Bears that it no longer meets their standards and they’d have to do something about it if they didn’t want TV blackouts. So…you get what you get.

Contrary to what people on the radio say or other fans, Soldier Field is just fine the way it is. The renovations 20 years ago were so the place could last another 40-50 years. I can park 20 minutes away in Chinatown for free and walk there (parking near the stadium is anywhere from $30-$100).
Fuck this new stadium that will take everyone four hours to get into. Focus on winning the Super Bowl.

Building a new stadium is unnecessary, but it’s clearly a great distraction.
