Seems like everybody is in a good mood today; I like that! I’m sure I’ll ruin my own mood when I turn on my car radio when I leave work in a couple minutes and get these complete idiots who are on Madison sports talk that I was ranting about in the last thread. But all is not lost! Going out to dinner with my oldest daughter, get a good nights sleep, short day on Friday, then off to the Plaza to drink my weight in beer!
Ernie, there is still talk, SERIOUS talk, about that idiot Ted Thompson signing Vick. I don’t care that he served 23 months in the hole, he’s just not that good, and a cancer to boot.

MadCity – If he does that he needs to be fired, along with Hendry. He can’t be that dumb … can he?
Cubs at Colorado? Get ready for another losing streak.
Erniesarmy, you took the words right out of my mouth in that last sentence. We will find out in the next couple of weeks where this team lies. Right now, it is a mix of the 2003 and 2005 teams. Inconsistency shows the lows but the crappy division shows that there still may be a chance. Doubtful however.
Ha ha! Like my Whiffenpoofs post? Yeah sorry I forgot the “h.” The Whiffenpoof Song is one of my father’s favorite songs to sing, especially the sheep part. So we talk about sheep on here, I thought I would post it.
Yeah I don’t have much faith against the Rockies either, but who knows. I won’t count the Cubs out this weekend.

will lou do anything except stand with his arms on the dugout railing
this one is for Fro…do you think the reason hendry failed to make a move for a bat is due to the fact he did not want to have his phone tied up in case Vince Mcmahon called and asked him to guest host monday night raw
I said a couple months ago on this blog that “I will be laughing when this team finishes 4th”. Well, back to 2nd place I see now. I think we will be in 3rd by Labor Day and dip to 4th when the season finishes.
Matt Stairs, I also predicted fourth place around April or May, and I never wavered from that regardless of their winning streaks and all.
Zambrano probably out for the season only confirms my prediction, although, with that news, they could finish lower than fourth.
This team simply has no leadership, either from the team, coaching staff, or front office. All it is is a bunch of mid-level prospects, a few decent players, and a whole lot of dead wood (cough, Soriano…cough, Bradley).
Only hope is a new owner who is a leader, and knows what to do.
Otherwise you’re looking at a club that is going to be consistently bad for a long long long time to come.
chucky if it is the same victor zambrano i am thinking of it would be a disaster the same type of disaster as dave smith mel rojas danny jackson doug jones type of disaster

robert, any of the above would be lovely…all 3 would be cause for extreme celebration.
The firing of Jim Hendry would trump them all….of course.
