The picture below is something we have never seen in our lives as Bears fans: A quarterback on our team. This is what they look like. Weird huh? Now take a second to take it in. Now pray to God he doesn’t get hurt. For the best coverage of all things Bears, you all should check out the guys over at Fire Ron Turner. I also have their website link on the right side of the home page. Along with GenreBuster’s music site. Good stuff.

He Can Throw Too!

I’m not so much worried about whether or not he gets injured, but rather how long it will take for Lovie, Turner and anybody else involved to completely destroy him as a quarterback. It would surprise me at all that they completely handcuff him most of the year.

  2. chucky Says:

    It wouldn’t surprise me……

    It’s still early.

  3. Dave Says:

Yeah Jay Cutler will do good for this team if they play to his strengths. Still gotta fix the overrated defense though.

In other news, what is all this crap I’m hearing about a potential trade between the White Sox and the Padres? White Sox going after Peavy? FUUUUUCCCCCKKKKK NOOOOOOOO!!!

Get on the ball Hendry, Peavy is supposed to be ours!!

  4. ksmc2000 Says:

I am confident that Cutler will give Lovie and Turner no other choice than being more pass orientated. The recievers that were non-existant in seasons past will thrive with Cutler’s ability to get the ball to them. It should be a good balance in the offensive game plan with Forte’s talents running and making catches out of the backfield. He reminds me of a Roger Craig type back. Kevin Jones is looking good in the practices also.

I am impressed with Cutler’s work ethic since the day he arrived in Chicago. He has made all voluntary workouts and mini-camps. He’s also put in countless hours after practice working on the offensive scheme. I recently heard an interview with Greg Olsen, and he was asked about Cutler’s arm strenghth. He said there is nobody on the team that can outrun his bombs, not even Hester. Grossman or Orton were never capable of stretching the field like Cutler can. It’s gonna be fun to watch.

  5. robert Says:

maybe its just me but LOU Pinella is the most over rated manager in history

1 he just sits there like a bump on a log
2 When he won his World Series he did it with Jose Rijo (who at the time was one of the elite pitchers in baseball) and the nasty boys
3When he won in Seattle he had Griffey AROD and Randy Johnson
and he had a bunch of guys having carrer years Mike Cameron Jamie Moyer etc etc
4 he got exposed in the playoffs in his magical 116 win season and several other seasons
5 what did he do in tampa what has tampa done since getting rid of him
Maybe its just me but milton bradley is the second coming of Jaques Jones
Maybe its just me but aaron Miles is another Neifi Perez
Kevin Gregg is another BOB HOWRY
WAS milton bradley the worst free agent signing ranks up there with Jaques Jones and Mel Rojas
    Maybe its just me

  6. chucky Says:

No Robert, it’s not you. Sadly, you just so happen to be right.

  7. genrebuster Says:

  8. Ron Santo's Legs Says:

five game losing streak…i wonder if the sheeple are going to come around this blog again and tell us we are idiots for not thinking this team was going to win the division.

    as genrebuster would say…baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  9. robert Says:

5 game roadtrip 5 losses cant score more than 1 run in any game fuck this team

  10. genrebuster Says:

Yes, indeed Ron! Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

From where I sit, no real surprises this season. Unless changes are made, I don’t expect the Cubs to make the playoffs.

Funny thing is, I don’t even care anymore. It’s kinda like a bad joke that you’ve heard before…time and again…it was never funny to begin with…just PATHETIC.

I completely understand Fro backing away from the Cubs, suppose I’m already on that path, too. I rarely watch the Cubs on TV and I will NOT attend any future games at “Wrigley Stadium” until the Cubs are sold.

Would like to be more optimistic…so still looking for Morpheus’s supplier, maybe sunnier days are ahead.

  11. robert Says:

Lou Pinella I would like to congratulate you for doing the impossible and proving you are more inept than John Baker…

Lou How did you do it?

I I I I couldnt have done it alone…I mean I ordered the team to get more left handed and did not want Mark Derosa on the team So I got rid of him and got Aaron Miles…I also did not want a guy who was a team leader you know the guy who screamed in 02 I am tired of this loosing… who said after the 03 playoffs it was my fault I choked…the guy who in 04 smashed Sammy Sosas Boombox to smithereens they guy whose carreer should have been over but came back over and over in Kerry Wood…I also did not want a guy like Jim Edmonds so I went and got Milton Bradley…

I also needed bullpen help so I was so happy the cubs went out and got Kevin Gagme..And a guy who could come in a close game and give up a big Homerun in Aaron Heilmann I I I I also have Neal sucking Cocks in my bullpen so if we ever do get a lead he can come in and Blow it..

Lou with Harden out what do you intend to do… Well Jason Marquis has 5 wins I think he could fill in pretty well….Lou you traded him…I I I did…who did we get…Luis Vizcaino he pitched 4 innings for you and gave up no runs….well we we we we cannot have guys in our bullpen who come in and get guys out….that is ridiculous…that is why I got rid of Kerry Wood and Scott Eyre and him….

    I guess I I I I I am pretty impotent as you say

  12. genrebuster Says:

Like I’ve said, it trickles down from the top…

Lou, are YOU having fun yet?

Business as usual for the most inept organization in the history of professional sports…oh wait, they’ve made a shitload of money so pardon me!

Truly, truly PATHETIC. Maybe if the losing streak continues some heads will finally roll.

Sell the Cubs. FIRE JIM HENDRY.

  13. chucky Says:

That post is absolutely awesome. I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. Well done. And thank you for the laughs during an absolute bullshit season so far.

  14. robert Says:

cubs just gave up there third run you know what that means another loss

  15. chucky Says:

Look at this way: They are only 1 run short of equalling last weeks total run production. And it’s only the 4th inning.

  16. genrebuster Says:

robert, are Cotts and Heilmann “exceeding your expectations” tonite?

I BELIEVE it’s business as usual.

Dear Ryan Dempster: What is your prediction for the Cubs in 2009?

Kirk, if you are out there…..please weigh in. In fact, it would be great to hear from any of the old members, certainly more fun than watching this team stink up the joint….again.

Fro Dog, you have the right idea (on the Cubs).

  17. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

If you guys get a chance, go look back on the archives back in January and February and see what most of us were saying about this team and what the sheeple were saying on here also in some of those threads. Embarrassing display by this organization. This team has tanked already.

My job is sending me to the St. Louis area at the end of June for a couple weeks. Then the wife and I along with my daughter decided to come back to Chicago to visit my family for about a week. (I miss the city too much!) I was thinking about going to a game but not anymore. I refuse to give my hard earned money to that pathetic franchise anymore.

Happy 101 years without a championship. It feels good.

  18. genrebuster Says:

Guess what: The last time the Cubs dropped eight straight was 2006, when they went on to finish 66-96, costing manager Dusty Baker and team president Andy MacPhail their jobs.

Time for some heads to roll. Nothing lovable about the Cubs.
Blow it up now and start over.

Or, if you prefer just repeat after me:

“baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah” “baaaaaaaaaaaaaah”

  19. robert Says:

tom ricketts in the offseason you are to sing jose valverde…genre no they did what they always do…

  20. robert Says:

tom ricketts in your first 100 days as owner I want to see the following

1 Jim Hendry and Lou Pinella handed there pinkslip and that goes with his entire coaching staff including Larry Roachchild
2 Complete the Jake Peavy trade
    3 Sign Jose Valverde
4 Release anyone on the major league roster with the name of AAron
5 Release anyone on the major league roster that reminds you of family game night (Milton Bradley)
6 Shoot anyone who refers to the Cubs as the Cubbies

You do that and we will give you a chance if not you will get the hell that douche bag Hendryetta the Hippo and the rest of this bullshit operation has gotten

  21. Sandberg23 Says:

Any supposed big salaried team that is suppose to be World Series contenders that was having a start to the season like this should have the managers ass in the hot seat. But we know how this organization is run don’t we. We know how Moe will take care of this don’t we. Just think back to Dust bag. He let that pile of crap sit around until his contract was up and did nothing about it. Just like he will do with Lou. So where is all these dumb ass “sheeple cubbie” fans that kept saying were fine we’re fine. You fucks getting nervous now?? Lou you getting nervous now?? Yeah keep having you’re laid back arrogance about ya and before you know it, it will be July and you will be 10 games out of first. There is no urgency with any of these players and coaches and it starts with the manager. It’s not just gonna happen for ya assholes you gotta make it happen. You can’t even beat the Padres and Pirates for christ sakes. Heads should be rolling with what’s going on with that team but is there?? Of course not same old shit coming from lou and the players. You got a player (Jake Fox) in Triple A right now that is batting over .430 with 17 hr’s and 50 rbi already and all Lou can say is we have no where to put him. Oh yeah you don’t. You can’t put him at first where Lee hasn’t did shit all year?? You got a guy putting number up like that you need to get him up here asap and see what he’s got. And btw, didn’t Fox start out as a catcher with the Cubs organization? This season has not been a suprise to me at all. The suprise to me is the lack of urgency and the arrogance that they are showing.

  22. robert Says:

Sandberg I agree with everything you say

  23. genrebuster Says:

    Sandberg, great post.

DP Lee hasn’t done much for the Cubs since he helped the Marlins knock them out of the playoffs. I think Lee is a “good guy” but I would make a change now. Hell, let Fox play.

The decisions that this organization has made are unbelievable. What a PATHETIC organization. Rewarding poor performance, bad decisions and underachievers….time and time again.

Hendry must know where the body is buried because there is no other explanation as to how he keeps his job. As for Lou, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him give up…what a disappointment he has become.

I’m not surprised by any of what has transpired so far this season…that’s what pisses me off.

    Happy 101 years….tick tock.

  24. Sandberg23 Says:

Now you got Meltdown Bradley blaming the umpires for him sucking at the plate this year. Jesus someone tell him to shut his damn mouth. What an embarrassment that guy is. Of course we all knew that was coming too, except for the dumbass gm and coach we have. And you know what’s next if he continues to not hit. He will be blaming the fans for booing him or better yet maybe he’ll go up and threaten to beat up Ronnie too. If that happens this season is really gonna start reminding me of ’04 all over again.

  25. chucky Says:

Someone did tell Bradley to shut up. His name is Reed Johnson.

  26. robert Says:

god do I miss Kerry he would have told Bradley to Fuck off and quit whining. I hope he gets belted with Kerry Wood Fastball when they plan in his Jaw

  27. Sandberg23 Says:

I saw that Chucky it’s good to finally see someone tell him enough of the bullshit and just play. Somehow it doesn’t suprise me that it was Johnson that told him that too.

  28. robert Says:

good news neal cotts sent down aaron miles on the dl jake fox is bought up

  29. robert Says:

sandberg with that comment you know reed will be riding the pine pony for a while

  30. genrebuster Says:

    Reed Johnson was right.
