He was the director of player personnel for the Saints. He’s from outside the organization, unlike Emery, who was a former scout. If this was Ernie Accorsi’s choice, I am all for it. I’d like to think it was.

He has experience with only one organization, New Orleans, which hasn’t been at its apex. Another commenter noted that the only qualifications for Pace’s former position with the Saints are three suits, two ties, and a clean shave. He got good reviews from Loomis, but what is to be expected after their years together? So far, I am just going on as to “Well, but that doesn’t disqualify him,” but as was mentioned above, if he was Accorsi’s best recommendation, then that probably says something good about him. Hell, who can you trust.

Continuing on, there is at least this much good to be said about Pace: he comes from outside of the Bears. That he is the youngest GM in the NFL is a dubious distinction. Until we start hearing about both the good and the bad points about this hire, I’m waiting. So far, Loomis and Coach Payton are the ones everybody is running to for quotes and those two aren’t saying anything unglamorous about Pace, who spent 14 years at New Orleans.

By the way, the press conference just started. And who’s leading the way? Ted fucking Phillips.
Come on George, get this damn hack away from the team.
January 9, 2015 at 11:24 am
Someone seriously needs to tell George to dump this assclown. And I’m afraid that the OLD BITCH isn’t the one to do it. The last time I checked, she was still in her coma, and pissed off.
Even if the Bears end up hiring the right people for GM and head coach, I’ll bet money they still fuck it up somehow, just because it’s the fucking Bears. I seriously can’t stand the McCaskey family anymore. Every fucking one of them.

I started watching the press conference late. I’ll get it in its entirety later. Maybe it’s me, but the part I saw had Pace mentioning Loomis and Payton repeatedly. Pace also seemed to give a bow toward Philiips. He definitely flatly stated that he believes in building with a solid defense. Hands down funniest moment was when a reporter asked him if he’ll be meeting with Cutler soon, and Pace responded that he’s “Managed to find his office this morning, and will be looking to hire a new head coach …before meeting with Cutler.” What a question.

Good answer.

The Bears have the introductory presser on their website. It’s worth another watch. The question and answer I referenced come almost at the very end. It was a good answer. I’m also wondering if it will seem like an eternity for us to get a HC because maybe the cabal is interested in someone still involved in the playoffs.

Uhhh…….I don’t know about this…thoughts?
January 11, 2015 at 5:56 pm
I don’t think that would be a good option. Kubiak failed in Houston. The Texans are now a mess. No, thanks. My guess is, the Bears will still go for someone without head coaching experience because let’s face it, that’s what they usually do. If that’s the case, Todd Bowles would be their best choice with that. For former head coaches, it would be Shanahan.

Andrew Luck you are the SHIT!
Dickface wishes he was half the QB.
January 11, 2015 at 10:57 pm
Heh. And hey, even though I wasn’t rooting for the Packers, seeing Rodgers kick ass on one leg is pretty damn impressive. A one-legged Aaron Rodgers is better than a healthy Dick face.
It’s just a shame. I don’t hate the Packers but obviously, I don’t root for them. And as it’s been stated here in the past, I can’t stand the Seahawks. I am rooting for either the Colts or Patriots in the Super Bowl.
January 11, 2015 at 11:15 pm
Yes, Rodgers is great. As is Brady.
January 12, 2015 at 7:14 am
Forget Kubiak. He’s staying in Baltimore.
January 12, 2015 at 7:19 am
An interesting point was raised by Pat Tomasulo on WGN morning news while discussing Gary Kubiak. The point was, if the Bears are such a classic and therefore desirable destination, then why does someone like Kubiak say “No thanks, I’d rather stay on as the Ravens offensive coordinator?” Several teams were interested in Kubiak, so it’s not like he said no just to the Bears. But, Kubiak’s announcement came about 12 hours after the Bears had been reported to have heightened interest in him. Maybe personal, not professional feelings?

Kubiak Shmubiak……move along.
January 12, 2015 at 7:53 am
yeah, fuck him and back to the rock he crawled out from under…
I’m hoping for a defensive minded coach like pace seemed to indicate
January 12, 2015 at 10:01 am
I don’t care who they hire as coach, just make sure he’s not some fucking weirdo afflicted with word salad.
January 12, 2015 at 10:04 am
Chucky, you need to check your toolbox of concepts. Before you ask me what has made me critical of this whole situation, let me get back to you. I haven’t looked at the tape yet.
January 13, 2015 at 7:05 am
Fro….let me know when you’re done. We can grow the man together. By the way, does Ryan Pace’s highway have any dust on it?
January 14, 2015 at 12:50 am
“grow the man, grow the ball” https://twitter.com/TrestmanSays
January 14, 2015 at 12:13 pm
So Genre, does that mean you want to join Chucky and I in attempting to grow the man? You want to grow the ball too?
Trestman at his first press conference: “I love ball”.
January 14, 2015 at 7:56 pm
YES, I want to grow the ball…Jay is NOT my quarterback…we like our team….errrrrrr (it all runs together).
May I have a nice vinaigrette with my word salad?
