Enough already.

Definition of PATHETIC:

  1. Arousing pity, esp. through vulnerability or sadness.
  2. Miserably inadequate.

After this latest BLOWN save, #1 just doesn’t do it for me. Why the hell should ANYBODY feel sorry for Carlos Marmol? This guy makes more money in a year  than most of us will make in a lifetime. $7 million this year, 20+ million from 2010-2013. He made it to “the show”. I don’t feel sorry for him at all. I feel sorry for his teammates — who he let down again — and for long suffering Cub fans.

#2 sums it up just fine: MISERABLY INADEQUATE.

Marmol throws hard. SO WHAT? How about a “closer” who can PITCH? How about a closer who can get the ball over the plate consistently? How about a closer who has the right head for the job? How about a closer who can…close? What a concept…

Time to make a change. There is nothing to lose…start grooming somebody else for the job or make a trade for a legitimate closer when one becomes available.

I’m tired of this CRAP. The house-cleaning is not complete….

I’ve wanted to see it for at least one year now. So sick of it. This guy blew at least 10 wins last year. Marmol and Quade alone lost at least 15 games last year and that’s probably being generous. Same shit is gonna happen this year at this rate.

  2. Tony Says:

Thank God you are covering this, I was going to post a comment on the other open thread.

Pethetic. Big Ears needs to go somewhere else, either the Minors or another team. He is useless and is occupying a slot.

Dempster pitches another Gem, and this asshole blows it, again. Other than this, I actually like what I’m seeing with the Cubs and will be at the game today (Friday).

  3. chucky Says:

That’s two wins this year now that Marmol has blown for Dempster. I heard Boers and Bernstein say right after the game that Marmol CAN’T PITCH ANYMORE!!!!!!

    6 million this year.
    10 million next year.

Fucking goddamned Moe Hendry saddled the Cubs with this bastard. When do the Cubs take piece out of that cocksuckers ass?

  5. DVXPrime Says:

Said my piece on the Cubs yesterday. If the Fire win this weekend, I’ll post highlights.

    Plan B, y’all…jus’ sayin’…

  6. chucky Says:

    It’s about goddamn time!

    http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/05/04/marmol-may-be-out-as-cubs-closer/

  7. genrebuster Says:

    Yay.

So, Sveum says Marmol should be ready to continue pitching…fine with me, as long as it’s for another team. I have no confidence in him as a closer…he earned that!

  8. Robert Says:

But he is servicable…..russel should get the job full time

  9. Pie In The Sky Says:

The two things that are going against Russell:

    1) They don’t have an effective left-hand specialist without him (maybe Scott Maine can be that guy).

    2) One of the main reasons that Russell never panned out as a starter was because of his struggles against right-handed pitching.
From what I read, he’s improved in that area in the early going this year.

  10. chucky Says:

Nice to see Kerry Wood is back to form. Useless fuckin’ asshole. Yellon probably made a mess out of himself when that dumb fuck came out.

  11. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

Sean Marshall would sure look great right about now. My head still spins on why he was traded in the first place. I thought he should have been a starter years ago.

  12. Pie In The Sky Says:

I don’t think they wanted to pay S. Marshall what he would’ve demanded because they were still hoping that Carlos Marmol would be their closer. At least Dolis got the save but I’m not sure if he can hold this job long term with his inability to strike people out.

  13. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

Screw both Russell and Wood for nearly blowing the game today for Maholm. This whole bullpen needs a makeover.

  14. genrebuster Says:

I’m with you on Marshall…and the bullpen. No real surprise, I guess. We all knew this was a “lost” year….well most of us did…(baaaaahhhhh)

  15. DVXPrime Says:

And then the Bulls blow a FOURTEEN POINT LEAD…

  16. chucky Says:

And probably lose Noah in the process. That twist his ankle took was damn ugly. If Rose hadn’t blown out his knee, Noah wouldn’t have come back after that. He shouldn’t have come back anyway. Just made it worse.

  17. Fro Dog Says:

I was trying not to comment on this game but you guys just had to bring it up!

Fuck these assholes. They aren’t quitting but they are sure idiots. It doesn’t even matter if Rose is out or not. They were blowing double-digit leads late in games even with Rose playing. Missed free throws? Try nine of them. Turnovers? 17? No excuses.

Looking at the reply, it looked like Noah snapped his ankle. He tapes it up then tries to get back out there. Fine. Be a tough guy. Then he hobbles all over the court only to try to get it re-taped, then give it a go again. He made it worse as Chucky mentioned. That’s the definition of stupidity.

My April 18 post is sure looking good right now. I even called it that the Bulls will lose to the Knicks/Sixers in the first round or second round for sure. Even with Rose, they don’t win these last two games. They have played like complete shit and didn’t deserve to win.

Changes need to be made. If the Bulls are this bad without Rose, then he needs better players around him next season. Find some players who can actually make their damn free throws and not turn over the ball countless times a game (Omer Asik).

  18. Tony Says:

It was a good game yesterday, (little chilly so we left in the 8th). By the time we got back to the bar I was just in time to see them blow another save…almost. And to see Dale Sveum ejected for asking a question. Seriously, it was the most lackluster ejection I’ve seen.

Matt is right, screw them, none of those guys are the long term answer. But anything is better than Marmol.

As far as the Bulls go, their cap is tight next year. Nobody is going to take Boozer’s outrageous contract. So it will be more of the same.

At least Rip is looking good..

  19. Yeti Says:

Well, Fro, Derrick scores about 25 points per game, and the Bulls never lost by more than 25, so they would have won with him

  20. Pie In The Sky Says:

    To be fair…

    Derrick Rose (21.8/gm) – John Lucas (12 pts Game 3) = 9.8

Luog Deng has 13 pts in the past 2 games combined. That guy needs to step up or they’re in trouble.

  21. Pie In The Sky Says:

    Luol*

  22. genrebuster Says:

“Irish Yeti” was smarter than Yeti…

  23. DVXPrime Says:

…and now Noah is on the bench for Game 4. Going to be a short post-season and a long off-season.

  24. DVXPrime Says:

    Post game four venting:

This will go down as arguably one of the ugliest playoff series ever, and not merely because the Bulls are in full meltdown mode.

Can ABC please end Desperate Housewives with a big fat lesbo sex fest? And can they PLEASE end Grey’s fucking Anatomy (and Private fucking Practice) with some terorits assholes shooting up both of those hospitals? Please pretty please?

  25. Fro Dog Says:

Yeti, it’s good to see you back here after a brief hiatus.

Even though Rose has been out as well as Noah now, these last two games were still very winnable. The fact that the Bulls still pissed themselves with turnovers (Boozer had five alone) and C.J. Watson was an outstanding 5-18 from the field. I won’t even get into Deng and Hamilton and how they didn’t. Do what you do best and check out their stats.

    DVX,

Give me Teri Hatcher and that red head I saw in the commercial for the scene.

  26. chucky Says:

    And give me Kathy Bates!

  27. Fro Dog Says:

    You are a sick bastard.

  28. chucky Says:

Thanks Fro! All I wanted was recognition.

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
