I don’t give a fuck about comebacks. It should have never gotten to that point.
Ben Johnson left nine possible points on the board in regulation. At the end of the day, this is on him. The defense fell apart when it mattered most in overtime. But again, it should have never reached that point. Caleb didn’t need to air that shit out on the final offensive drive. They were marching up the field with short yardage plays. This is also Johnson’s fault for not telling Caleb to do that.
These assholes put me in tears right before this. I went to hug my dog and basically apologize for yelling at the TV all damn night, season, etc while he was on the couch watching.
I am done posting for a while unless Ben Johnson gets fired. He should. He cost this team.

90% on Ben Johnson, boneheaded moves. All season we struggled getting a yard on 3rd or 4th down. The other 10% is DJ Moore quitting on that interception route.
As far as points, I’d say he left 6 because that first FG would have been around the 50 against the wind so I get why he went for it then. But the others are inexcusable.

Can someone please explain to me why in the actual fuck is Hampton and O’Bradovich are singing this goddamn teams praise.
I was damn near in tears myself, Fro. That last pass from Williams in regulation was a thing of beauty. UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE!!!! Then Williams shits the fucking bed and pisses it away with that stupid INT in overtime. Like I’ve said, the Bears have a lot of work to do this offseason. I am sure Johnson’s coming back. He probably shouldn’t, but he will.
OB just mentioned working on Williams’ accuracy. THERE IT IS!!!!!!! Repetition, and many of the thing’s OB suggested won’t work, however. Shorter passes, targeting the tight ends way more, and lessening the INT’s will boost his confidence, and that’s how he improves. Look, he’s a good QB. But he’s not a great one yet. Correct me if I’m wrong. If Johnson doesn’t do those things, Williams will just be spinning his wheels with this team. Simple as that.

I just saw a VERY interesting game summary on WGN (I have it on mute in the background). The Bears led in every statistic…..every single one, except for one…..turnovers. That’s one thing which is tied to accuracy, and one of the things I said Williams needs major help with.

We’re singing praises because this team did exceed expectations. Coaches that get a win in the playoffs in their first year rarely get fired. The Bears had a chance to win and Ben definitely made rookie mistakes leaving points on the board. That last INT is on DJ, he gave up on the route, though that play never meant to be called. The defense played one of their better games, and yes even Tyrique Stevenson was playing clean and very hard. The draft picks performed. Loveland, Monangai, and perhaps Burden as well; will probably see a few OROY votes coming their way.
I cannot and will not be disappointed.

Dave, I respect that, but this team does have serious issues. Williams’ accuracy, the defense, despite playing pretty damn well in this weather, and against the best offense in the entire NFL, etc. Not to mention they have a first-place schedule. I still have reservations for next year, and yes, I know he’s a rookie head coach, but he needs to get his head out of his ass with the play calling, or they’re going to be 9-8, or even 8-9. Hamp and OB were singing the teams praise is premature. I’m glad you’re hopeful for next season. I wish I could be.
And I don’t have any faith in Ryan Poles dancer this April either.

Fro Dog , I agree Ben Johnson lost the game by not kicking those field goals ,take the damn points and you win the game !! Ben is supposed to be a genious , what a joke !!

It’s kind of a benefit of hindsight conundrum. I recall all throughout last game hearing that the Bears would never win only by kicking field goals. That’s why they went for it so much. TDs will do it, not FGs. It’s kind of the same boom-or-bust mentality that characterized the Detroit Lions these last few years. I just hope Caleb Williams doesn’t end up like Josh Allen.

I will say that Seahawks team is scary and I think we would get cremated if we went to Seattle. Having said that, this was a winnable game, no excuses.
