They are also reporting the POSSIBILITY of Marinelli being promoted to Defensive Coordinator. AND, possibly Joe Cullen (naked drive through guy) as Defensive Line coach.
Oh what do you know. It looks like the Bears are going to become the Detroit Lions in a few years. Marinelli and Cullen are sure moving up that ladder to what they were a couple years back.
Great news that Turner is gone but whose butt is Lovie licking to keep his job? Angelo’s? Then who does Angelo have in a liplock? What a joke. Money is always an issue, too.
The Bears are really giving the Cubs a run for their money…TRULY PATHETIC.
I hope they are telling the the truth when they say Lovie will be accountable if the Bears don’t win…
I will admit that I will soak this in for a few days, I am very happy that Ron is gone. But the bottom line is that Angelo and Lovie stay, and that means that we are fucked for the forseeable future.
That’s it for me and this goddamned, bullshit football team. Every one of them are lying cocksuckers.
To the entire McCaskey family, Ted Phillips, Jerry Angelo, and for some reason, mostly you Lovie Smith….FUCK YOU ALL AND DIE!!!!!!!!! I HATE YOUR FUCKING GUTS, ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From now on, as long as any of you lying motherfuckers are a part of this team, I’ll be cheering against you. No, I won’t just pick some other team to cheer for. From now on, my favorite team is whoever is playing against the Bears. You hear that you old bitch, Virginia McCaskey? I hope your entire family ends up poor, broke and destitute. FUCK ALL OF YOU!!!!!!
back in november someone said he wants 2 jobs the bears and the texans…gary kubiak is safe in texas… could this be a one year reprieve for ms howell and angela jerry so they wont have to pay them so much to get rid of them and to give full control of the team to bill cowher
He was just voted in to the Hall of Fame with 77% of the vote. Signing the blank check to play for the Cubs prior to the 87 season spoke volumes about the character of the person. He went on to win the MVP that year.
congrats hawk but as bowie kuhn said the day frank robinson was hired as the first black manager it is not a day to celebrate it is the day an injustice was corrected andre you should have been a first ballot hall of famer…unlike that last piece of shit who played your position you were class
Well, I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to shout out a HUGE congratulations to The Hawk. Long overdue (as has been the case for Ron Santo for far too long) and so truly deserved. God Bless you Andre, and thanks for being such a class act!!!
Later,
Jimmy D.
P.S. Happy New Year (a little belated) to all of my brethren here at the site.
Andre Dawson did not fit one of billy beanes credentials for a great player…you know that moneyball that preaches ops….taking a shit on the third tuesday of every month at precisely 2:45 PM you know that stuff stat geeks love….Milton Bradleys Ops was way better than Dawson but Dawson had the intangibles that that Nintendo baseball cant match….Andre stopped more runners going from first to third or second to home on a single….could steal a base…and for those Milton Bradley apologists who say he got a bad rap cause he got off to a slow start….Andre Started 5-47 in his cub carrer and was one of the most beloved cubs in history….
Here is a classic post from the wonderful 2006 season….enjoy!
Special Thanks to Mac and Fro!

FroDogs, you absolutely fucking rock! Pushing the envelope where it is needed my friend! Jimmy D., wondering if you were able to give Douchebag his very much deserved earfull with those great seats last night, and wondering if the brownshirts of the Trib (Andy Frain ushers; are they still there?) gave you the bum’s rush? Enquiring minds want to know!!
Okay, I’m on my (at least) 7th beer, and time to vent. Goodbye to Mark Prior (don’t forget the Vagisil pal!), Kerry Wood (not his fault, but how long must we wait?), Jackoff Jones (cutoff man? We don’t need no stinkin’ cutoff man!!), Juan Pierre (yeah, he’s leading the NL in hits, but down in the 40’s for OBP? Not acceptable! But a good outfielder; Murph thinks he’s headed to the Southside), Dumpster (do I even have to expand on this loser?), ARam (love his bat, WHEN THERE’S NOTHING TO PLAY FOR YOU SALARY WHORE!), Freddy Bynum (“can’t blow Dusty if he’s not the manager now, can I?”), Jim “Moe” Hendry (you gutless bastard; should have fired Baker at the A.S. break), andy macFAIL (I hate him almost as much as Baker; maybe more. A supposed “baseball man” who doesn’t give a rat’s ass about winning; only lining the pockets of his corporate masters – YOU FUCKING WHORE!!), Gene Clines, Sarge, Rottenchild, and the object of our unending vitriol, the Lizard, the toothpick chewing prick, Douchebag, shit-for-brains Dusty Baker!! What fun to hear the news on Monday that “his contract will not be re-newed because we feel the need to go in another direction”, i.e., “Dusty sucks dog balls”.
Guys, we need to keep this going somehow. I’ve gotten to know some of you as friends, most of you as fellow travelers in this insanity that we call Cub’s baseball. I hope someone picks up the ball and runs with it (Christ, can I use anymore metaphors here?) so we can continue as a community (Boycott, no offense!).
Dammit, out of beer! (and I gotta go to work Thursday!) Let’s keep this going, even if Bobby D bailed on us! Good night now!

Thank you for the smile and a real good laugh first thing on a very snowy Thursday morning. And thank you MadCityMac and FroDog. All of you guys kick ass!!!
Chucky, what you posted earlier was classic! I know you were pissed when you wrote it, but I was laughing my ass off reading that. Awesome post dude(Dust lingo). I know hoping someone dies or goes broke is not nice, but I know how you feel. It’s just a figure of speech (ok Yeti). I agree with you for rooting against them. I was rootingagainst them at the end of the season cause I knew if they finished good that they would find a way to spin that as a positive in keeping Lovie.
someone wrote about kerry he came back got healthy had 1/1/2 good years then we let him walk just so we would have money to sign milton bradley…I guess it wasnt so bad we ended up trading for a reliable closer….you know that goggled cocksucker kevin fucking gregg
Genre…thanks man! I’ll be on the look-out for them.
And thank you for the kind words Sandberg. I’m glad to know you knew my true intent with what I said. You are correct, I was royally pissed off when I wrote that rant. I just hope I don’t have to do it again. I may end up blowing an artery. And at my age it could happen.
Scott, thanks for the shout-out about that old post; I had completely forgotten about that! I believe it was sometime around there where you told me a should read Charles Bukowski. Along with trying to lose 45 pounds (35 to go; hope it goes fast-I can’t take this “on the wagon” crap much longer!), I need to pick up Bukowski. Any recomendations?
It’s amazing how creative my writing gets whem I’m absolutely hammered. You know what they say about great writers (or even okay ones like me!) and alcohol!
So I was looking at MLBTradeRumors.com and I see that someone has predicted the fate of the top 10 remaining free agents. He has Ben SheetsHisPants signing with the Cubs, and several free agent White Sox such as Thome and Dye going to the Tigers.
Also here come the Cardinals with all new “enhancements.” Mark McGwire as a coach? Uh oh. Also with the huge signing of Matt Holiday for a long term deal they have become the Yankees of the NL
Mike, my pleasure. And, as for Bukowski….man, there are so many…but here’s a few that come to mind:
(poetry) “Burning In Water, Drowning In Flame” (maybe start here, selected poems from 1955-1973), “Love Is A Dog From Hell”, “The Days Run Away Like Wild Horses Over the Hills”; (novel) “Post Office”, “Factotum”; (short stories) “The Most Beautiful Woman In Town”…

That is basically correct, Robert. I would really doubt he would see any time at all at first base, but I’d bet he would get an at bat or two. Remember, it’s not about helping the Cardinals, it’s about McGuire getting into the Hall of Fame.
I only wish there could be a way to ban them from doing it. I don’t know how that could be done. And quite honestly, I think Santo deserves the Frick award more than McGuire deserves to be in the Hall. Which means neither one of them deserve it.
