Well, it appears that the Blackhawks could be fucked as an organization, if Patrick Kane is indeed, charged. I am praying it’s not true but from the reports are saying, none of them are good.
In lighter news, apparently, Jay Cutler is “looking great” in camp. I am not sure if he has thrown any interceptions yet, but I would assume they are forthcoming. Likewise for overthrowing receivers. And the Bears have Shea McClellin calling plays on defense as an inside linebacker in the new 3-4 defense.
Fire away.

I heard Arkush on the radio yesterday say that if Kane is guilty, he hopes they lock him up and throw away the key. If he’s not guilty he hopes he’s put into rehab by next week. It sounds to me like this guy has one hell of a serious drinking problem. And he needs to be dried out, one way or the other. Here’s my question, which is aimed more toward the business end of this situation. If he’s convicted, and has to do some time in prison(serious time, like several years), what are the Blackhawks options? Can they terminate his contract, and if so, how does that affect the salary cap? Truthfully, I have never understood the NHL salary cap rules. Every team that wins the cup seem to get penalized for doing so. Anyway, does anybody know how this would work out?

I am not an expert on the cap either (it’s pretty damn complicated when it comes to hockey), but there could be a clause in the CBA or even his contract that states if anything like this happens, they can terminate it. They could still be on the hook for some type of cap hit.
And what I am about to say could be pure fictional. I am not one to start a rumor or keep one going. But, I have seen several things coming out online that says the bar that he possibly met this girl is known for letting in underage kids. I believe this bar is near a beach where not a lot of police presence is around and that’s why this place never gets busted.
It could have been very possible that Kane was with a woman who was underage. I am not trying to defend anybody, but if this is true, the bar should be shut down. It would be real shitty if a woman lied about her age to him and this happened. There are stories all the time about women lying about their ages and therefore, men getting busted for shit. Is he suppose to ask for an ID before doing something with her? That would really fucking suck.
There are a bunch of possibilities, whether it’s one I mentioned, or that he may have actually assaulted her. Then, I think of the Kobe Bryant situation 12 years ago where the woman didn’t testify and there were reports of her past coming out.
At the end of the day, he shouldn’t have put himself in that position to begin with. The guy makes millions of dollars. It shouldn’t have to be like this, but it is. People should be able to go out to whatever place to eat or drink if they want.

I think the Kobe situation there was a problem with the sexual relations being consensual until he went down the dirt road and sodomized the schooner whore.
Anyway you look at it… Send lawyers, guns, and money. The shit has hit the fan.

Here’s more on that Kobe thing from one of the accuser’s best friends. I remember hearing about this back then, too. Make of it what you will.

I think any time from now on that I bring a bar skank home, I am going to go “Chapelle’s Show” on her and have her sign a waiver agreement that before she sleeps with me, she needs to agree on a few things. That way, I won’t have to worry about this shit.

CS, you may be ANGRY after reading this story:

And the curse of babes in Chicago sports continues. I have been meaning to write about this the last few weeks but didn’t have time. Two contestants in this year’s Tournament of Babes have left the city.
First, Jen Lada left Comcast SportsNet last month to take a job at ESPN Radio in Connecticut. ANGRY.
And to make matters worse, this year’s winner, Lyndsay Petruny, left the Bears to be closer to family in Ohio.
I think we should stop having tournaments. Nothing but awful things happen when we do. The babes either get fired or leave for other jobs.

As long as MY lady stays in Chicago, I’m fine. Cheryl Scott just CANNOT leave.

Not too angry about Natalie. I’m just thinking like most marriages these days she we get tired of eating raisin bran every single day for breakfast and I will be waiting, with a box of frosted flakes.

Alright, I know Lance Briggs didn’t really give a shit in his last year with the Bears (who did?) but after seeing this article, I was reminded why I loved the guy when he did play.

It’s too bad he didn’t actually act on what he wanted to do with those quarterbacks.

I know it’s just the preseason but wow. The Bears really made me have flashbacks of the last 15 years by letting the Dolphins, ON THEIR FIRST DRIVE OF THE GAME, go 15 plays and chew up half the clock to get a touchdown. The Bears stopped them on third down, but a glorious offsides penalty gave the Dolphins one more play.
It could be a prequel to the whole “Meet the new Bears. Same as the old ones.”

False start by Jordin Mills on the first play on offense and a three and out.
