Is This Miserable Season Over With Yet?

by

Before the season started, many of the so-called experts had the Cubs running away with the NL Central by up to 15 games. They were projected to win 92-95 games. After Hendry dismantled 41% of a 97 win roster, I couldn’t see where all the hype for the Cubs was coming from. My thinking was “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. They would have been better off if they would have left well enough alone.

On Opening Day, I saw this team at .500 at best. With 16 games left in the season, the Cubs will need to win 6 to guarantee a .500 record. Do you guys think that this team has 6 wins left in them?

    KSMC,

Not if their “gaspen” has anything to say about it. This single item (the bullpen) has been the Achilles heel of this franchise for years now. If that isn’t corrected, we will continue this miserable ride indefinitely. It’s pretty tragic that this team can’t buy itself a bullpen.

    Later,
    Jimmy D.

  2. robert Says:

Jimmy there are several things this team cant buy a lead off hitter we all saw what a leadoff hitter did in 03 then moe wont give him the time of day

    a bull pen

know this team is stuck with an idiot of a gm. A stuttering idiot of a manger

I know a lot of you are bear fans and I am sorry for what I am about to say. As a fan of the Pittsburgh steelers and seeing how they are ran makes me wonder how I root for pathetic piece of shit as on orginization

In retrospect, it was over before it started. Once again, thanks for nothing.

FIRE JIM HENDRY. FIRE THE BABYSITTER (Lawrence, the pitching “coach”).

DUMP MILTON BRADLEY. DUMP KEVIN GREGG. TAKE OUT THE FUCKING GARBAGE.

    tick tock…tick tock…102 years.

  4. chucky Says:

I want to repeatedly bash Carlos Marmol in the face with a piece of heavy mining equipment.

    Is that wrong?

  5. genrebuster Says:

No chucky…I understand exactly how you feel.

Wow…the gascan, er bullpen is truly on fire…what a miserable group they are! What a PATHETIC team…blow it up.

Hendry is a FUCKING BUM: if he had any balls he would resign now. If the Cubs had a real owner, he’d be fired. If, if, if. For 101 FUCKING YEARS.

Where are all the pissant sissie boys that have been insulting us here and defending this PATHETIC organization for most of the season? What do you think of the 2009 Chicago Cubbies now?

  6. erniesarmy Says:

Matt Stairs had a link to this on the other thread –

“The Cubs may be out of the pennant race, but they still lead the league in chaos, confusion and misdirection plays. It all began with rookie starter Randy Wells taking the blame for Thursday’s loss, admitting he “lost focus,” saying manager Lou Piniella “hit a nerve” with his criticism and calling his outing “pitiful.” Normally, that would be enough to stand on its own. But Wells’ mea culpa was just the appetizer. As Wells left, media relations director Peter Chase flicked the switch to the sound system, ending the interview session without manager Lou Piniella.

    “Where’s Lou?” I shouted.

Piniella had declined to talk, he replied.

Piniella not talking after a game is a rarity. He does it about once a year and already had used his mulligan for 2009. As the media horde wondered what was up with Piniella, it filed into the clubhouse and saw some colorful costumes hung in several players’ lockers. It was rookie hazing day, where Ryan Dempster buys goofy costumes for the rookies to wear on the team charter.

Of all the reams of evidence exposing this franchise for the pathetic losers of the century, this really takes the cake. Here they are losing game after game, Louser decides he doesn’t feel like talking, Bradley takes off (again?), and Dumpster wants to play dress up!!!!! WHAT IS THIS A PROFESSIONAL SPORTS FRANCHISE OR A LOONEYBIN?

No wonder they don’t win, they have no chance of winning, even if they had the talent. This is nothing more than a Junior High pajama party for morons.

If I’m Ricketts, I look elsewhere to spend my money. This franchise is hopeless. They aren’t going to win anything for the next 15 to 30 years.

And you can cut and paste that for later use Irish Betti, and all the rest of the sheep that come in here to try and defend this slop.

I would rather have the minor leaguers come up and play, than watch this. I really would.

  7. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

    Ernie,

I have been here preaching for the minor leaguers to get their call and see what they are made of. The season has been lost for a while now and it doesn’t hurt to see what if they have down there.

At least the young kids would want to be there to play and won’t try to waste their oppurtunity. The team assembled right now reeks of donkey crap.

  8. robert Says:

Bradley expressed his unhappiness to the Daily Herald, saying, “You understand why they haven’t won in 100 years here.”

He said he hasn’t enjoyed his first season in Chicago.

“Not really,” he said. “It’s just not a positive environment. I need a stable, healthy, enjoyable environment. … It’s just negativity.

well who brings that on where the hell else can u play cleveland the dodgers the padres the as where ever you have gone you have said the same shit

  9. chucky Says:

    Bradley can go fuck himself.

  10. erniesarmy Says:

Bradley expressed his unhappiness to the Daily Herald, saying, “You understand why they haven’t won in 100 years here.”
    ========================

Yeah, and you are one of the main culprits for why they will go 101 years.

Of course, with all those World Series rings you’ve won, you have every right to call someone a loser, right?

If I’m the manager, I tell this guy to go home for the rest of the season. I don’t care what management says, they could fire me, but I would want no part of this excrement near any of my younger players.

  11. erniesarmy Says:

Well, well, well, looks like someone was reading “Fire Jim Hendry” –
    …………………………….
    ESPNChicago.com
The Chicago Cubs have suspended outfielder Milton Bradley for the remainder of the season, following comments he made to the Arlington Heights Daily Herald about there being too much negativity playing for the Cubs.
“Recently it’s become intolerable to hear Milton talk about our great fans the way he has,” general manger Jim Hendry told ESPNChicago.com’s Bruce Levine. “We pride ourselves on having the greatest fans in baseball, so at this time we felt it was best for him to go home for the rest of the season.”
    …………………………..

I said this today at 3:28 pm –

“If I’m the manager, I tell this guy to go home for the rest of the season. I don’t care what management says, they could fire me, but I would want no part of this excrement near any of my younger players.”

Good to see Hendry is starting to listen to the best Cub Blog on the Web, “Fire Jim Hendry”! Maybe he’ll do the next best thing and resign!

  12. erniesarmy Says:

Just when you thought Hendry was growing a spine, the truth comes out –

“Hendry “growing a pair” would’ve been suspending him indefinitely for his run in with Piniella, thereby voiding the incentive that allowed him to have the 3rd year guaranteed (which we are stuck with now…considering Hendry actually helped him now YET AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! because he could’ve just punished him more by disabling him for the remainder of the season and making him more tradeable AND less expensive for us to trade)….Hendry…just plain overmatched in every facet of his job.” – Aaron (Chicago Cubs Online)

Just when you think you’ve gotten out, they pull you back in!!!!!!!!

  13. robert Says:

congrats bears fans hell of a game

  14. erniesarmy Says:

    Sept. 15 @ 11:07 pm I said the following,

“They will surprise a lot of people. I still am picking the Bears over the Steelers this Sunday.”
    …………………………….

    Bears 17 – Steelers 14

    Damn I’m good!

  15. chucky Says:

Good call Ernie. I honestly didn’t think they’d win.

Bradley has to be the dumbest motherfucker ever to play for the Cubs. And they’ve had some dumb motherfuckers in the past. What a fucking retard.

  16. jimmy d Says:

    Chucky,

I don’t even think that genrebuster will have issue with you pulling out the dreaded “retard” word when describing MB. If the shoe fits….

I’ve gotta say that I’m so disappointed with the whole fucking organization. We (the true fans that have watched and supported this team for decades now) deserve better than this. Jim Hendry? Your train is leaving the station. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Also, great W for you Bears fans. That’s gotta be a good feeling when the cards were stacked against you. Speaking of “cards”, let’s destroy the fucking retardinals tonight. I know it doesn’t mean a thing, but it couldn’t hurt anything.

    Later,
    Jimmy D.

  17. robert Says:

this sounds like something my three year old would say

“Jim made the decision and I support it,” the manager said. “I really do.

  18. robert Says:

what is the worse cub signing of all time

    1 Todd Hundley
    2 Danny Jackson
    3 Jaques Jones
    4 Todd Hundley
    5 Mel Rojas
    6 Milton Bradely
Before you say 1 2 3 4 or 5 remember this The cubs traded Hundley and got Erik Karros and Mark Grudzielanek
The cubs traded danny jackson and got steve buechelle
    Jaques was ok
Mel rojas we got 1 good year out of mark clark

    Milton is our winner

  19. Nemo Says:

good news on Bradley-but too little, too late. Both the Daily Herald and Paul Sullivan report that Bradley will not be here next year.

The Cubs have just been swept by the Cardinals-all three games being walkoff losses. Puh-thetic.

  20. Dave Says:

The game is not over. Illegal slide in to second base. What a strange play!

  21. Nemo Says:

Interesting. I am not actually watching, just saw the score on yahoo sports.

  22. Dave Says:

LOL Cubs actually won the game 6-3! Everything sort of fell apart after the big double play.

  23. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

I just found out about the Bradley suspension. How awful was this signing? Did Hendry not do his research on this guy? Most of us here KNEW he was going to be a bust. Only the sheeple were happy about this fucker.

If this costs Hendry his job, I am not going to feel bad for him. He was the one who dismantled this team. And if they trade Bradley, they are going to pay his salary anyway so if they release him, there won’t be a difference.

“You understand why they haven’t won in 100 years.” I know he was talking about the fans but I wish he said the franchsie. I would have still hated the guy but a player throwing the franchise under the bus would be the ultimate stab to the greedy fucks at the Trib.

  24. Nemo Says:

Asked whether he was talking about the fans, the media or even the Cubs organization, he replied: “It’s everything. It’s everybody.”

Bradley is a classic blame everybody else but me. What a fucknut.

Hey, the Cubs won that game. The Cubs did something a good team does-took advantage of a break and made the other team pay. Been precious little of that the last 101 years.

  25. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

By the way Robert, you forgot to put LaToya Hawkins on that list. But on your list, I still would take Rojas. I remember one game I was at when I was in college. I was sitting along the line when someone yelled toward’s the pen, “Hey Mel. How fat are you?”. That was the highlight of my day as I recall getting our asses whooped by about 10 runs.

  26. robert Says:

The only reason I did not make mel the winner is he got us mark clark who had one good year for the cubs…yeah but I remember several games where terry adams saved two games in a row riggleman kept saying rojas was his closer and he would come in and pull his kevin gregg act

  27. genrebuster Says:

Yes indeed: I think the “r word” is justified in this case for Milton…who is without a doubt a SICK & PATHETIC FUCK.

I read he is having marital problems (?), I don’t doubt it. You can’t get along with a personality like Milton Bradley. Now that Hendry finally had the guts–or got the green light-to suspend him, I see now that a few players are EAGER to talk about what a LOUSY, SELFISH, ENTITLED, FUCKED UP, teammate Milton Bradley was. There are some good quotes from Aram, Reed Johnson, Dempster and others posted on-line.

Good riddance. At least one LOUSY, STINKING BUM is gone. Better late than never…but still….TOO LITTLE TOO LATE.

So Milton is having marital problems (?). Too bad but no surprise. He obviously has a screw loose…hell, talking to him must be like trying to have a meaningful conversation with a drunk…it’s not possible. I can only imagine THE HORROR of having to live with such an entitled asshole.

If I’m GM there is NO WAY this guy is coming back to the Cubs next year.

If I’m the owner there is NO WAY that Hendry returns, too. TOO LITTLE TOO LATE.

    What a PATHETIC organization!!

  28. Nemo Says:

I am taking the cynical view that Hendry finally did this because he is acknowledging the season is over. If the Cubs still had a shot, I bet this doesn’t happen.

I too, read all the comments from the other Cubs’ players. I have been saying a long time how harmful this fuck was to the team, but certain people think that if there isn’t a sabremetric for it, then no harm exists. It is quite obvious how wrong that thinking is.

  29. E=mc2 Says:

I’ve just applied quantitative sabremetric theorems to Mr. Bradley’s psyche…the results indicate 1+1=0.

For you laymen, that means the angle of the dangle is wack.

After examining all evidence I have concluded the following:

Milton Bradley is a clubhouse cancer…to date, there is no evidence of a cure.

    Fondly, Albert

  30. robert Says:

mot to change the subject but ryne sandberg has said if another team calls he will answer it…wouldnt it be ironic if he took a job in the nl and that team made it to the 2010 ws against the yankess wouldnt that just be great

  31. Nemo Says:

    great work, Albert!

  32. robert Says:

way to name your article rosenbloom

Bradley’s gone, but he proved there’s a Hendry born every minute

  33. genrebuster Says:

Here’s that Rosenbloom article…I really enjoyed it.
