I know some may want to wait until a few games in to see how things go. For me, it’s “business as usual” with this franchise until they prove otherwise. The faces may change in terms of management and players. But the results, as it’s been since I can remember, have remained the same. I’m over this losing. I am not here for a “I think they’ll go 8-9” like many on the radio have said. If you’re a real fan, you want them to win more. You want them to get into the playoffs and have a legitimate chance to contend. Again, we’ve yet to see this on a consistent basis.
As it usually goes, another “fuck you” goes out to Roger Goodell for adding more games and continuing to produce “overkill” by having Christmas games as well additional international ones. Fuck him and anyone else who contributed to that.
Now, onto the schedule. Where do they win? What about the losses? Last year, I had them at 7-10. Way too generous as they went 5-12.
I know some may find me insane for this. But really, four wins is all I see. Cowboys, Saints, Giants and on the last game of the season, Lions. And I say that because I feel the Lions will rest some players as they would be preparing for the playoffs. And of course, I see them finding a way to lose about four other games just like last year.
But hey, if this team wants to make me look stupid by getting into the playoffs and winning the Super Bowl, they can feel free to.

Well, considering how many times I’ve heard this is the second toughest schedule out there, 4 games might be generous. What I’m going to look for is if the asshole McCaskey family will continue to interfere with the coaching like I’ve said a million fucking times. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least. And I’ll also be looking to see just how much Caleb Williams regresses this year.

CHUCKSTER!
Sorry for this delay. My life has been hectic lately. Finally have some days off work today and tomorrow (and possibly Thursday).
This franchise keeps proving it’s top priority is a new stadium. This shit is so damn back-and-forth. And people I talk to keep reading the internet thinking it’s a done deal because they saw “reports” on it. Those “reports” are from people claiming to be sources when they are actually basement dwellers.
Fuck Arlington Heights and it’s horse shit traffic. It already seems to take me two damn hours to get there on a random Tuesday afternoon. Imagine an NFL game going on in that same area on a Sunday morning. Fuck that.
I park my car in Chinatown and walk 20 minutes (all of this is free). That way, I don’t have to sit in traffic for hours before or after a Bears’ loss.

Fro, you sure picked some shitty days to take off work. With my arthritis the cold and damp weather have me seized up like a rusty gate.
Just like Chicago weather, if you’re tired of hearing about Arlington Park as a/the future site for a bullshit stadium, just wait till next week. They’ll be talking about building something on the lakefront again.
I went to Arlington a couple of times, had people picking the horse I was betting on, I was that lucky. I went there with around $20 in my pocket, and that’s exactly what I left with. Oh yeah, I also left totally bombed out of my skull, too!
Quite honestly Fro, nobody could pay me to go down there and watch another game until this goddamn franchise demonstrates to me that they’re serious about winning a Super Bowl title. Plus, I don’t trust any of the crazies in Chicago and I’m not willing to fucking get shot to watch a goddamned football game. I don’t believe that the Chicago police have been given the necessary tools and equipment they need to combat the violent crime there. I’m sure they are well meaning and try their hardest to protect everyone. It’s something else that I don’t trust, and out of respect for you Fro, I’ll simply leave it at that. I hope you understand, Fro.

I’ve been frozen/puzzled at everyone making a big deal about Caleb Williams not wanting to play for the Bears before being drafted.
I mean, should we be surprised? I think many said before that draft that he may not want to come here. We can’t blame him for feeling that way.
If the Bears knew how to handle any kind of adversity (they have yet to display that ability in recent memory), they would have Poles and Williams both speak out on this. Don’t sweep this shit under the rug. Just admit the truth and move on. None of us logical fans are upset that he didn’t want to get drafted.

I know this is very much a Bears page now, but is anyone interested in talking about these Cubs? Yes pitching is a problem but the offense is bailing them out more than half the time. The Cubs are dangerous and are probably one or two mid-season trades from running away with the National League. Two Cubs players keep trading the MLB lead in RBIs. Seiya Suzuki and Pete Crow-Armstrong who is now getting national attention being mentioned on other teams broadcasts! The Cubs are on pace for over 950 runs this season and hitting double digit scores frequently.

Dave, the Cubs have been fun to watch, what little I’m able to see them because I don’t have cable, but also a bit nerve-wracking, because as you said, the pitching has been a train wreck. But I’ll reserve judgement until after the trade deadline to see where they’re at, and what moves they will make. I’m still not sold on Jed Clampett/Hoyer. Why the hell isn’t Kyle Tucker locked up long-term? Why couldn’t they see that Ryan Pressly has nothing left in the tank? Why didn’t they work on Justin Steele’s mechanics so that he wouldn’t blow out his arm again and have to get TJ surgery again? He’s rapidly turning into a left-handed Kerry Wood and soon be reduced to only one fan….Al Yellon. And I’m sure we all remember the letter that douchebag shit rat sent to Theo Epstein during his first winter here, begging him to sign a completely spent, broken-down Kerry Wood. But just in case you may have missed it, here it is.
An Open Letter To Theo Epstein And Jed Hoyer Regarding Kerry Wood – Bleed Cubbie Blue
This letter is disgustingly dripping with adoration and pandering that it makes me sick. Yellon has to be one of the biggest dorks walking the planet.

Kyle Tucker is not locked up long term because he wants to play out the season, to see how he feels, and see how the team does, that’s not the fault of the front office. And reliable sources (not Al Yellon) have already confirmed the sides have been talking. There has already allegedly been an offer upwards of $500M for 6+ years. Pressley is improving, only one outing hurt his ERA, and Palencia who has nearly Aroldis Chapman-esque velocity is currently closing games. The fact that the Cubs have likely played the most difficult part of their schedule already and are 12 games over .500 before June is not unlike 2016, and with more run scoring.
Genrebuster is the one who usually starts the Cubs discussion, though I have not seen him on here in a while.

Yeah, I’ve wondered where he’s been lately. I hope he’s well. And not just genre either. We’re missing a whole lot of people who used to be regulars around here. Damnit, I miss those guys. Fro, do you have any way of maybe getting in touch with any of our old frendts and regulars? I’d love to hear from some of them again.
Who is Tuckers agent anyway, that fucking Scott Bor-ass? That cocksucker is a goddamned bitch to deal with. The rest of what you said is a load of crap. Not from you, but from Tucker. He’s playing hard to want and trying to pick his team for next year. I hate athletes like that. What the hell ever happened to loyalty? It went the way of the dodo bird. And the way of these bullshit mega-contracts.
May 28, 2025 at 8:18 am
Tucker is not a Boras client, thankfully, that could make signing him less of a headache. He is under Excel Sports Management. A labor stoppage; probably an owners’ lockout rather than a players’ strike, is likely to threaten the opening of the 2026 MLB season, and one of the terms in the new potential CBA is apparently some sort of salary regulation in the form of both a floor and a ceiling. That will rein in some of these mega-contract issues.
