Hey men
I feel compelled to explain my absence this week. I just felt the need to take a little break from everything. I’ve been kind of down with the state of Chicago sports. I mean look at our teams:
Blackhawks: They have something to cheer for with rookie Connor Bedard. Too bad I’m not a huge fan of hockey. Will they be any good? Time will tell.
White Sox: Nobody cares, including the owners.
Cubs: Why the fuck is David Ross and Jed Clampett still employed? This September collapse falls right on their fucking doorstep. So what happens? Fanboy Ricketts gives them both a vote of confidence. I’m glad I taped the 2016 World Series. It’s the only one we’re getting.
Bulls: Perhaps the biggest question mark of all. I honestly have no idea how to judge them. I’ll go out on a limb and say they’re a .500 team, at best. Which means they’re in basketball purgatory, and spinning their wheels there.
And last, and least, the goddamned Bears: Fro, I’m with you. I’m not fooled for a second. This team sucks. It’s a rotting corpse, from top to bottom. Until the McCaskey Crime Family sells this team, we’re going to get shitty GM’s and shitty head coaches for the foreseeable future. This team is completely hopeless, and perhaps that’s where some of my despair came from. Fuck the Bears.
But last night I got some news that completely lifted my spirits. Tom FUCKING Skilling, a piece of shit who has annoyed me for fucking decades with his ridiculously long-winded forecasts, not mention inaccurate as hell too, his confusing weather maps, and phony as a three-dollar bill homespun act, IS FINALLY FUCKING RETIRING!!!!! I couldn’t fucking believe it! Finally, this fake-ass “weatherman” is FINALLY HANGING IT UP!!!!!!
I know you try keep this dark corner sports oriented Fro, But I do want to thank you for indulging me a little with this little peccadillo of mine. I really do appreciate it.

Chucky, I still don’t know how much piss that man put in your Cheerios, but damn man, holy shit. I wish they did profile pictures here. Just for that tirade about one of my favorite Chicago news personalities, I want to put me standing next to him as a profile picture to torture the hell out of ya, lol. I knew as soon as he announced his retirement, I’d find you here within a day.
But I digress, Blackhawks look good, perhaps a low seed playoff team at best. Goaltending seems to be an issue that needs to tightened up a bit, but Connor Bedard is exciting. I will definitely watch more hockey this season.

Oh, and Dave, I do hope you were kidding about that shit rat Skilling being one of your favorites. The man is a complete phony. His homespun act is just that, an act. I’m sorry you fell for it. He’s a man completely consumed by his own importance. The biggest farce I think I’ve ever seen with this pompous asshole was when he cried at some rare solar eclipse. I generally try not to make fun of another man’s emotions but come on, man! It wasn’t even fucking real! Anybody with one functioning eyeball and two brain cells to rub together could see how fake that whole scene was! Now we have WGN showing past clips and telling what a wonderful guy he is. BULL-FUCKING-SHIT!!! Skilling has put on this bullshit “oh golly, shucks!” routine for 45 fucking years. It’s remarkably easy to see through it. I’m astounded by how many people have fallen for it.

I believe we went over this before in a previous thread ,Chucky. Since age 12 I have spent many hours talking meteorology in person with him long after his annual Fermilab seminars he used to do would end, so I have the credibility to say he is not a pompous phony and knows what he is talking about. But if you want to go deeper in discussion about this, be my guest. No I am not kidding, yes he is and always will be one of my favorite Chicago media people, and was an inspiration for me to try to become a meteorologist myself. Unfortunately, I was a financial dropout from NIU; I repeated calculus too many times, but am 6 credits and an internship short of a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Meteorology, so quite frankly I would know what I am talking about as well. And I’d love to finish my degree in the future when I can make the time.

Chuckster! You’re disdain for Tom Skilling is on a level that no one else can top. I have to give you credit for that.
That being said, Dave is our long time frendt here. If he had a great experience with someone you don’t like, you can’t argue with him. My only complaint about Mr. Skilling over the years was that it takes him 45 minutes to give us the forecast for the next day.
But damn, you are very ANGRY! Don’t worry. Your rants on anything are always welcome here. Just please, put the chainsaw away.

Yes, my disdain for Skilling has been a long time in the making. As Fro stated, he takes FOREVER to get the forecasts. My interactions with him have been vis email, and they weren’t pleasant at all. I admit, I was a dick to him, but it also happened after a particularly painful and long-winded forecast. He shot my venom right back at me, I guess you could say. So, I’ll just leave it at I thoroughly despise her long-winded, bullshit homespun act, and that’s all I will say about him. Dave, if you like him, it’s all good. I don’t mean to give any grief about it, at all.
Now, onto a subject of some importance to us all, just how badly will the split personality disorder inspired Bears play today. I hope they can do justice to the memory of Dick Butkus, or will they shit the bed like they’re so prone to do?
