Yep. I am still pissed. This was a battle of who was the dumber head coach. Usually, I vouch for a coach who has won a Super Bowl. But this year, Nick Sirriani has displayed so much stupid. Thankfully, he out-stupided (I am not sure that’s a word) Ben Johnson. The Bears somehow held onto this game. It was primed to be a disaster if it wasn’t for the defense doing just enough to seal the deal.
How many fucking times has it been 2nd and 1 or 3rd and 1 with Caleb dropping back only to scramble around to throw it nowhere? Just this game alone, there were three or four occasions. This is called putting your team in a position to fail. This is called Ben Johnson being a fucking idiot. The Bears were driving up 10-9 and what happens? 2nd and short or whatever and Caleb throws an interception right into a defensive lineman’s hands. The Eagles were in prime position to take the lead until Nahshon Wright saved the day once again. The running game was working all day. They didn’t need to keep passing in those short situations.
Then late in the game, the Eagles score again with ease. Seriously, can’t the defense just put this full game together? They cannot keep doing this. Yes, I am happy Kevin Byard got an interception and Nahshon Wright getting that huge strip of Jalen Hurt’s on the tush push. The Bears should have easily had 20 points at halftime and at least 38 by the time the clock had all zeroes. Instead, we are seeing these games still be too close for comfort.
Nick Sirriani as mentioned, was the dumber head coach today. On the last touchdown the Eagles scored, he called for the two-point conversion. I had no doubt the Bears would allow the two points to be scored. And somehow, Hurts missed on that pass. Knowing how the Bears are, that two points gets scored and the Eagles get the ball back a minute or two later to take the lead. That’s how lucky the Bears are to escape this clusterfuck. If I am any of those players, I gather the other 52 guys and take Ben Johnson to the toilet to give him a swirlie for this stupidity.
The biggest game of the season is next against the Packers. First place will be on the line. Either stop this fucking chaos of stupidity or miss out on the playoffs. It’s Ben Johnson’s call.

It almost feels like Im watching a different game when I read these blogs. Dominant offensive line performance, spectacular running game. Have to pass occasionally to keep the defense guessing, and today passing accuracy was at a premium with 35mph+ wind gusts. Once again a rookie head coach unable to field all his starters gets a signature win in a very difficult road stadium. Wins are wins, they don’t have to be blowouts. Nine points is not a close game. Bears have clinched a winning season, and people claiming they’ve had no real competition can finally shut the fuck up.

I’ll tell ya something Fro, I’ll be goddamned if I can figure this fucking team out. I did expect a blowout. A Philadelphia blowout. What do we get? The Bears actually playing some pretty damn good football. Was it perfect? Hell no! Caleb Williams didn’t have a good game at all. And blaming it on the wind is bullshit. Soldier Field is windy. Get used to it. But it was quite fortunate for the Bears that the running game was so effective. If it hadn’t been, the Bears lose this game.

Dave,
Did you not find it frustrating on the first drive of the game that instead of just sneaking it up the middle, they had Monongai lined up far in the backfield? That gave the defense plenty of time to break through the line and sfuff him.
Then those several drives that stalled. Why are you passing on 2nd and 3? Other than the first drive of the game, the Eagles couldn’t stop the run at all. Forget the keeping them guessing thing.
And it was a closer game than that. If Sirriani doesn’t go for two, it’s 24-16 with the Eagles having the ball.

I don’t know about sneaking it whenever possible, Fro. The Bears did force a fumble off the Tush Push, and sneaks tend to be where a lot of QBs get injured. I liked how they could run the ball well, and that is a result of the perpetually ailing offensive line. As far as I can tell, their running game and their number of takeaways…along with finding outrageous ways to win games…is why they’re 9-3. But I think you all are right to be skeptical. This team is like the 2022 Vikings.
November 29, 2025 at 8:49 pm
Statistically, they should be 4-8 or 5-7. I’m happy to see them doing well, but they’ll be a one-and-done if they manage to make playoffs.

Hey, Fro, what if Ben Johnson’s birth name wasn’t Marc Trestman? What if it were Matt Nagy? XD Because this season looks a lot like how his first season did.

Who had the Bears as the #1 seed with 5 games to go on their Bingo card lol
November 30, 2025 at 10:44 pm
First place in the NFC!! Not since 2006 have we been this high so late. Even 2010 and 2018 pale in comparison.

Not me. I don’t think any rational fan had the Bears being first in the entire conference at this time.
The entire playoff scenario displays a fine line. The Bears can lose on Sunday and drop all the way down to the last seed. Only one game separates the first seed from the seventh.
This is why losing one game can fuck things up. Especially against a division rival. The next two games for the Bears are must-win just to have a chance to get into the playoffs.

A couple years back, Ryan Poles drafted an offensive tackle named Darnell Wright, when he could have drafted standout defensive lineman and edge rusher, Jalen Carter. Jalen Carter had maturity and behavioral issues outside of football which was one reason why the Bears did not draft him. While I understood that reasoning, many of us did not approve of the pick since pass rush on this team is a significant need. However, last Friday, Wright was making pancakes with Carter. Looks like he was the Wright pick, pun intended. Also credit to the coaching staff for developing him. Physical play is way up, and penalties are way down.

So, the next two games are must win for the Bears? Goddamn you Fro! You just gave me a really bad acid flashback because that piece of flaming dog shit Lovie Smith would say that they are NOT must win. Fuck, what’s that two-foot spider doing crawling on my living room wall? Man, I’m really freaking out now…….

Off topic, I know, but I thought you might be interested in this, Fro.
Ringside Tickets for WWE PLE Reach Shocking Price – Newsweek
Keep in mind one thing Fro: When I was going to AWA cards at the Rosemont Horizon with my late brother ticket prices were…….$20!!!!! Now we were not sitting ringside. We sat front row behind the first railing going up from the floor. Those were actually excellent seats, and we had no problem seeing the wrestler’s work. We even saw some guy, I don’t remember who, whiff a dropkick by at least 3 feet. These fucking prices are just utterly insane. I’m really getting tired of big ass corporations like WWE/TKO gouging the living shit out of us!
December 5, 2025 at 10:43 pm
Dave, you are correct. Darnell Wright was playing like complete shit early on in the season and has turned it around the last six games or so. I’ve been happy with the line as I really believe it’s been about 20 years since the offensive line was competent at the very least. There is still a long way to go.
December 5, 2025 at 10:44 pm
Chuckster!
It’s been really bad since after WrestleMania last year. TKO has been fucking everyone including myself. Of course, I’m a dumbass and still buy tickets. I try to find ways to save money.
I will be at Cena’s last match next week. Flying to D.C. on Friday. I won’t tell you what I paid. But I will tell you I paid four figures and the first number does not begin with “1” either. Fuck TKO.
December 6, 2025 at 1:57 pm
I’ll tell you this Fro, I’ll be goddamned if I going to spend that kind of money for a wrestling card. That’s just complete fucking bullshit, in my opinion. And I’ll do everything in my power to fuck over TKO by watching their PPVs on a bootleg website. Fuck them.
December 6, 2025 at 7:51 pm
Damn Fro, if you spend that kind of money and John Cena ends up tapping out… – Pie in the Sky (I’d post more but this log-in system completely screwed things up for me haha).

Pie,
What issues are you having? WordPress has made so many changes, that even I have trouble at times with posts and comments.
I am not as tech savvy as I use to be. But I kind of wish I knew how to integrate Disqus into this site rather than this system. It’s horrible.

Fro,
My posts don’t always show up after submitting them. Even when they do I think it takes up to 30 minutes for them to show up. I don’t know if they need pre-approved or what. I used to just provide my name & email but that stopped working. The log-in credentials keep making me re-login in 2-3 times as it tries to log me into an email I haven’t had in nearly a decade… maybe I just need to make a new account for this blog – Pie in the Sky.
