Finally, the Metrodome is no more.

Metrodome-explosion

It was a piece of shit stadium for a piece of shit football team with piece of shit fans. And some people may not agree with this: I don’t root for the Packers but I respect the hell out of them. The Minnesota Vikings are different. By far, the worst fan base in football and that includes fans of the Raiders. I don’t know who’s happier, Mac or myself, but him and I are excited that this dump is finally gone.

    So long Metrodome!

I know its off topic but its been popping up allot lately so heres my two cents..
Anyone else give a shit if an athlete is gay? I sure the hell dont. There have been openly gay women in the WNBA for years now and it doesnt reach headlines. I personally dont care if someone is gay or not. I think gay people need to realize that in this country they have a RIGHT to be gay, have a RIGHT to get married if they choose and have many other RIGHTS. I think they forget that people have the RIGHT to not agree with their choice as long as they do it civil manner. I hate when people are thrown under a bus for not agreeing with gay marriage. To me the word “Marriage” is a religious term and in religion a marriage is a unity between a man and woman. So if they want to use the term life partner or whatever thats fine I just feel they should not be using the word marriage.

I agree 100%. I do not give a shit at all. The way I see it, I’d rather have a gay player who is good at the sport than some murderer (Aaron Hernandez) or wife-beater (Ray Rice). All of this crap about Jason Collins and Michael Sam is unnecessary. Sure, I’m happy they came out but the media is beating this to the core. If other players don’t like it, they can go work somewhere else where they are less publicized.

  3. chucky Says:

But…..where will they go roller skating now?

Fro, did you watch Elimination Chamber last night? I did, and I have a few things to say about it, if you’re interested.

  4. Fro Dog Says:

I did watch the pay-per-view. Feel free to elaborate. The Wyatts and Shield had the match of the year. I knew that was going to be a great match. They should have saved it for Wrestlemania. I was fine with the ending of the main event too. Bryan should be in the triple-threat match and if not, it’s going to be an insane crowd in New Orleans.

Just to let you know, I tried signing up for the WWE Network this morning. It’s been down all day. That’s fine with me. A friend and I were going to split the cost but since we can’t sign in, we get to keep it for now.

  5. chucky Says:

You’re not alone in having problems. They must have hired the same incompetent hacks who engineered the Obamacare website.

    My thoughts on the PPV.

    1) Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. Ryback & Curtis Axel w/ Larry “The Axe” Hennig.
It was cool seeing “The Axe” again, it was good that they invited him to be ringside. Aside from Larry, not much to say. Throw away match.

    2) Big E (Champion) vs. Jack Swagger w/ Zeb Colter.
Big E. is starting to grow on me. With time and more experience, he could be something special. I hope he doesn’t turn into another Ezekiel Jackson. I’m done with the bullshit “Real American” shit. It isn’t working any more. Turn Cesaro face and give him a title shot or two. Swagger is a glorified jobber. I don’t think he’ll be anything more than that. And have Colter morph back to being Dutch Mantel, and drop the stupid tea bagger routine.

    3) The New Age Outlaws (Champions) vs. The Usos
Well, time sure hasn’t been kind to the Outlaws, has it? Why are they still holding onto the tag titles? Why did they get them in the first place? Rumor has it that there’s going to be a title change on Raw tonight, and that it’s the Uso’s beating the Outlaws. Should have happened last night.

    4) Darren Young vs. Titus O’Neil.
Meh. Not bad, but nothing special either. Next.

    5) The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family
Match of the year? Hell, that might qualify as match of decade so far. Absolutely awesome match. You already know I’m a huge mark for Roman Reigns, and he certainly was great again last night. But the guy who made a name for himself was Seth Rollins. He did an amazing job last night, and gets my vote for match MVP. And all the Wyatts were just total badasses. These guys are indeed the future.

    6) AJ Lee vs Cameron.
    DUD. Next.

    7) Batista vs. Alberto Del Rio.
The WWE would be wise to rethink their plans for big Dave. The crowd just absolutely shit all over him. And cheered Del Rio! If this had happened somewhere near Mexico it might be OK. IT HAPPENED IN FUCKING MINNESOTA!!!!! Even I didn’t think this would happen. The match was nothing, but they had better pay attention to these crowd reactions to Batista. Memo to Vince: DO NOT PUT THE TITLE ON BATISTA!

    8) Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Randy Orton (Champion) vs. John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Christian vs. Sheamus vs. Antonio Cesaro,

All I can say is the match had it’s moments. I wasn’t all that impressed, probably due to the match participants. Orton is just dead to me. I can’t stand the fucking sight of him anymore. Cena is nice guy, he does more than anybody else for Make-A-Wish, but dear god, he is sooooooo stale. Christian has just turned heel, but nobody has bothered to notice. Sheamus desperately needs to turn heel again, Cesaro needs a good face run. And Daniel Bryan has been screwed over so many times he could mistaken for a hooker at an Elks convention. I’m surprised he hasn’t quit yet, like Punk. He deserves to headline Wrestlemania, as World Champion. I’ve got more to say, but this is a lot to think about for right now. Sorry for the length of my little review. Hope it doesn’t put you to sleep.

I have to admit I am not as much of a wrestling fan as I used to be. About the time they started the WWE draft is when I kind of lost interest. I still catch a RAW or Smackdown here and there to see whats new but it will never be like it used to be. By the way, if anyone has Netflix check out the History of the WWE Documentary. Great show and fun to see allot of the old guys.

  7. Fro Dog Says:

You’re good. I am passing on getting the Network for now because the feedback has been horrendous. What the hell is McMahon thinking making people sign up on the day of the launch? He should have had people register two months ago so this wouldn’t happen. The way I see it, I still want to drive down to New Orleans in April for Wrestlemania regardless of the main event. I’ve always wanted to check the city out and am going to spend a few days down there hanging out with everyone. I can live without the Network.

  8. Cubs Bears Bulls Sox Suck Says:

New Orleans is Awesome! About 10 years ago a friend says hey man wanna take a ride to New Orleans? I wasnt doing anything and said sure why not. The city is amazing, everyone was very friendly and I wish I could go back. By the way Bourbon Street smells allot like Wrigley Field if you get homesick lol

  9. chucky Says:

Never been to New Orleans. CS, did you mean to say that Bourbon Street smells like piss?

  10. Fro Dog Says:

If it smells like Wrigley, I am going to be pissed (no pun intended). I haven’t been to that shit hole in years and for good reason.

  11. Cubs Bears Bulls Sox Suck Says:

    Like a urinal buddy!

  12. Fro Dog Says:

You should come with me to Wrestlemania. I think you can leave your family behind for a few days. Let’s party it up! First things first, we drive an hour north and drag Chucky out his dungeon.

  13. MadCityMac Says:

I would have given my left nut to push the button to blow up that fucking shithole. Only saw 2 games there; A Brewers-Twins game back in 1988, and Badgers-Rodents game about 8 years ago I think? Badgers won it late in the 4th quarter when the Gophs’ punter dropped the snap deep in their own territory, and then had the punt blocked with the Badgers recovering in the end zone. Gophers fans are not as bad as ‘queens fans. When the Gophs were in Madison a couple weeks back for hockey vs. the Badgers, we had some good-natured bullshitting going back and forth with a couple guys. But fucking Viking fans have absolutely no sense of humor whatsoever. Then again, if I had been cheering for that shit franchise for 50 years I might get it! Fuck ’em. Goodbye Metro-dump!

  14. MadCityMac Says:

Fro, New Orleans is awesome, even if you don’t drink. The food is incredible. I was down there with an ex-girlfriend maybe 6 years ago? Café du Monde for beignets and café au lait for breakfast- YUM! But yeah, Bourbon street smells like Ronnie Woo Woo after he pissed himself, or the pissers at that 100 year-old cathedral to losing baseball. I really need to go back; I’d actually love to go there for JazzFest; Springsteen is playing there this year. And New Orleans IS a drivable distance. We stayed in Memphis the first 2 nights on the way down, just because there was so much to see there. Must-see attractions, for me, were the Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Hotel, where Dr. King was shot, and Sun Records/Studio. Beale St. is great for food and music, but very touristy. Think of the Dells without the goddamn water parks. Yeah, I want to go back NOW!

  15. chucky Says:

You guys know how much I enjoy motorcycle racing. I’ve talked about going to Road America for years now. I’ve always wanted to go to Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham Alabama. Maybe after I do that I’ll just keep going south and check it out.

Fro….aren’t tickets for WrestleMania horribly overpriced? I might just prefer doing the internet stream instead.

  16. Cubs Bears Bulls Sox Suck Says:

I sure wish I could go but sadly I must decline. I did see tickets range from $35 for nosebleeds and $2000 for ringside. Not to bad.Im sure you can find very decent seats for around $200.

  17. Cubs Bears Bulls Sox Suck Says:

Fro, if you ever come through the Valley to visit friends and family or whatever and want to check these guys out let me know. http://www.dreamwavewrestling.com/index.htm
Also, what were your plans for accommodations in New Orleans? The reason I ask is the old lady is the GM at the Hampton and I can score you friends and family rate of $50 a night at any Hilton,Hampton,DoubleTree. Let me know.

  18. Fro Dog Says:

That’s probably what I will do. When I was at Wrestlemania 22 in Rosemont, I had some decent seats for about $75 and next year at Ford Field, I paid about $150 to sit literally, on the 20-yard line. New Orleans is about a 12-hour trip. I am sure I could make it down there in the same day. Memphis sounds like a nice pit stop though considering half of my trip will be just getting out of Illinois.

  19. jimmy d. Says:

    Hey Fro,

Do me a favor. Send my email address to CBBSS. I’d love to trade emails with him so that I could take him up on the accommodations offer…if he’s willing to share.

    Later,
    Jimmy D.

  20. Cubs Bears Bulls Sox Suck Says:

Hey Fro, Let Jimmy D know that I am willing to see what I can do. I think I just need a name and location and date you would prefer, I give you a reservation number, you go to their website and enter the number and get your room discount. Also let him know we have shared enough correspondence over the years it would be ok to ask me himself (wink wink)

  21. Fro Dog Says:

    CS,

That email has been sent. I will let you know in the next couple weeks if I am heading down there or not.

  22. Fro Dog Says:

I am sitting front row at Raw Monday night. The Larry Horse sign will be riding along with me.

  23. chucky Says:

Fro….Does Larry still want ice cream?

  24. Fro Dog Says:

Indeed, he does. He’s been waiting years for it too. ANGRY!

  25. chucky Says:

What about his title shot? Hopefully he’s still in line for that. There’s no way Orton can beat Larry Horse!
