Anemic offense | Bears 26 Saints 14

by

Let’s be honest: If this was any other team the Bears played today, it’s a loss. It was 20-0 when it should have been 30-0.

This offense was absolutely trash. Ben Johnson is making shitty play calls and Caleb Williams doesn’t get a pass either. He made some really stupid decisions. There were occasions where he could have easily ran and instead, he’s out slinging the ball for an interception or a slinging it for an incompletion. The running game was working all day and when they should have ran it, they passed. It is inexcusable asking Jake Moody to kick four field goals when they had the ball in the red zone several times. Thankfully, that was the difference.

Credit to the running backs in Swift, Monangai and Johnson for getting some significant runs that extended drives. Swift and Monangai both had touchdowns as well. For Kyle Monangai, it was the first of his career. Props to Colston Loveland for making a catch on 4th down that sealed the game. Williams needs to be better for a full game.

The defense? Well, for the most part, outstanding. Forcing four turnovers (three interceptions and a fumble recovery). It’s too bad the offense couldn’t get going. Yeah, I am going to be pissed at them for taking their foot off the gas before halftime. A touchdown in less than a minute before the half and when the second half started, another one. Inexcusable. The defense bailed the shitty offense out of several bad situations.

One other thing I wanted to mention is the Bears got away with that false start at the goal line. This offensive line needs to play better. Too many penalties and I know the refs were trash once again. But Drew Dalman fucking up like that multiple times in the game could have been the difference.

This game was way closer than it should have been. The Bears should have been up 30-0 at halftime and win the game 40-10. Instead, this is what we witnessed. This team is fucked next week if Lamar Jackson is back for the Ravens.

Fro, you know what I think about what is going on with this fucking team. Out of respect for you, I’m not going to repeat it for the 639,454th time here. O’Bradovich made a really good point this afternoon. They’re struggling against some really shitty teams, and just barely squeaking by. They’re going to play some quality teams before too long, and if they put up the performance that we’ve seen the past few weeks, they’re going to get crushed. Don’t let the Ravens record fool you. If Lamar Jackson is healthy, he’ll eat the Bears defense for lunch, and he’ll crap them out by halftime. I don’t give a goddamn how much the defense and the d-line have improved. It won’t mean a fucking thing.

I hate the fact that I’d rather watch my Chucky DVDs on Sunday afternoons than watch the Bears. But it’s the truth. I’m really sick of pulling my fucking hair out over this goddamned (dis)organization.

    Chuckster!

I was listening to most of that postgame show and heard O.B. talk about that. The Bears have always had this habit of playing down to their competition.

And yes, Lamar coming back next week is not going to be good for the Bears. Want to hear something worse? Joe Flacco had a game-winning drive this past Thursday for the Bengals and the Bears play them in two weeks. These next two games are going to be extremely crucial. I don’t feel good about either of them.
