This feels so good. So good.

January 2013 – I just had a FEELING.

Ticket stubs and rally towels to every Game 5 this year. All wins.

Here we go again guys. Friday is the day for the parade. Who’s coming? I am looking at you, Mac.
June 24, 2013 at 11:23 pm
I was resigned to Game 7 and the quick turnaround is such a shocker.
I am so proud of this team!!! TWICE they made other teams choke-the Wings and now the Bruins. Chicago teams normally specialize in choking themselves..To do this after having to get rid of so many players after 2010 is special. Not used to winning twice in such a short span. The Hawks are truly an elite organization. Congrats!!!

I was there last time, but I could never get a hold of you, Fro-was so loud and my phone at the time didn’t text. Not sure about this time, the body crunch was pretty stifling.
June 24, 2013 at 11:29 pm
I agree. That was a hot day and I went through two t-shirts. If you come up, let me know.

I am going to be up for a while as I am still going crazy and smiling. I have to say, that nothing feels as good as the first championship but this was pretty damn close to it.
Nemo, you’re one of the long time fans on here as well. Did you actually think back in the early 2000’s when the Blackhawks were terrible that you would see not one, but two championships in a span of four seasons just years later?
I have this memory in 2006 when the Blackhawks were up like three or four goals in a regular season game and they ended up blowing it. Trent Yawney, who was the coach at the time, was telling the media something along the lines of that his players were an embarrassment. He’s fired a short time later and Savard takes over. He then, gets fired nearly two years later with Quennville getting hired after and the rest is history.

I’ll let you know about Friday if I go, Fro.
Hey, is it possible for you to embed this video:
of “Here Come the Hawks”? The music is cheesy from the late 60’s, but I loved it as a kid growing up.
No, Fro, the Hawks were a moribund organization. I remember the first year the Hawks missed the playoff in my lifetime-1997-98-and what a horrible shock it was. I mean, they used to make the playoffs even with a losing record before expansion. They had a great year in 2001-2002-but lost in the 1st round. That year was an aberration anyway. They were floundering and totally inept. It may not be a nice thing to say, but the best thing that ever happened to this organization was Bill Wirtz dying and Rocky Wirtz taking over. It really is hard to believe all the amazing changes that having taking places for the Blackhawks the last 5-6 year. The only team that I have been a fan of longer is the Cubs-by maybe a year or so-so it means a lot to see these guys do it. I am proud to be a Blackhawks fan!!
June 25, 2013 at 12:18 am
Oh, I guess it embedded-awesome!
June 25, 2013 at 12:51 am
Indeed. I thought I’d see them win in the 90’s but it didn’t come to fruition. Another memory was when Wirtz finally kicked the bucket, Dale Tallon is giving a eulogy on Opening Night, 2007 and everyone is booing him. Classic.
June 25, 2013 at 2:23 am
Fro, I can remember when the Red Wings were a pathetic joke of a team and beating them was not a challenge. They weren’t consistently good until the early 90’s.
The first really good Hawks team I remember was the 82-83 team that scored over 100 points but got swept by the Oilers in the Conference Finals. The Cup Finals against the Penguins were interesting. I was working during game 1 and we were trading taunting Faxes with our Pittsburgh store after every goal. I was sure we’d get back their again soon, too.
What is so nice about this championship, is there was no uncertainty like there was with the Kane goal in Philly-I was afraid to celebrate because the stupid announcers didn’t seem to think it was a goal. This was nice and clear.

I guess it’s ok to say this now.
TALK MORE HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 25, 2013 at 9:27 am
Man, what a team.
June 25, 2013 at 10:33 am
Chucky, I just sent you an email. I think you’ll like it.
June 25, 2013 at 11:12 am
First memory of the Black Hawks: watching them upset top-seeded Minnesota North Stars in the Campbell Conference Quarterfinals, then marching to the conference finals where they lost to those ugly-ass Canucks. Forty-one years laters: a car needing an engine replaced and almost no money kept me from Buffalo Wild Wings and a shot at seeing the only Chicago champion this year.
Congratulations to the Black Hawks! That’s how you win the President’s Trophy and the Stanley Cup in the same season!
June 25, 2013 at 12:51 pm
OH FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!! Carlos Fucking Marmol has been designated for assignment!!!!! About fucking goddamned time!!!! See ya later shithead!
Sorry for changing the subject, but this is too important to pass up. What a great day this is turning out to be. First the Blackhawks, now Marmol getting cut.
Fro…I saw the email. That’s funny. I sent you a reply. I think you’ll like it.
June 25, 2013 at 2:42 pm
Chucky, Cubs also released that loser Ian Stewart. Never understood the Cubs fascination with the oft-injured, perennial Mendoza line candidate, but GOOD RIDDANCE!!
In other news, The Mighty Blackhawks are still fucking Stanley Cup Champions!!!!!
June 25, 2013 at 2:55 pm
Nemo….I did see that too. As you said, good riddance. He seemed to have an attitude problem since he found out that he wasn’t coming back to the main roster. But I have to tell you, I was absolutely happier than a pig in shit that Dumbo was sent packing. He was probably my most hated Cub player of all time. And that says something, considering some of the worthless cocksuckers the Cubs have had over the years.
Don’t let the door hit you in the ass Dumbo, you fucking shitstain scumbag. AND DON’T FUCKING COME BACK!!!!!
June 25, 2013 at 2:55 pm
Stanley Cup AND that useless piece of shit Marmol designated for assignment! A glorious day indeed. Fro, I’m going to try to make it; work is nuts right now and the 4th of July fucks up my entire work schedule/route. But I’ll try!! 🙂
June 25, 2013 at 4:16 pm
Enjoy the cup while you can before it makes its home in Edmonton again
June 25, 2013 at 4:34 pm

Marmol designated for assignment? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
FABULOUS!
And as Nemo so aptly put it, The Mighty Blackhawks are still fucking Stanley Cup Champions!!!!!
That is all.
June 25, 2013 at 8:46 pm
“Every time I go to the mound I try to give 100 percent, all I got. I didn’t fail for lack of effort. I would say that the lack of support from the fans was part of the reason of the mental block that I suffered recently,” Marmol said.
FUCK YOU!
June 25, 2013 at 9:04 pm
What an asshole. This reminds me of when Latroy was getting booed and Derrek Lee told the media that if you want a player to do well, show some support….hey morons…IS A FILLED UP STADIUM FOR A LAST PLACE TEAM WHO HASN’T WON IN OVER A CENTURY ENOUGH SUPPORT FOR YOU?!?!?!?
June 25, 2013 at 10:14 pm
Exactly. FUCK the Cubs. Until they start WINNING. I’m tired of GUTLESS, PATHETIC baseball. And rich, gutless, pathetic owners.
Thank You (again), Chicago Blackhawks! A skilled team…with HEART!
June 26, 2013 at 12:38 am
FUCK YOU MARMOL AND THE REST OF YOU SHITHEADS WHO ARE OR WERE EMPLOYED AT CLARK AND ADDISON…AKA…THE WORLD’S LARGEST URINAL…SURE…THE SHEEPLE PACK THE PLACE BUT THEY ARE STILL THERE…40,000 TO WATCH A LAST PLACE TEAM…QUIT BLAMING THE FANS FOR YOUR FAILURES…THEY DON’T LOSE THE GAMES…YOU GUYS DO…IF YOU BULLPEN PITCHERS ACTUALLY HOLD ONTO A LEAD…WE CHEER…WHEN YOU FAIL…WE BOO…IT’S SPORTS…THAT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE..
WHAT’S THAT? YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE PRESSURE? THEN WHY ARE YOU EVEN A PROFESSIONAL? GO PLAY IN YOUR COMMUNITY SOFTBALL LEAGUE THEN…BLOW A LEAD AND WE WILL BOO YOU…SAVE A GAME AND WE WILL CHEER…YOU THIN-SKINNED SON’S-A-BITCHES! YOUR MILLIONS OF DOLLARS AREN’T ENOUGH MOTIVATION FOR YOU TO DO BETTER?
June 26, 2013 at 1:55 am
Speaking of Latroy…be blew it for New York against the South Siders tonight…gave up a walk-off hit…
I never want Latroy Hawkins to retire from baseball…it’s free entertainment!
June 26, 2013 at 2:45 am
The thing that impressed me most about the Hawks was that they never doubted themselves no matter how bad things got. Down 3-1 to Detroit and everyone panicking (myself included) they were cool and collected and got the job done. They didn’t waste time worrying about how the fans felt. They appreciated us, but they knew themselves better than we did and they came through. Even some of the sportswriters were panicked down 2-1 to Boston, but the Hawks were too busy winning a championship to concern themselves with what the sportswriters thought their chances were.
Now, there are certain other organizations in this city that win 99 games and have so little confidence in themselves that they sprinkle holy water in the dugout and shit themselves when someone hits a home run early in the first game of a 5 game series.
The Cubs and the Hawks were my first two loves and they couldn’t be more different-Theo, let’s fucking get going!!!!!
June 26, 2013 at 1:02 pm
Nemo, you nailed it; great post.
The CULTURE surrounding the Cubs is PATHETIC and the roots run deep…
On one hand, I’m trying to be patient with Theo….but Sveum does NOT impress me so far…not sure how much longer I can give a crap about the Cubs.
The Blackhawks focused on taking care of business, even when the going got tough.
ANYBODY who worries about what others think is DOOOOOOMED to FAIL.
And, “Greg” is a pansy, my frients!!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
June 28, 2013 at 1:32 am
Thanks, Genre.
Indeed, I want to give Theo his 5 years, but it does not inspire confidence that he got his first managerial hire wrong.
Go Hawks!
