I believe that SorryONo batting leadoff is stupid…any chance that won’t happen this year?

  2. MadCityMac Says:

Genre, Lou is still the gelding of a manager, so you can bet SorryOhNo will still be in the leadoff spot. At least it looks like we have a new owner! One blip on the radar of shit!

  3. Dave Says:

It appears with the new ownership, the Peavy trade will be revived, especially since the Padres are targetting the Olson dude that the Cubs accquired for Pie.

  4. robert Says:

dave hendrytraded olesen for aaron heilman

  5. chucky Says:

    He sent Ronny Cendeno too

  6. robert Says:

ibet you he really was happy he got the guy he has been trying to get since after the 04 season

  7. ksmc2000 Says:

Most of Hendrys recent moves stems from a fetish that he has for Henry Aaron. He picked up Aaron Miles to replace DeRosa. Now he got Aaron Heilman to take Marquis place. All he has to do is get Aaron Boone, Aaron Sele, and Aaron Cook, and we’ll be all set.

  8. Dave Says:

Paul Bako is back to the Cubs.

I hope the team buyers FIRE JIM HENDRY!!!!

  9. genrebuster Says:

If the new owners are serious about winning, they will FIRE JIM HENDRY.

  10. chucky Says:

The story I’m hearing is that Ricketts won’t be spending very much money. I won’t be surprised to see some kind of fire sale. Wrigley Field will continue to crumble, and I think they might try shedding some payroll. Time will tell, but I think we all should prepare for the worst.

  11. genrebuster Says:

Can it get any worse? 101 years with out a WS Title and counting…PATHETIC.

As for $$$, spending big doesn’t always work (obviously). Whatever they spend, I hope Ricketts and his GM spend WISELY. A fire sale might be interesting…and it’s worked for the Marlins (twice). The Cubs have a few “A-Frauds” of their own, don’t they?

Robert, I bet you enjoyed the game today…what an ending!

  12. Fro Dog Says:

I wasn’t rooting for either team at the Super Bowl but I must say, that was a really great game. I do not think it was the greatest Super Bowl game but it was one of the best.

The Cardinals had a few chances to score especially at halftime but the Steelers came through. The best team did win.

  13. robert Says:

yes I did enjoy it….there have been 43 superbowls Pittsburgh has won 6 An average of 1 every 7 years….I will turn 36 in June I have seen 3 head coaches as a Steeler fan you know 1 less then this pathetic franchise has had since 2000…Makes me wonder how I can root for an orginization ran like the steelers and the cubs

  14. Nemo Says:

Rich Hill and Michael Wuertz have been traded in separate transactions. So we traded Hill (untouchable), Cedeno (untouchable), Pie (untouchable), DeRosa, and Wuertz (probably missing some trades here) and we got Aaron Heilman and a whole bunch of nothing. Instead of making these little piddly-ass trades, why the fuck did the Cubs not just trade ALL of the aforementioned to San Diego for Peavy? Jesus Christ, it’s not even pitchers and catchers reporting and I am already extremely pissed off!

  15. Dave Says:

Totally disagreeing with the Rich Hill move. That wicked-googly-throwing motherfucker is gonna be a 20 game winner someday. Just glad he is in the AL, so he can’t routinely kick our asses. Bad move, Hendry. Weurtz is not a bad pitcher either; double bad move, Hendry!

    Ricketts fire Jim Hendry!!

Oh, and the Cardinals got screwed by bad calls. Fuck the Steelers!

  16. robert Says:

how did the cardinals get screwed what game were you watching….all those non holding calls on the steelers d….espn showed an angle where roethlisberger crossed the goal line…the nfl admited they watched the replay of the warner fumble and it was a fumble…so how did the cardinals get screwed

  17. genrebuster Says:

I’m fine with Weurtz being gone, should have happened sooner IMOP.

If Peavy ends up a Cub–in part due to DeRosa–ok. Otherwise, that may prove to be another FUCKED UP Hendry move.

I won’t be surprised to see Hill, Pie or even Cedeno thrive elsewhere.

What does Hendry have to do to get fired? What a hack.

The “culture of losing” will continue as long as he has a job with the Cubs…just my opinion (happy to be wrong of course).

McFAIL is gone…Dusty is gone…time for a hat-trick…FIRE JIM HENDRY.

  18. The Ghost Of Leo Durocher Says:

goddammit, i’m tired of rolling over…time for a good old fashioned ass-kicking…Jimbo, meet me in the graveyard!

boo boo boo boo boo boo boo boo

  19. MadCityMac Says:

Good ol’ Dustfuck strikes again! The Reds signed Jackoff Jones!

  20. robert Says:

mad city they also signed daryl ward. as genre would say that one more chair (or in wards case 3 more) at dustys thanksgiving dinner

Is it just me or is Lou poised to leave the cubs in worse shape then he found them…. I mean getting rid of Pie cause he cant hit at the majors come on the guy has only 260 at bats..( they say he is out of options and has proven he cant hit at the major league level but he is only going to be 24 but yet we keep a 31 year old who has proven he cant hit worth shit you know fukudummy ( I think it is Japanese for overrated)

can we start calling him Louchebag

  21. Dave Says:

I really don’t think Lou had a hand in some of these bogus moves the Cubs have been making lately. If anything, he would put a foot up Hendry’s ass if ever granted the opportunity.

  22. ksmc2000 Says:

I’ve been scratching my head all winter to try to figure out what the fuck Hendry must be thinking. He said a 97 win team just needs a little tweaking. It seems like he unloadad close to half of the 08 roster, and still no Peavy.

  23. genrebuster Says:

    Here is what I think:

    1. Pie is very sound defensively. I would have given him another 260 at bats before I unloaded him.

    2. The DeRosa trade–at this juncture–was stupid. The guy came back from a poor playoff performance in 2007 and had a very solid year for the Cubs in 2008. If somehow he is involved in a trade for Peavey, then OK…but at this moment it just seems like another stupid, knee-jerk move by Hendry.

    3. Personal congratulations to Jackoff, you got what you deserve! I heard the turkey was a little dry last year…

    4. After watching Lou manage (?) the last month of September and against the Dodgers in the playoffs, Louchbag just might be appropriate…but let’s hope not.

I predict that the Cubs continue to be losers until Hendry is replaced. Hendry has proven over time that he is a loser and capable of horrible misjudgement: for example, he allowed Dusty Baker to remain with the Cubs 2 years longer than he should have (IMOP) and we all know how that worked out. He’s also proven again that spending large sums of money (unwisely? –see “Soriano, Fukudome”) doesn’t guarantee a championship. Of course, he is not alone.

All kidding aside, it’s amazing to me that Hendry is still GM, especially when managers who have been highly succesful — even won championships — are fired/pushed away.

    What has Hendry won?

I won’t be surprised to see the Cubs miss the playoffs this year, of coursaed I hope I’m wrong about that. But if it does happen, blow it up and start over…it worked for the Marlins (twice).

One more thing: Soriano is NOT a good choice for leadoff hitter, if anybody out there gives a shit or is paying attention.
