RIP Stan Musial and Earl Weaver…

Gentlemen (and the rest of you)…baseball lost the great “Stan the man” Musial  and Earl Weaver today.

It’s safe to say that Weaver was the more “colorful” of the two…and since we’re still in recovery from the “less colorful” Lovie, I offer the following for your pleasure…or displeasure.

Obit Earl Weaver Baseball

A fiery personality, to say the least. And the most successful manager in Orioles history.

“You’re here for one reason, to fuck us good!” – Earl Weaver

Genre….have you heard this rant from Earl Weaver?

It does seem staged, and it may not even Weaver himself, but it’s funnier than hell. I hadn’t heard of it until yesterday.

Yes, LOVE it…it is Weaver but they recorded it as a prank…I don’t think it ever aired *uncensored*….

    Manager’s Corner

While managing the Orioles, Weaver hosted a radio show called “Manager’s Corner” with Baltimore Oriole play by play announcer Tom Marr in which he would give his views on baseball and answer questions from fans. Weaver and Marr once recorded a prank version of the program, giving hilarious off-color answers to queries ranging from Terry Crowley, “team speed” and even growing tomatoes (one of Earl’s hobbies was gardening). The tape, which was not broadcast at the time, has since become legendary in Baltimore sports circles and has even been aired (in heavily edited fashion) on local sports radio.[11]
