I hope you have a great day. Sorry that I have not been able to deliver that World Series Championship present to you for the last four seasons. Do you have another 100 years left in you?

  1. genrebuster Says:

Thanks Keith!! 100 more years?…man I don’t know if I can stomach the Cubs through June 2011…we shall see. Perhaps Irish Yeti can provide some stats that will make us all feel better… 😉

  2. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

Genre…I am hoping Irish Yeti gave up stats for Lent.

I have been reading a lot on what’s going on in spring training. Maybe Silva can be traded soon. His ERA is around 27 already. I am certain Irish Yeti thinks that is serviceable so I am guessing he is sticking around.

Has Jim Hendry been fired yet?

  3. genrebuster Says:

I promise to forfeit all future birthday gifts if Hendry is fired TODAY!

  4. Yeti Says:

    Sorry, MSS….

I have hated Silva since they got him last year.

Do you have another 100 years left in you?

Are you saying Genre has already lived 100 years?

  5. Yeti Says:

Oops. Did that coding wrong. Oh well

  6. genrebuster Says:

sometimes when I watch the Cubs, it feels like I’ve lived 100 years.

  7. chucky Says:

Happy Birthday Genre. Here’s to not only hoping for the Cubs to win the World series, but to landing a real owner and GM. Being that we’re both around the same age, let’s hope it happens soon.

  8. genrebuster Says:

    Amen chucky…and Thank You!

  9. Jimmy D. Says:

A belated Happy Birthday wish to you from the land of Green and Gold. My birthday is 2 weeks after yours and I think we’re working on the same number of years on this planet (I’m hitting 49 with this one).

    Jimmy D.

  10. genrebuster Says:

I’ve been around longer than most of you guys, am currently celebrating 54. That said, I usually pass for much younger, am often asked to produce the drivers license for proof. I suppose the music keeps me young (?). The biz…and the Cubs–sure don’t…ha! Age is a state of mind, that’s one thing I’m sure of.

I really appreciate all the good wishes from everybody.

  12. MadCityMac Says:

Scott, happy 54! Hit 52 myself back in February; same here, nobody believes I’m that old. I always tell them it’s from clean living, then wait for the chuckles, snickers, looks of disbelief, etc. I’d give almost anything to get you that birthday wish of shit-canning Moe!

And Jimmy, happy 49 early, just in case I miss it!

  13. chucky Says:

Hell, I thought I was older than you guys! I turned 47 last December. Maybe I just have more miles on me than most guys my age. I sure as fuck feel it, that’s for sure. I think I might need to get my shoulder fixed again. 2nd time in four months, and it hurts worse now than before the first surgery.

  14. genrebuster Says:

jimmyd, I trust that you will celebrate 49 in style.

On my 50th birthday, an attractive woman asked me how I was doing…when I said “today’s my 50th, not sure how I feel about it”….she looked at me and said “darlin’, you’re young…50’s the new 30”. Hell, I thought 50 was the new 40…so I was happy to hear otherwise…I felt old(er) at 40 (clean living).

Mike, I appreciate the sentiment. When Hendry get’s shitcanned, I will make a trip to Chicago and the 1st round for anybody that can make it is on me! I am hoping to visit my Mom and stepdad in May, will give you guys as much advance as possible, in case it’s possible to meet. If so, I’ll ask Muskrat to invite Moe to join us…

chucky, I had hand surgery in January…I was pretty freaked out leading up to it…fortunately the outcome was great, better than I expected. I’m easing back into performing/recording.

Perhaps some of the younger guys who check in here may better understand our current points of view if the Cubs are still in search of “their 1st WS title since 1908” when they celebrate their 45th birthdays (and/or older)…or older.

To the ones who get it now: you are gentlemen and scholars!

  15. ksmc2000 Says:

Scott, it’s easy for me to remember your birthday as I was born three days before you in 1957. As long as I’m on God’s green earth, I will wish you a great day. Hopefully we will get that fucking World Series while we are still around.

If you are visiting your mom in Wrigleyville on May 21st, a band I saw in Milwaukee last year are playing at the Cubbie Bear. Sick Puppies really came into their own in 2010. They have a hot bass player named Emma Anzai from Australia that has excellent stage presence. She would put most guys to shame the way she plays bass.

  16. Jimmy D. Says:

Enough of the bullshit already. It’s been years that we’ve been posting together….now, let’s all fucking hook up in May!!! I don’t give 2 shits if it’s at the Cubbie Bear, Murphy’s, inside the park…or even at the Mac and Don’s across the street. Let’s pin down a date and git ‘er done!!!

  17. genrebuster Says:

Keith…a very happy belated birthday to you, sorry I “missed it”.

Jimmy D….you are right, of course. I am long overdue for a visit…will do my best to make it happen in May if not sooner. I was unable to perform for 6 weeks after my surgery…hope to be on more solid ground soon. Working on it now, will keep you guys posted!

  18. Jimmy D. Says:

My apologies….Happy Belated Birthday to you as well. Man….you guys are some old fucks. Holy Shit!!! Next year I get to join the AARP group, too. Yikes!!!

    Jimmy D.

  19. genrebuster Says:

NO FEAR Jimmy D. Still going strong here, no meds needed…HA! You’ll be fine next year…

  20. MadCityMac Says:

Keith, happy belated as well. Kinda had my head up my butt lately!

  21. Fro Dog Says:

Sorry I have been really late on all of this. I put a post up the other day and didn’t bother to look at this post.

The greatest city in the world misses you. I suggest you come up here soon. Me, Jimmy D, Mac, Chucky and the rest of the boys here will put extra effort in seeing you if can make it. We all still need to have those burgers together.

  22. genrebuster Says:

Thanks Fro. And, I’ll make a visit to Chicago mid/late May or early June…for sure! Will pin down the dates in April…
