Not taking advantage of the opportunities given

by

Well, Jay Cutler just threw his second pick of the game and I am not going to wait until the end of the game to write the recap.

Offense: The Bears had everything going for them on offense and Cutler just completely haulted two drives in a row with two interceptions. So yes CS, you were correct. Had he waited an extra second, he would have seen where Marshall was heading on that second pick. The Bears had chances to score touchdowns in the first half but Cutler threw a pass way too high. That resulted in the field goal. Then, Bennett was just shy of the goal line at the end.

Defense: It’s nice to see Chris Conte and the rest of the secondary return to suck. Aaron Rodgers told fans of the Packers last week to “relax”. What he meant by that was “Don’t worry. We play the Bears on Sunday.” Not having one or two players (Allen and Ratliff) is no excuse. The rest of the defense was horrible. As of this writing, the Packers have scored on every drive.

Special teams: What special teams?

Next up: The Panthers on the road.

These referees are fucking awful and that’s on both sides of the ball.

  2. dvxprime Says:

Come October, could you consider changing the mast to FIRE MEL TUCKER AND THE BEARS SECONDARY?

    Just a thought.

  3. Fro Dog Says:

Might as well, although I don’t want to “compete” with our good friends at Fire Ron Turner.

Damnit CS. Why do you always have to be right? I know you don’t want to be right with this crap but fuck. I need to start listening to you more.

  4. dvxprime Says:

At least we got Doug and OB.

  5. chucky Says:

    AND THEY’RE PISSED!

  6. Fro Dog Says:

My first day off in forever and I get treated to this shit? I am going to make good use of my day by cleaning the kitchen and mowing the lawn. What a waste of three hours I just had.

  7. chucky Says:

Fro….want to come over and do my lawn?

    HAHAHAHA!!!!!

I’ve been thinking, and guess who I pin this loss on today? Lovie FUCKING Smith! He stayed with that goddamned defense for so long that the Bears STILL haven’t recovered from it. And think about this too: If some of the dipshit Lovie Smith backers had gotten their way, and he ended up staying on. I’d bet money that Brian Urlacher would still be at linebacker! That’s how ignorant and stubborn that shitstain was, and still is. I know that Trestman and Emery both have had time to address this issue, and I honestly don’t know why they haven’t done a better job of doing so yet. This is on them too, don’t mistake me. But Chin scar gets the brunt of my wrath about the defense.

  8. Fro Dog Says:

I agree. The secondary became depleted last week though. The defense, after three games, is back to where they were last year. They drafted a bunch of help but the defense was in much worse shape than the offense was. It may take another offseason to add that depth.

And no, I don’t have time for your lawn. I am getting the sign ready for Raw tomorrow night. It will say “Brock Lesnar fears Larry Horse”. If you have a better idea, throw it my way before 9:00 tonight.

  9. chucky Says:

Do you still have your “Put some Pants On” that you used for CM Punk? You could bring that out for when Randy Orton comes out to put everyone to sleep. Other than, let me think about it for a while.

  10. sunrisezone Says:

Forte ran the ball, as he should have.

Trestman’s time management at the end of the first half was poor. As was his use of the challenge flag.

Going in, we were +4 on turnovers, but Cutler just had to reduce us back from that with his two picks…just like the seer bet he would.

The secondary got beat like a drum. The only time that I saw Conte was on missed tackles or covers.

Now we have to go to Green Bay and win there or beat Detroit twice?

  11. MadCityMac Says:

Guys, you know I’m a Packer fan, so I’ll give you this; Forte was carving up the Packers early. Pack couldn’t get their running game going. Aaron Rodgers went back to being Aaron Rodgers, and Bad Jay re-emerged. The officiating was fucking atrocious. On both sides of the ball. I’m feeling a little better about the Packers. Don’t know how you guys feel, other than it’s looking like a 3 way tie for 2nd. Or last. Or what-the-fuck-ever. Lions 3-1, everybody else at 2-2, at least if the Vi-queens hang onto what they’re doing, and they just scored. The whole damn thing’s a crapshoot.

On another note, thought I was going to be able to watch the Blackhawks against Edmonton streaming on the ‘Hawks website. Get on there and the cocksuckers tell me “not available in my area”. Yeah, I get it that the Blackhawks are the closest team to Madison, but how the FUCK is it that we’re in their TV market. Fuck shit piss. I’m really fucking pissed off about this. Cocksuckers…

  12. Fro Dog Says:

Chucky, I still have that sign. Actually, that sign was originally made for Orton. I agree about him putting people to sleep. The whole product has been garbage lately. The ratings are continuing to dip too and that’s on McMahon over-saturating the product. All of us are sick of the three hour Raws. It’s too much.

  13. abdallaha92 Says:

told u guys we shouldn’t of resigned him. he will NEVER beat rodgers. and idiots will still make excuses for him. its pathetic.

  14. chucky Says:

I missed it. Just when exactly did Cutler start playing on defense?

  15. abdallaha92 Says:

He isn’t on defense. chucky. But the packers don’t have a defense either. So its a shootout. We have the advantage in every offensive position except for QB. So why can’t cutler win a shootout against Rodgers? Cause he isn’t a winner. He’s got 12 more games to prove me wrong, don’t hold ur breath. Keep making excuses for him chucky, and before you know it we’ll have become the cubs of football. Enough making excuses and enough accepting mediocracy. Win or leave town.

  16. Fro Dog Says:

DAT CUTLER ISN’T A WINNER. EVERYTIME HE GOES OUT THERE…IT’S NO FIRE. NO PASSION. WE NEED A WINNER. BUT HEY…JOSH MCGOWAN IS ONE, MY FRENDT. HE’S GOT HEART.

  17. chucky Says:

Jay Cutler did not lose this game. Now granted, he didn’t win it either, but this lose wasn’t because of him. Green Bay stomped a mud hole in the Bears defense and walked it dry. It’s that simple. Aaron Rodgers had time to eat lunch and feel up his girlfriend before having to throw the ball. Don’t sit there and tell me that’s Cutler’s fault. That falls on Mel (F)ucker and his defense. Yes, Cutler threw two INT’s. One of them wasn’t even his fault. Marshall ran the wrong route. Are you going to hang that one on Cutler too? Add to that some very questionable play calling, and some of the worst officiating in league history, and it adds up to a Bears loss. You’ll find out you will have a lot more credibility when you point the blame where it belongs.

  18. sunrisezone Says:

With all due respect, I have to point out a few things. In grammar school I was taught that one tactic to use in persuasive writing is to acknowledge an opposing argument. After the ” Now granted, he didn’t win it either…” there is not a shred that argues against the statement made. So, I agree, Cutler did not win it.

I am willing to hang the throw to Marshall on Cutler. Cutler had time on that throw. It wasn’t a bang bang play. Marshall was 25 yards further down the field than the DB that Cutler threw the ball to, right between his numbers. Marshall no doubt, had he been seen by the QB, would have had a TD.

Above, several posters did mention the officiating, the secondary, and Trestman too. There is a lot of blame to go all around. IMHO, though, refusing to point any blame at Cutler as “not belonging” to hang on his neck is a mistake.

  19. chucky Says:

Cutler should get some of the blame too. I don’t deny that. I’m just saying that he shouldn’t get all of it.

  20. sunrisezone Says:

I agree. And on the defensive side of the ball, aside from the awful Mel Tucker, new coaches Reggie Herring and Paul Pasqualoni should be held accountable. Herring is the new LB coach and Pasqualoni is the new DL coach. Herring and Pasqualoni both have a tie to Joe DeCamillis via Dallas.

  21. abdallaha92 Says:

Mel Tucker should be fired. The thing is, we’ve assembled the best offensive talent a QB can ask for, and we’re paying Cutler elite QB money. He has to help us win.

  22. chucky Says:

abdallah……god couldn’t have won that game. What you’re doing is the reverse of Lovie Smith. Chin scar had a huge over reliance on the defense to overcome a terrible offense, to the point where he kept a lot of players longer that he should have. What you are doing is over relying on the offense to overcome the lack of defense. Cutler could a passer rating of 110 for the last 12 games, and they still would be lucky to come out winning half, because that defense will just give it right back.

Look, I understand you hate Cutler. I’m OK with that. But please, that loss wasn’t just on him. That defense couldn’t stop a high school team at this point. You’re absolutely correct in saying Tucker should be shitcanned. I’ve heard rumors, and I don’t really know how accurate they are, that the Bears are hoping that the Jets fire Rex Ryan so that they can get him.

One thing I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around is that the Bears got nearly 500 yards of total offense, yet only scored 17 points. There was also a huge gap in time of possession, yet the Bears were just stomped. Wasn’t Green Bays ToP something like only 23 minutes, and they still racked up 38 points? That tells me the defense just let them march right down their throats. Even if god was your QB, you aren’t winning very many games with numbers like that.

I’m not looking to get into a pissing contest with you. I’m willing to speak rationally about this. For my part, I’ll try keeping it civil.

  23. sunrisezone Says:

“What you’re doing is the reverse of Lovie Smith. Chin scar had a huge over reliance on the defense to overcome a terrible offense…”

    I agree completely.
