Jimi Hendrix: I think it was Stevie Vai who said of him, “Without Jimi hendrix, we’d all still be jamming to ‘Louie, Louie.” That’s knowing that his contemporaries were Jimmy Page and Jeff beck.
I always thought that Janis Joplin’s career was a fraud. Mama Cass Elliot, Grace Slick, Linda Ronstadt, Diana Ross…Janis is cool, as long as you’re smoking the right dope…
Good to see that Pete Townshend of The Who is still writing and performing at SEVENTY, but it’s kind of hard to keep having Who anniversary tours when your rhythm section (Keith Moon and John Entwistle) “died before they got old.”
I’m sorry I have no idea who the other black fella is.
Do you actually have the book, genre? Is it a good read? Should Dusty consider a career as a music critic for Rolling Stone?
