Last time I checked, Jim Hendry was still a PATHETIC excuse of a GM…a major-league BUM.
For those non-believers, reference “Milton Bradley”, “Soriano’s contract”, “Dusty Baker”…if that doesn’t convince you, I’m sure other contributors will be happy to weigh in.
FIRE JIM HENDRY. It should have already happened…but since it hasn’t, I hope Rickett’s will have the guts and good sense to do it by the All-Star break — if the Cubs are playing poorly — or at the end of the season — if they don’t win the World Series.
Listen to me! “Win the World Series”!! Indeed, it has been 102 years since the last title…and yet, hope springs eternal!!!
It’s time to get this party started….again. I’m not much of a fan of the old “hope springs eternal” shit, but we are Cubs fans after all. Not feeling comfortable at all with our bullpen situation, but at least that useless, goggle wearing sack of shit isn’t around to torment us for another year. I’m ready for whatever the season brings. PLAY BALL!!!!
I’ve had my fucking heart ripped out of my chest many times by the Cubs. But through all that, I’ll be a Cub fan till the day I die. I can’t imagine turning my back on them completely. I have too much invested in this to give it up.
Most so-called experts, especially at the four-letter network pick the Cubs anywhere from 2nd, to mostly 5th. Thats fine with me. They seem to do better when the expectations are not so high. This is a hard year to predict. They could be 90 win good, or 75 win bad.
Goddamnit. That fucking headcase Zambrano is at it again. Cocksucker has given up 6 fucking runs in 1/3 of an inning. That rat-bastard can’t find his fat ass with both hands and a road map.
And explain to me again why Rothschild is still employed.
Chucky, I never thought Card fans were too bad, just incredibly annoying. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely hate the Cardinals, but their fans just kinda bug me. Braves fans on the other hand…. Cletus the Slack-Jawed yokel, and his half-wit hillbilly friends. America’s Team my fucking ass. I know that was Ted Turner and his toadies that came up with that shit but these bozos perpetuate it. Take your “tomahawk chop” and shove it up your ass. Florida State too! Hope I didn’t offend any regulars!
on a positive note at least they dont have to worry in september about playing undefeated baseball or James Russell did not look bad but lil z and smartshit looked pathetic
Well, that was just grand. A 16-5 loss on opening day. And will somebody please explain to me how the fuck the mental case known as Zambrano has gotten the Opening day start the past several years? Has he even won 1 of them?
Didn’t the Yankees want that shithead Zambrano at one point? There had better be a good goddamned reason that trade didn’t happen. Couldn’t get a big enough bag of batting practice balls Moe, you asshole?
“Thank you Jim Hendry for not getting a good left handed bat in the lineup worth anything. Thank you for assembling a terrible bullpen and rotation. Thank you for doing nothing at all this off season but sit and watch good players get picked up. Jim Hendry this team you call a baseball team is pitiful, how do you still have a job. Thank you Jim Hendry for another year added to the decade mark and another long year of headsche.”
That pretty much sums it up for me.
Another year, another lost season. Cubs will finish fifth or sixth this year. The only team as bad as the Cubs is Houston, everyone else in the division improved themselves.
Chucky, I’ve been to a Mud Hens game, at the old Ned Skeldin Stadium! They built a new park and slapped some damn corporate name on it, but I know Kinger from M*A*S*H would agree with you!

Oh I know who’s ready. Another season of fantastic stats presented by our colleague Irish Yeti.
Happy 102 to all.

I did not say this someone said it on chicagosports.com it was a fan but man they hit the nail on the head
Hendry was a Trib monkey and makes one mediocre move for every three bad ones. He is a waste of payroll.

Happy 102! Batter up! And, on a positive note: we are one day closer to the firing of Jim Hendry! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

One more quick rant….That fucking chant the Braves fans do and have been doing for years officially annoys me more than anything Cardinal fans do.
Congratulations, Braves fans across the world! You’ve officially become the asshat center of the universe, you stupid dumb-fucks.

I nominate…..The Toledo Mud Hens.

Welcome back, Lil’ Z!
Some things never change…at least not for 102 years.
Opening day….PATHETIC.

Six Chicago pitchers combined for eight walks.
“The thing that was so upsetting was we didn’t walk people in spring training,” Piniella said. “I complimented our pitchers on that.”

Uh, why does Larry Rothschild still have a job?

Genre, your guess is as good as mine’s on that topic.
The only thing that walks clog is the scoreboard.

So would Bobby “The Brain” Hennan. He mentioned them often in his wrestling promos.
That was actually what made me think of them in the first place.
