Well, I have finally had a chance to sit down and write this. Life has been hectic lately. But this is one of the few happy things to talk about.
But it finally happened. The heartbreak of 2010 and 2014 finally went away for Team USA Men’s Hockey.
I waited my entire life for this day. I got up real early and was wide awake for this entire game. The night prior, I saw a game that was very fitting with the Illini blowing a 23-point lead and missing a bunch of free throws to lose. Sound familiar? Anyway, this hockey game was one of the craziest ones I’ve seen. I was confident about the team from the start. The women’s team beat Canada in overtime days prior for the Gold medal. I was ecstatic.
But this one was deeper emotionally. The women have won Gold in ’98 and ’18. So I’ve seen that. I wasn’t alive in 1980.
A team that was well-coached and had the chemistry. It’s a shame our other teams aren’t well-coached or have players who will actually do what they need to do to win a game.
I saw the Blackhawks win three Cups last decade. I saw the Bulls win all six as a child. This Gold that Team USA Men’s won is right up there. It’s my team. Hockey is the only Winter Olympic sport I watch. Basketball for the Summer games. I’ve seen Team USA Basketball win countless gold medals. This was the only one missing.
I’m happy I witnessed it.

Fro, I’m really happy that you got to see that game, and that it made you really happy, but I must confess that I’m really pissed at them. I won’t go any further than that out of respect for you. If you really want to know my reasons, email me and I’ll tell you.
How much are those tickets for Elimination Chamber going for? It sounds like highway robbery for the way you described it. You know that WrestleMania will be in Saudi Arabia next year, right? Did you hear that the Saudi’s practically offered the Rock a blank check to wrestle Roman Reigns? Fucking bullshit, that’s all I can say.

My understanding is that TKO forced WWE to jack up their ticket prices. Apparently they were having trouble selling tickets to this event due to overpricing, economy, and lackluster storytelling that has hurt interest in the product (probably some fans who left after Cena retired too).
I’ll leave the USA hockey for you two. I’m pretty sure that I know where that’s going (politics, AI). I’m staying out of that mess. Congrats to USA though.

I just got my Auston Matthews’ USA jersey in. Fits nicely and I had a few compliments since wearing it to work. Love it.
And I agree with both. I am staying out of the politics at this site with that situation. I am still ecstatic they won. It was 46 years in the making and no one can take that away from them.

Hey fro, I not sure, but I think I saw you at Elimination Chamber. There was a dude in WWE ref shirt near the railing, close to where the wrestlers came out from the dressing room. He had a different haircut than what I’ve seen with you before, so I wasn’t sure if it was you. He did look like you, even with the new haircut. If that was you, how did you enjoy the show? I thought it was ok, with the only surprise being Randy Orton winning his Chamber match. I expected Rhea Ripley to win her Chamber match, and I expected AJ Lee to win the IC title. The easiest match to predict was Punk beating Finn Balor. UGH! I can’t stand Balor, and now it looks like they’re going to turn him face. Heel or face, I can’t stand Balor. Never been a fan of his. But what are your thoughts?
