Well, it wasn’t a great way to start the 2015 season, right? But it’s only one game…trying to be optimistic, after all these years. I think the Cubs are headed in a better direction. That said, what do I know? Your guess is as good as mine. Thoughts? (…tick tock…tick tock…tick tock)

This isn’t an overnight turnaround. I’m not sure how media & Vegas spun the Cubs from cellar to WS contenders after signing Jon Lester (he’s a solid ace but not elite e.g. Kershaw/Bumgarner). Lester isn’t changing a 73-win team into 90-plus. Hell, their starting pitching has never been their biggest issue to begin with; they just keep trading off their best pichers (e.g. Samardzija) at the trade deadline.
Too many young players who still yet have to learn the ropes. These analysts act as if Jorge Soler and Kris Bryant will smash 40 homers in their first full seasons. The reality is that Rizzo needed time…Baez has shown that he’ll need time…and most of these prospects will need time also before they emerge as dominant lineup pieces.
I’d say an 81-81ish season with some of the young prospects really breaking through during the last two months is what I’d “optimistically” expect from this season. Anything else is bonus.

IRT Cubs fans pissing in plastic cups because there were long lines at the only two restrooms the Cubs had open:
Okay, I will own this one. I posted here in an open letter to Thoe that the bleachers needed to be fixed. I got tired of seeing pictures on the internet with birdshot and garbage filled bleachers, and drunken fans doing nothing but getting into brawls. The winter renovations, the inevitable delays, the plague of rats in the immediate area, and last night’s fiasco…yup, I asked for it.
That being said, what have the Cubs, as a franchise, done to start shedding the culture of losing that seems to stick to this team?

Well stated, Pie.

It’s only one game, but I got a real sense of dread of more of the same Sunday night. I wasn’t expecting to make the playoffs this year, but to be a little over .500 and maybe contend for the 2nd wildcard. I really hate fucking night games-especially in April and I hate opening against the Cardinals. I was hoping to watch games all season this year-haven’t watched any really since last playoff debacle. So, I’m hoping they don’t start off by shitting the bed and turning me off early. Umm. whatever

My frendts. I think any remaining people who are saying the Cubs will be real WS contenders are out of their fucking minds. We already know this is true of the sheeple. baaaaaaaah baaaaaaaaaah baaaaaaaahhhh
April 7, 2015 at 10:38 pm
….all teams are contenders TODAY (on paper).
April 8, 2015 at 5:27 pm
Beat the fucking Cardinals!

Chucky, you ok?
April 10, 2015 at 7:40 am
CBSS…..I’m on the mend. Thank you very much for asking my frendt! It’s appreciated. Getting your shoulder reworked does suck goat balls though, I’ll don’t mind telling ya! I have to say this, I’m still in a lot of pain from the surgery, and at times it can be pretty intense. Also, there’s a large bump on one of the entry points, the one where I think he pulled the three screws that were supposed to hold my shoulder joint together. I hope that goes down soon. Other than that I’m OK.

Glad your ok Chucky and your surgery was a success.
April 11, 2015 at 7:42 am
I’m not calling it a success ye. That will be a few months down the road. But thanks for the well wishes my fitness frendt!

Oh bot, that was bad!
April 12, 2015 at 6:53 pm

We still get to make fun of LaToya…after all these years. Who’d a thunk it???
April 12, 2015 at 9:12 pm
I know…but we gotta have some fun around the Cubs (while we wait…)
April 13, 2015 at 8:57 am
I didn’t even know LaChoke was still in the league, what a nice day!!
Guys, do you know if the Cubs are still limited to 30 night games a year? Because I count 7 fucking night games in April! I do hate night baseball at Wrigley, but if it must happen, and it’s limited to 30, the games should be in June, July and August when it’s hot-not fucking April!!
April 13, 2015 at 10:30 am
Nemo…..that’s just one more reason why the Cubs should have never considered rebuilding that toilet and moved the fuck away from the Wrigley Urinal. Imagine the stadium they could be playing in if Fanboy Ricketts wasn’t so goddamned sentimental. No matter what they do to rebuild Wrigley, that place will spell like piss till the end of time.
And how soon will be until someone takes a bat to Clark the Cub’s head? Any odds on that yet?
April 13, 2015 at 7:22 pm
Chucky, hope everything mends up well my frendt. Guys, apparently, LaToya is retiring after this season. I myself thought he had already retired; thinking that twatwaffle might want to hang it up BEFORE the season ends. Go Hawks!
