What’s on YOUR mind?

Yeah, I got one, what was Maddon’s strategy leaving Edwards out there for an unmitigated butt stomping? A game that was winnable, just went out of reach. He couldn’t have brought in Montgomery to potentially stop the bleeding?

Ah, yes! Look at that “clutch hitting”! Bases loaded in bottom of the seventh with a chance to blow the game open with their second, third and fourth hitters, and what do they do? Nothing, not even a sacrifice fly ball.
Like I’ve said, if that doesn’t change this team goes nowhere in the playoffs.

Ha! Ha! Next inning; single, single, and blowie! Cards now up 4-3 in eighth! This team is too easy to mock. Oh well, they still have the best record in baseball. Right Cubbie sheepie?

A commenter over at another blog said this about Cub lack of clutch hitting: “I don’t mean swing and miss – that happens – I mean pushing the ball to the opposite field, elevating it into the outfield for a sac fly – bunting a runner over – situational hitting. We suck at it.”
Exactly. They haven’t been doing it consistently all season long.
Looks like I’m the only guy on tonight so I’ll say good night. But, this is the reason the eleven game winning streak meant nothing to me. This team still has glaring weaknesses that have yet to be addressed. All the Cardinals (a good team) did was expose it.

Okay, Genre, here’s the headline for Cubs Nation: “May I please remind you the lead will be 12 games if the score holds up.” – Neal over at CCO.
This is what drives me up the wall! Who gives a tinker’s damn about the frikking Division! It’s the Pennant and the World Series you idiot! Chucky help me out here.

Is it fair to say that the bullpen is a cause for concern?

I’m sorry Ernie. I’m just too pissed off to help right now. I’ll try to help you out later.

Until this organization can put a team on the field that can actually score a run with the bases loaded and nobody out; can actually hold a lead in the eighth inning; can hire a DJ they don’t have to fire near the end of the season, and can actually win an NLCS for once (I firmly believe that if they could move past that barrier they win the W.S.), I have absolutely no confidence in this team! Zero!
I don’t care if they won every single game to the end of the season! Win the NLCS or forget it! Now get off my lawn!

ernie, with the exception of the DJ (a truly pathetic douche, but a non-factor). I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said.
Especially the “get off my lawn!”.
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ….tick…tock.
