Again, nothing I am saying in this recap is different than any other one I’ve done in the 16 years when shit was rough. It’s not that they lose. It’s how they lose. And tonight, it was just garbage from the start. “Vintage Chicago Bears.” This game was shitty on every level. Zero positive signs of improvement. Yet, there they were with a chance to win the game at the end and they promptly pissed it away.
Defense – You cannot tell me this is “just football” when they give up points not only on the first drive of almost every game, but also right before halftime. Seriously. I would say in the last 50 games, they probably gave up points either on the first drive or right before halftime 30 of those times. That is BAD. The amount of third down conversions that an opposing team gets on this team all of these years is fucking annoying. It’s lead to points.
Offensive Line – This line is absolutely attrocious. They can’t protect anyone. This team can’t run. And how many fucking penalties is Darnell Wright going to have? Fuck this useless turd. And I know already know where this is going to with Caleb Williams. But the line could at least protect him so he can take his time overthrowing a receiver or throwing an interception.
Caleb Williams – Read above. I don’t fucking care. It’s back to finding a quarterback next year. He’s overthrowing/underthrowing receivers and racking up interceptions. I’ve seen enough.
Two games in and I’m already exhausted. It’s just fucking exhausting. But hey, Kevin Warren is working his hardest to get a new stadium. Like that is going to be magically make this team better. Matt Eberf-LOSE needs to go.

That O-line is horrendous, you’re right about that, Fro Dog. Another thing, too: when are we ever going to have a game-winning drive? I know they’re hard, but seriously. The Bears have not been able to muster a game-winning drive since Cutler. Every one since then ends like this. Sheesh!

Looks like the same old , there isn’t hope for this team as long as the McCaskeys are the owners !!!

New season, new coaches, new hot shit QB, SAME MOTHERFUCKING BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FUCK THIS GODDAMN TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caleb Williams will be out for an injury if he keeps taking hits like that. And of course all of their false starts only hurt.

I’m done with this Mcaskey owned team, things don;t EVER change just the faces !!

I’m listening to Ed and Dan tear the so-called coaches a new one !! They should be running the Bears !!

One thing I didn’t put in the recap: The Bears gave up points on four of the first five drives of the game (16 points). I don’t care what team is on the other side of that. If any team does what the Bears continiously do like that, they rarely come back to win.
This defense needs to stop being “Jekyl and Hyde” by putting together four full quarters of defense. No, I don’t expect a shutout. But this shit is absurd.

Nobody is going to agree with me, but that’s okay, it’s why we are here. Point blank, full stop; if a defense holds a high powered offense to under 20 points including only one touchdown, they played their asses off and did an outfuckingstanding job! Leave the defense alone, its not their fault the Texans have a kicker that can’t miss from long. This loss is on the O-line and coordinator. Get a free agent or something, Bhaktiari is available.

Tell me if this fucking bullshit sounds familiar.
Matt Eberflus: Bears have a ‘great process’ for challenges (audacy.com)
Jesus fucking christ, when the fuck are we going to be free of this goddamned horseshit?

Dave,
We love you man. The issue is that again, the defense gave up points on four of the first drives. Yes, they only gave up a field goal in the second half. But this is the second game in a row where they were horseshit in the first half and better in the second. It needs to be consistent throughout the game.
We all know the offense is shit. But it’s also hard to get something going when the defense is putting them behind early and often. Both sides of the ball need to stop fucking around and just simplify things.

Even a number 1 ranked defense gives up a touchdown once in a while, and the Bears are currently ranked 8th. Also, place kickers are only going to get better as time wears on, in another 5-10 years we may see kickers coming through the pipeline capable of scoring from near midfield. According to Pat Mannelly, there are specialized scholarship programs starting for boys as young as 10 years old who are interested in football and are focused on kicking and long snapping. It is common thought that if defenses can keep opposing offenses out of the endzone on the majority of drives, and holding them under 20 points they are doing their job as a unit. I will not come down on the defense after they held two straight teams under 20 points to open the season, also they have allowed zero second half touchdowns in both weeks. The defense is fine and they are still improving. By the end of the season, they’re likely to be in the top 5 of the NFL. Even if Eberflus sucks as a head coach; and he probably does, his defensive play calling seems quite solid and he’d be a great DC if he’d accept the demotion back to the job he had before.

He’s not getting demoted back to DC. Having the previous head coach on staff is a massive conflict of interest for any incoming head coach.
