I said this last year before the season started and I said it this year…
The season was over before it started.
That wasn’t a prediction. It’s just a fact.
Where is that clown Irish Yeti to tell us we’re wrong? It’s funny how he doesn’t show up when this team is losing but if they win a few in a row, he comes around add insult us and tells us we are idiots. Typical sheeple…
And for those of you who say “what do you know”, my response is “WTF does Jim Hendry know”? (he who signed Milton Bradley, what a PATHETIC legacy that is…)
There is only one game that sums up that dumb fuck in a nutshell…
4th of July 2004. Crosstown battle. Glendon Rusch is throwing the game of his life. I think he only had 1 hit through 8 and no walks or runs. 1-0 heading to the 9th. What does Dusty do? He puts in Latroy to promptly serve one up to Carlos Lee. Thankfully for that night, Todd Walker walked with the bases loaded in extras.
I think we all need to find an American League team to root for to distract us from this disgrace of a baseball franchise. To Lou: What kinda baseball is that bunting a guy over to 3rd to try and drive him in in the 8th inning of a one run game? It’s called smart baseball you Jackass!! This guy needs to go!! That is stupid managing what you did yesterday! Also in that 8th inn, he pinch hit for Koyie Hill to bring in Chad Tracy. Yeah Chad fucking Tracy!!! All the while leaving his regular starting catcher on the bench who has been hitting the shit out of the ball lately on the bench!
Lou has had one too many margaritas. He left James Russell (Where the fuck did this asswipe come from?) in to give up 7 goddamned runs in the top of the 7th.
Fuck this shit!!! Blow this fucking bullshit organization to fucking pieces!
Fuck Hendry…The most useless GM in pro sports.
Fuck Piniella…Drunken, uninterested bastard.
Fuck Jaramillo…Great move Moe. The hitting sure has picked up since you landed this useless sack of shit.
Fuck Rothschild…Anyone up for a towel drill? How does this cocksucker escape being shit-canned?
Fuck Tom “Mr. Cubs fan” Ricketts…you’re already proving to be just as fucking useless as the goddamned Tribune Company.
“Fuck Tom “Mr. Cubs fan” Ricketts…you’re already proving to be just as fucking useless as the goddamned Tribune Company.
Fuck me…For still giving a shit.”
————————–
But, Chucky, Al Yellon and Irish Yeti says there’s still plenty of baseball left to play, don’t give up on our boys!!!!!! And Tom Ricketts says, “Well, Lou is still my manager”, and “Jim Hendry is the best GM in the business, everybody knows that.”
These people believe 2+2=3, the tooth fairy, the moon is made of green cheese, and the Cubs will win the pennant.
This franchise doesn’t need a new owner, it’s needs someone who actually possess a brain.
Did Ricketts really say “Jim Hendry is the best GM in the business, everybody knows that.”
————————-
Nah, I made that up, Genre.
But, knowing Ricketts, and knowing this organization, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised he has said something similar. I recall Piniella calling Rothschild the best pitching coach in baseball, or something along those lines a couple of years ago.
We give soriano crap…but when he was booed he said I deserve it I would boo myself…when milty got booed he blamed everyone but himself….soriano said after yesterdays games i am sarting to earn the cheers back
Mistakes in today’s game are as common as 4-3 ground outs, and they’re not always accompanied by consequence. It is the frequent refrain of veteran managers and instructors every day: Young players today are bigger, stronger, faster and more talented than ever, but some of them, if not a majority, don’t know how to play the game.
Never was that more clear than Saturday, a day that normally would have set the game back 20 years, but sadly, that day has happened many times in the past 20 years. Here’s what the Cincinnati Reds did: In the bottom of the third inning, pitcher Johnny Cueto, who was on first base, thought the third out had been made at first base, so he jogged around second and was tagged out halfway to third. In the next inning, baserunner Brandon Phillips was caught leaning off first by San Diego Padres pitcher Wade LeBlanc. The next inning, the same thing happened to the Reds’ Jonny Gomes. The next inning, Reds center fielder Drew Stubbs forgot how many outs there were, and, after catching a fly ball for the second out of the sixth inning, threw the ball into the stands. Four straight innings, four mental errors. After the game, Dusty Baker, the Reds’ old-school manager, closed the clubhouse door and screamed at his team.
Mr. Piniella, please do not remove your foot from the ass of Fonzie, it is working wonders.
Soriano: BA .325 OBP .382 SLG .675 10 rib and 4 homers in last 4 games.
I know stats are worth about as much as Yeti himself, but that is an improvement
Here is what I really like:
Soto: BA .322 OBP .487!!!
Fukudome: BA .342 OBP .348
Theriot: BA .355!! OBP .390 (should be a little higher but very good lead off man stats)
Lee and Ramirez are less than pathetic right now, but if those two pick it up, we may just be looking at a 2008-level offense again. And we need something like that to offset relief pitchers like John Grabow.
But one thing is for certain: if we are swept by the Pirates I’m taking the rest of the year off as a Cubs fan barring any real miracles.
“Mr. Piniella, please do not remove your foot from the ass of Fonzie, it is working wonders.”
===========
Do you actually believe Piniella will do something that makes good baseball sense, Dave?
As soon as Fonzie pitches a fit about where he is in the batting order, Piniella will have him leading off again. If Piniella actually started to lead, and use some of that baseball knowledge he lost some years ago, the Cubs might have a chance to actually make a noise this year. Not much of a noise, but a noise.
“Fire Dusty” is up and running over at the Reds fan blog! Kinda brings a tear to your eye don’t it fellas? Ah, the good ole days.
Good to see Soriano earning some of that ridiculous pay check he recieves this past weekend. Hopefully he can keep this going for extended period of time. BTW isn’t funny that we don’t have any of the lil stat guys in here that liked to try and point out that Soriano could only hit in the leadoff spot and it would be stupid to move him out of it. Hmm interesting….. Seems to be working out ok so far hasn’t it?
One thing that I do like about Soriano is that he doesn’t make excuses ala Game Boy, the eternal excrement bag…and if he’s upset with the booing, he does a good job of keeping it to himself.
I for one never doubted that he could hit “outside” the cleanup spot…but what do I know? I’m just a fan who is drifting out to sea………
Blockbuster trade idea: Zambrano, A-Ram & Lee for…..(???????????)
My wife — who rarely watches the Cubs — told me over the phone that they were getting their asses cooked, looked horrible, totally out of sync as a team….etc.
Man it is so obvious that this PATHETIC franchise is DOOMED until the culture of mis-management and losing is eliminated.
If Rickett’s is serious about WINNING, he has to make a move and get rid of Hendry, who clearly is a BAD judge of CHARACTER & TALENT…and HOW TO SPEND $$$ EFFECTIVELY.
Make the move NOW and FIRE JIM HENDRY.
What would be the harm? Does anybody here seriously think that this Cubs team can/will contend for a WS Title?
Manager Lou Piniella didn’t say anything to his players after they were outsccored 18-5 during Pittsburgh’s first sweep of Chicago since Aug. 28-30, 2006.
“I’ll say something tomorrow but what am I going to say [tonight]?”
==============================
Yeah, that’s right, pick up right where you left off last year, and the year before that, and the year before that – “Whadda want me to do?”
Piniella is caricature. He’s your drunk uncle who dares you to pull his finger. He’s the guy standing on the street corner wearing a duck outfit, waving to the cars going by, for the new restaurant opening down the street. He’s the guy walking down the street with ten signs on his back saying, “Kick me.”
Why doesn’t someone in that organization put this miserable clown out to pasture where he belongs. How he ever led the Reds to the W.S. is beyond me. I guess it’s just a matter of a team winning in spite of their dope of a manager.
Hey Ricketts, maybe you should have bought the Pirates, at least they look like they’ve got a future!
I wasn’t kidding when I proposed that blockbuster trade which would include Lee, Ramirez and Zambrano. I believe all three have seen their best days. As for Lou, I’m just hoping he punches Hendry in the throat before too much more time passes. Then maybe Ricketts will get off of his pansy ass and do something meaningful (I’m glad you met your wife in the bleachers, dude….baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa).

April 28, 2010 at 11:17 pm
Oops typo. I meant It’s A way of life.
April 29, 2010 at 12:49 am
Somebody…anybody!! Please send telegram to D Lee and A-Ram informing them that the 2010 season is officially underway. Sheesh.
If I was GM, I’d be making plans to bring younger players up ASAP.

A.K.A. Mr Toothpick.
Oh, and Robert, how about “dudes” like Neifi Perez, Freddie Bynum, and Toad Hollandsworthless?
Why are we fans of this bullshit trainwreck again?

By the way, just where the hell are those two assbags? Not that I miss them.

If so, he is a Major League Idiot and an asshole. Which is appropriate given the sorry state of this PATHETIC organization.
Who/where are the idiots who truly believe Hendry is the best GM? Stand up and take a bow, you dumb sheep.

Wait…Dusty screamed at his team?
But on the other hand, shouldn’t he be screaming at himself?
But then again, players should know basic fundamentals. We learned that shit in little league.
I digress though.
