…news from Wrigley Stadium:
Samardzija struck out a career high-tying 11 in seven innings, and the Chicago Cubs beat the Houston Astros 7-1 on Monday night.
Chicago won for just the second time in 13 games. The Astros have lost 25 of their past 27 road games.
The crowd of 31,452 was the smallest of the season at Wrigley Field.

Genre….I heard the game being advertised on the radio as “the two worst teams in baseball playing on a cold, rainy Monday night in August”. I’m surprised attendance was that high.

Before the trading deadline, they were on pace to ONLY lose 90-95 games. Now…they are in danger of losing about 105. Spectacular!
I wish there were less sheeple there. I prefer to see about 15,000 sitting there on a nice day in June just like it was in the early 90’s. That will make Rickett’s stomach turn!!!

Guys….it’s all I can do to muster up a new post….that’s how little I care at this point.
That said, I didn’t expect the Cubs to contend this year. But this is bordering on ridiculous.
I haven’t been watching the games so it may be completely out of line for me to state that I doubt Dale Sveum is a good choice for manager.
I’m willing to listen to opposing viewpoints.

Astros 10
Cubs 0
If he gave Anthony Rizzo back to Triple-A Iowa and played them in a three-game series, would we win?

Chris Volstad: 23 starts, 0 wins.
He can make history with six more winless starts…

I forgot who it was here (Fro? Genre?) that gave us the definition of insanity. Does Volstad starting game after game define that???
There must be something in the water at Wrigley Urinal because these managers that come to town become really stupid once they put the jersey on. I mean, they could have been stupid before but come on. This is INSANE…
