Once again, our good friend chucky hits it out of the park…his following comment is from the previous thread, but fits well here.

If memory serves me right, the Washington Nationals are still owned by MLB. As of 7:54 p.m. EST, the Nationals are involved in a pennant race, and the privately owned Cubs (Wrigleys/TribCo/Ricketts) are thanking God for the existence of the Houston Astros.
How did that happen?
September 3, 2012 at 7:03 pm
The White Sox are choking, the Cubs are a mess, the Bulls don’t care, and God alone knows what the Hawks are up to.
College football? In Illinois? Rly? Srsly?
Thank God for Plan B…

I posted my sentiments about the Cubs serviceable closer yesterday. I hate the dumbo eared shitstain. Fuck him.
DVX….here’s my plan B:

That, along with FIM World Superbike will be airing on Speedchannel this weekend.

chucky, I re-posted your comment from yesterday in the post. Cool?

Bravo on the rant, chucky…and I am cool with anything that helps empty Wrigley Field until Fanboy decides to quit jerking around and working with Theo to build a World Series contender.

Genre…you have carte blanche to post any of my stuff. I appreciate it.
DVX.. thank you too. But I don’t think Wrigley will be empty anytime soon, although I like the thought. I think the only thing we can do is this:
1) Continue on here ranting and raving like insane people.
2) Focus on some of our diversions (you with the Fire, me and my motorcycle racing).
3) Continue to rip on Lovie Staff and his Smith, and the OLD BITCH who signs his excessive paychecks.
4) Kick the crap out of whatever stupid bullshit Al Yellon can spew forth.
5) The Bulls are out of the picture for now. They have been since Derrick Rose blew out his knee. No sense in even thinking about them. Of course, the same could have been said about the Cubs.
Whatever happens after that will just be a bonus.

By being terrible and lucking into Strasburg and Harper, for one reason
September 4, 2012 at 1:43 pm
Do you honestly think the Nationals are only Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper? News flash, they’re a little bit more than those two.
Not to mention that Strasburg is being held together with spit and bubble gum. I think they more than them.

Yeti…being the baseball genius you are, what you said there makes you look like a dumbass.
Having only two players may work in something like basketball. In baseball though, it takes all 25 players on the roster.

Matt, it appears that counting beans may have a negative effect on the mind….
Yeti, you offered us “one reason”….are there others that you’d like to share with us?

What the Nationals have accomplished this season is amazing when ya think about the injuries they have had to overcome.
Michael Morse was out for 2 months.
Ryan Zimmerman missed like a month. He didn’t start hitting until the 2nd half.
They lost their catcher
They had to replace Drew Storen.
Adam LaRoche was out for awhile too.
Ian Desmond was out too I believe.
… Bryce Harper really hasn’t played all that well. He’s certainly not one of the biggest reasons for their record.
Can’t believe they’re gonna shut down Strasburg. However, Jordan Zimmerman and Gio Gonzalez will keep them hurling in the postseason.
