Bears GM: It’s between Licht and Emery.
The only answer here is Licht.
They CANNOT hire someone who had previous ties to Angelo and Ruskell. HOW is that going to fucking work? I worked under you and now I’m your boss?
They need someone who has NEVER been around the people who are now in Halas Hall. No relationships, no favors, no saving your ass.
We need a guy who can start firing people WITHOUT sentiment.
Just by hanging out with Belichick *something* must have rubbed off on the guy about creating a WINNING franchise.
Watch the Bears blow this one and pick on sentiment. “We like this guy, we KNOW this guy….” blah blah bullshit.
God help us.
Those were two really good games by the way. As always, I wish the Bears were still playing but hey. I guess I can wish pigs would fly too.
Joe, I will have to agree with you and that the McCaskey’s are fucking idiots if they hire someone that has already worked for them. The ideal decision would be to bring someone new to the scene and have him bring in his own people. But what do I know? I am just the idiotic customer who goes to a game or two a year.
I think this site will be renamed “Fire Ted Phillips” once I get some free time.
From what I have read, Licht was not even allowed to be present in Patriot’s draft room. So basically, we are interviewing a scout with very limited responsibility to run the Bears football. That is Jerry Angelo 2.0. Combine that with a lousy Lovie, who was a lousy defensive coordinator, and we are going to have a 6-10 year. The fact is, no credible candidate will consider taking the Bears job. Looking back, we were fortunate to have Mark Hatley. At least he drafted some good players.
If they were serious, they would go after Ron Wolf. He is old, and may not want the job, but if we pay him enough, he may do it.
So please change this site to Fire Lovie and Philips. We are in for a rough 2012.

Tony,
I wasn’t going to do this…but, I just couldn’t help myself. Does this look familiar? Yep, you posted it.
Who will get to or win the Superbowl?
Giants v. 49′ers, I will give the 49′ers a slight edge. I like Harbaugh. Baltimore v. Pats. I will go with Baltimore because I like Harbaugh.
Superbowl Winner: Any team with Harbaugh as their head coach.
Nice fucking call. I guess this pulls you down below the “football IQ of 80” category. DC!
Later,
Jimmy D.
