Gentle reminder: it’s been awhile.
You know what? This season is far from over. The Cubs are not a lock to win anything.
I believe that Joe Maddon is an A-List manager, but the lack of solid relief pitching will bite the Cub’s in their collective asses if moves aren’t made to bolster the pen.
I invite you all to weigh in and stir the pot.

Good morning, y’all…
Okay, who’s on the shit list IRT the bullpen?
June 26, 2016 at 9:10 am
Everyone other than Rondon and maybe Cahill. Concepcion hasn’t been around long enough.

Oh, and Wood has been pretty reliable.

Personally, I’d like to punch Justin Grime and Pedro FUCKING Jock Strop right in the fucking nuts. Is that allowed?

“Personally, I’d like to punch Justin Grime and Pedro FUCKING Jock Strop right in the fucking nuts. Is that allowed?”
Wait a minute, I’m on the phone with Theo … “hey, Theo, is it okay? Good.” Yeah, Chucky, Theo gives the thumbs up. His only condition is that you let him go first. Deal?
Personally, I think the Cubs were playing way…way…way over their heads, and now they are returning to reality. That starting pitching was never that good. And I knew the bullpen was a disaster even in April Heyward is a stone-cold bust. And the kids are going to be fine, but they’re still kids learning the game.
If Theo can make a trade for a solid left-handed reliever, and a better catcher than that bum Montero (Contreras is our future), then they’ve got a shot. But, I think Hammel, Lackey, and probably Lester are going to be less than average from here on out. That leaves Hendricks (he’s still learning to pitch), and Arrieta (he seems to be coughing smoke too) to get you through September and October. I just don’t think that’s going to get it done.

No deal Ernie. What’s the point of me coming in when they’re already wounded? And rest assured, when I get done with them, there won’t be enough of them left to be left bleeding in the moonlight. You see, punching them is only the beginning. I also plan on hitting them in the face with a piece of heavy mining equipment, disemboweling them with a wooden cooking spoon, castrating them with rusty fishing knives, them I’m going to throw them screaming from a helicopter. If there’s anything left of them after that, tell Theo to help himself. That’s the deal. OK Ernie?

“That’s the deal. OK Ernie?” Theo says, “Okay, I guess, but make sure he cleans up the mess.”

I see Arrieta attempted to clog the bases tonite, and pitched poorly. Not good.

I won’t clean it up for some time Ernie. I want to enjoy this for awhile.

And Rondon blew it AGAIN…

Can this bullpen hold a lead? Uhhhhhhh…nah. Goodbye playoffs, nice to know ya!
June 28, 2016 at 10:59 pm
Are the Cubs in the market for a closer? I sure as fuck hope so!
….oddly enough, once Rondon shit the bed, the pen hung on…that said, they are playing the Reds…
tick FUCKING tock…

Watching the Mets come back from a 3-0 deficit to lead 4-3, thanks to the horrendous bullpen, and fielding errors, and, knowing their inability to rally, this will be another one-run loss. Here’s the way I see it, this team may make the playoffs, but their no-bullpen, except for maybe Rondon, is not a playoff bullpen, and the defense is not playoff ready. No question about it, the Cubs have a real nice foundation for future success. But, they need better starting pitching, a better bullpen, and better defense if they are serious about moving into the World Series, and actually winning the thing.
