Discuss whatever is on your mind. This Saturday, I will be at the WWE Raw House Show in Rockford. And for those wondering, I will have the belt on me (the real one). If I get any good pictures, I will put them up sometime next week.
Have a good weekend ladies and gentleman.

Fro….Are you taking any signs with you? I haven’t heard if Larry Horse ever got his title shot.
July 29, 2011 at 1:12 pm
I would if it was a televised event. I know RAW will be in Chicago the day after Christmas. I tried to get tickets when they went on sale last week. I was in right at the time it went on sale and the only tickets that were left were in the upper deck. In any sporting event, I cannot stand upper deck seats because I can’t see shit.

Well, at least our elite closer still has an ERA below 4.00.

This article makes me sick.

“You always need some kind of rebuilding when you’re in fifth place,” Cubs general manager Jim Hendry said Friday. “But you don’t look at it like we’re not going to compete. When somebody says, ‘Blow the place up and start over and do it right,’ OK, does that mean we should get rid of the people who are young?”
RESPONSE: WTF? No, no one wants you to trade Castro and few would want you to trade Barney. Why would you trade your best young players when you’re starting over? Don’t be stupid. You can compete without making 3 players worth more than four of MLB’s current pennant contenders (Indians, D-Backs, Pirates, and Rays).
Also, why the hell are they rushing Andrew Cashner back again? Geez, between this stupid management and living in Nashville where I have to witness Bud Adams and the Tennessee Titans….
July 30, 2011 at 10:21 am
As far as the reasons for optimism given…. two have already been tried this season and Cashner isn’t winning 15 more games as the no. 5 starter.
Unless we stop having guys like Carlos Pena who hit below .200 with RISP in the middle of the order, completely revamp the pitching staff, and get more consistency out of the bullpen (Marmol)… we’re not winning.

Pie i dont know if you follow hockey or not but i a huge edmonton oiler fan…and i am seeing what a tear down and rebuild will do for a team….Steve Tambellini tore down the oilers and is rebuilding that team back up…they will be a playoff contender quite possibly this year and a cup contender within 3
July 30, 2011 at 1:33 pm
I follow a little hockey. I support the Nashville Predators and they’ve always had a good team without overspending on players. If they ever add a couple scorers and improve their power-play unit then they’d be Stanley Cup contenders.
I’m a Cubs and (time to get crucified) Packers fan and the difference between management is astounding. Ted Thompson (The Anti-Hendry or Anti-Spendry) rebuilt a Super Bowl team within five seasons, three after Brett Favre left. He almost solely uses the draft and get discounts on veterans that no one wants.
The Cubs pay guys like Carlos Pena $10 million coming off a .196 season and trade their farm for a no. 3 pitcher on a real pennant contender.

Pie i know how you feel….I am a Steeler fan….so i know how a well ran orginazation runs
July 30, 2011 at 2:51 pm
Pie,
You’re not alone. I’m a Packer fan and so is MadCityMac. I can’t remember who else on this site is, but there are others.
Later,
Jimmy D.
July 30, 2011 at 2:53 pm
Pie….i won’t crucify you for being a Packer fan. Hell, your team won the Super Bowl. What did the Bears do? Other than totally shitting the bed in the NFC title game against the Packers.

“You’re not alone. I’m a Packer fan and so is MadCityMac. I can’t remember who else on this site is, but there are others.”

I’m the other one, Jimmy D.
But, as I have said before, I have a lot of respect for that Bears organization. Although, I can understand Fro’s frustration with the present coach and GM. Get that team a decent coach and they’ll be back there.
I don’t know enough about the GM to comment, but Lovie Smith is not a head coach. He should go back to being an assistant. He’s like Dave Wannestadt, Norv Turner, and so many other assistants that think they are head coaching material – they ain’t.
July 30, 2011 at 5:19 pm
Jesus fucking Christ! Is Jeff Samardzija fucking good for anything other than serving up goddamned batting practice to opposing teams? Fucking worthless piece of shit. This entire team sucks massive dick.
July 30, 2011 at 6:24 pm
What can they contend for again 40 games under .500
July 30, 2011 at 6:38 pm
Robert….Do you think they’ll be that good?
July 30, 2011 at 6:42 pm
Wow. Yea I notice there’s some type of connection between the Packers and Cubs.
As far as the Cubs… I guess the season officially ends at the trading deadline tomorrow. Maybe they can rush Andrew Cashner back in September and screw him up some more.
July 30, 2011 at 7:55 pm
Pie, as a lifelong Packer and (gulp) Cub fan, there’s the obvious connection of you, Ernie, Jimmy D. and myself, but the only other similarities I can think of is that the Cubs are as big of and maybe even more so, of a clusterfuck like the Packers were in the dark days of Forrest Gregg as head coach and Tom Braatz as general manager. God, I break out in hives thinking about those days. As great a player as Gregg was, he was a piece of shit as head coach. Braatz was easily the equal of Moe Hendry. Blow it up! And as far as the Preds are concerned, a number of people on this site know what a huge Wisconsin Badger hockey fan I am; between the recently-signed Craig Smith, Blake Geoffrion, and Ryan Suter (who’s dad I went to high school with), that’s a team I’m going to be paying a little more attention to.
July 31, 2011 at 4:59 am
Chucky, turn off the games.
July 31, 2011 at 6:08 am
Mac….Wasn’t Forrest Gregg a servicable head coach for Green Bay?
July 31, 2011 at 8:21 am
Chucky, somehow, that name and “servicable” do go together don’t they?!? Kevin Gregg might be Forrest’s bastard son!
July 31, 2011 at 8:50 am
Mac…..Kevin Gregg was such a servicable douche that I wouldn’t claim him as MY bastard son.
He’s just a bastard.

Mad city did oiler defenseman tom gilbert play for wisconsin
July 31, 2011 at 1:12 pm
Yeti probably thinks Quade is doing an awesome job. He also thinks we should stop having a retarded reaction to every damn problem there is about that team.
If you are reading this Yeti, please, enlighten us on your thoughts of Ricketts, Hendry and Quade. I’d love to hear them.
July 31, 2011 at 4:35 pm
Robert, he did. One of the great mullets in hockey!
July 31, 2011 at 5:16 pm
Hopefully, The Cubs lack of activity is a sign that Jim Hendry has become a caretaker for the rest of the season and they’re not serious about their chances in 2012 with Byrd and Pena…
July 31, 2011 at 6:12 pm
Reports are poppa joe is not a fan of him
July 31, 2011 at 7:33 pm
Carlos Pena said he is glad he did not get traded…cause he wants to be there due to the fact hendry is about to put his master plan in place
August 1, 2011 at 8:22 am
Master plan? That doesn’t sound good at all.
August 1, 2011 at 9:36 pm
“master plan”?
