If anyone actually said the Bears were going to do what they did tonight, I would call you a liar.
I cannot believe this happened. Sure, the Bears have that one game every year where no one expects them to win. Is this the one? Or is it still ahead of them? I was frustrated at the defense on a couple drives giving up some plays. But overall, they stopped the Eagles when it mattered the most. The season is saved for now.
Case Keenum is the player of the game. And again, if anyone said he was going to play like this, you are a liar. Ben Johnson put him in a position to fail on one drive that left the team empty-handed. But holy shit, what a night. He was making some crazy passes off the back of his foot. He was making crisp passes all night and the receivers didn’t let him down. Certainly, that drop by Odunze that fucked up the drive at the goal line pissed me off. But he made up for it with key catches afterwards. Either Ben Johnson actually used common sense or Case Keenum ignored whatever call was made when he rushed it for a touchdown at the goal line late in the game to put it away. My guess is Keenum knew the call by Johnson was fucking stupid and ran it the yard up for the touchdown.
I was pleased with the running game on a tough night. In the second half, it picked up even more. Swift and Monongai contributed in the second half that helped put the game away.
The defense. I am going to be pissed off for a couple different reasons. First, letting the Eagles go 95 yards was inexcusable. If it wasn’t for Jalen Hurts needing to be examined for a concussion, that game ends up being tied. Andy Dalton came in and threw the ball right to Daniel Thieneman. Penalties by the Eagles also fucked up things. But the defense letting the Eagles drive down with ease right before halftime and then letting them drive down late to try to cut the game to two touchdowns is inexcusable.
At least the Bears won. The Jets are next on the schedule. We’ll see what happens. I am going to bed now.

Goddamnit Fro, my fucking head hurts after that one. There is one thing I need to stop doing, and that is to STOP FUCKING GUESSING WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK THE GODDAMN BEARS WILL DO!!!!!!!!!! I CAN’T DO IT.
Seriously Fro, and I truly mean this; if I ever decide to guess the outcome of another Bears game, I want you to take my chainsaw to the top of my head and saw my stupid, sorry ass straight down to my fucking nutsack!!!!! Obviously I can’t predict that fucking sun rising in the east and setting in the west. What the fuck makes me think I can at this point? I am, by far, the worst that there is!

You know what? You’ve been right most of the time. As I told everyone here all these years, there is always one game every year where the Bears shock us all by winning a game like this. So that may be the case here. Let’s see how things go next week.

CS, that was one pathetic showing. The Cubs should be ashamed of themselves. There’s an old saying, and it pretty much applies to every sport. It goes “Anything can happen once you’re in the playoffs. All you have to do is get there.” Well, all I can say is BULL-FUCKING-SHIT!!! Anybody with two brain cells and a set of semi-functioning eyeballs could see this outcome. The pitching staff was in tatters, and all of a sudden the bats went ice cold. It was like it was 2020 all over again. Limp into the playoffs, then get swept 2-0, scoring a grand total of one lousy fucking run. Jed fucking Hoyer is a goddamned idiot!!!! And he’s trying to win by going cheap. He really needs to go. And quite frankly, so does most of the team as well. Right now the only guy I’d consider untouchable would be Pete Crow-Armstrong. The rest of them can fuck off for all I care.

Chucky, I couldn’t agree more. Abysmal showing by the Cubs. Hoyer built a team to live and die by the bats with no pitching and the worst bullpen in MLB. Sadly, like every other GM in Chicago sports, he will be back next year. Always a Cubs fan here but I will be rooting for the White Sox to make some noise. Also, the Blackhawks start their season tonight but I don’t have high hopes for them, but hey, we got hockey!
