This just in….

by

The Cubs ownership deal will be finalized within the next two weeks. It was announced on WGN Sports Central from Dave Kaplan. If this is true, we would have achieved 2/3 of our ultimate goal on this site, other than a World Championship. Dusty is long gone, and the Tribune will be the next to fall. The only thing left is to fire Hendrys sorry ass. He handcuffed this team with all the immovable parts due to no-trade clauses. He completely ignored the farm system, and thought he could just put a fucking band-aid on each failed season with yet more band-aids for the following season.

If the deal goes through, what do you think should be done to salvage the rest of this season and beyond?

Flog Hendry. Literally! Then bury Larry Rothschild neck deep in pitching simulation towels. Not enough to suffocate him, just enough to completely immobilize him.

    I like that!

  2. robert Says:

i will believe it when i see it

  3. erniesarmy Says:

Who is going to buy the team?

What I want to see is the following –

    1. Fire Hendry!
    2. Fire Piniella and his entire coaching staff!
    3. DFA Soriano, Bradley, and Fukudome.
    4. Trade Lee, Fontenot, Zambrano, and Dempster.

Bring in good, solid, well-respected baseball people to retool the entire farm system, and hire the best scouts money can buy. Get that farm system on the road to being the best in baseball (that’s where those trades I mentioned would help).

Get a GM that knows talent when he sees it, can see hidden, even potential talent others can’t see, and knows what kind of manager this team needs. I would say someone young, able to coach the fundamentals, and likes to work with young players.

Do whatever is necessary to obtain Dave Duncan as pitching coach next year!

Lastly, tear down Wrigley Field and either rebuild it on or near the old site, or build a new stadium, with the exact same dimensions outside the city. One Hundred years of losing stink needs to be removed from that franchise. The only memories Wrigley conjures up for me is failure! Utter, complete failure.

  4. chucky Says:

    And dump fucking Harden too.

  5. genrebuster Says:

damn…what the hell happened to Dick Harden?

I, too will believe the sale when it happens.

Hendry is a stinking bum, let him go. Same for Lawrence, the so-called pitching coach.

The Marlins won a WS, immediately dumped most of their roster, started over…and won another World Series a mere 6 years later in 2003 (remember 2003 Cubs fans?)…their entire payroll in ’03 was $54 million….

    2009 Salarys (according to ESPN):

    SorryONo- $17,000,000
    Lil Z- $18,750,000
    A-Ram $16,650,000
    Psycho Bradley $7,000,000

Do the math: Hendry is a damned fool. He doesn’t spend wisely and he doesn’t have the balls/vision to cut people loose when they fail miserasbly at their jobs.

This is one part of the reason that the Cub organization is so PATHETIC. The sheeple are a big part of the problem, too as their blind devotion to this greedy and inept organization enables the powers that be to operate in the manner that they have for so many years.

“baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…there’s a fire burning at Wrigley Stadium, let’s throw some gasoline on it……baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa”.

If I was GM, Zambrano, Soriano and Bradley would be on the trade block, effective immediately.

    I predict that:

    1. Zambrano will never win a CY Young–he’s too unstable.
    2. Soriano will never be a “big time clutch player”.
    3. Bradley is damaged good, also unstable.

Ernie posted: “Bring in good, solid, well-respected baseball people to retool the entire farm system, and hire the best scouts money can buy. Get that farm system on the road to being the best in baseball (that’s where those trades I mentioned would help).

Get a GM that knows talent when he sees it, can see hidden, even potential talent others can’t see, and knows what kind of manager this team needs. I would say someone young, able to coach the fundamentals, and likes to work with young players.” I agree.

Fuck it, just blow up this PATHETIC organization and start over.

What really pisses me off at the moment is the fact that there is no accountability in this organization, NOT where the Cubs are in the standing TODAY.

I’m sick and tired of Zambrano’s and Bradley’s antics. Soriano is not the answer for leadoff, it’s so obvious…just because his salary is huge doesn’t mean he deserves to play.

    Assholes.

  6. robert Says:

want another reason to hate moe hendry and this is for you the kevin gregg defender

who has 17 saves in 18 opportunites for the seattle mariners

thats right david aardsma you know the guy moe traded for neil sucking cocks he has en era of 1.48

  7. genrebuster Says:

    FIRE LAWRENCE ROTHSCHILD.

  8. chucky Says:

No, genre. FLOG HIS SORRY ASS!!!!!!

  9. Dave Says:

    Dick Harden needs Viagra

Soriano needs to go to Little League

Sam Fuld needs to bat leadoff EVERYDAY

My lineup with what we’ve got, including Ramirez who will return Monday:

    1. Fuld LF
    2. Theriot SS
    3. Lee/Hoffpauir 1B
    4. Ramirez/Fox 3B
    5. Soto/Hill C
    6. Johnson/Bradley RF
    7. Fukudome CF
    8. Scales/Fontenot/Blanco 2B
    9. Pitcher

Where is Soriano? Not even on the bench! I dunno where he is. Oh yeah, on one of the Minor League teams.
Bradley is benched, his fielding sucks but he is slowly starting to hit better.

I dunno how I feel about Zambrano. He pitched well yesterday, and he is keeping the ERA and walks down. Yes he is a headcase but he has been far worse. He threw a no-hitter last year, and I still believe that is worth something. Part of me thinks he should go, and part of me thinks he should stay. He may not win a Cy Young, but he’ll get you many wins over the course of a season.

  10. robert Says:

another game no sam fuld in the lineup

  11. genrebuster Says:

    Mr. Jake Fox.

    Big Z meet Ace Lilly.

I thought I was dreaming…but I saw one good Bradley at bat, where he worked the count for a walk.

When is SorryONo’s bus for Iowa leaving?

  12. genrebuster Says:

Dave, from a team standpoint the no-hitter was worth exactly 1 win.

Maybe when the team is sold, the new owner can bring in a reputable team psychologist, to help Big Z overcome Lil Z.

  13. erniesarmy Says:

Zambrano could be a great pitcher, but he won’t learn to take advice. He has been told over and over to take control of his temper out there, and he will not do it. He’s 28 or 29 years old now, so the chances of anyone getting him to change now are slim and none. That’s why I say trade him now while his market is still fairly high.

The only chance to mold him into the pitcher we all want is if the Cubs are sold, and they get a new manager who won’t put up with his crap (someone tough like Ozzie Guillen, or Jim Leland) and a pitching coach that he respects (hello, Dave Duncan).

Harden is damaged goods, he cannot stay healthy. In my opinion, he’s hurting right now, the guys has too good of stuff to be getting rocked like he is. The other thing is Rothschild. He is such a pathetic excuse for a pitching coach that there is a very good chance that he ruined him in some way. He’s young enough that I would like to see what a good manager and pitching coach could do with him. That goes for all of them; Piniella and Rothschild remind me of two old codgers sitting in their rockers waving at people as they pass by, while they read their Sears catalogue.

Like Genre said, blow this thing up and start over! The mess these morons will leave behind will take several years to clean up anyhow.

  14. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

I believe that Harden had a partially torn ligament in his throwing elbow that was discovered during the off season and he decided to rehab rather than surgery. I don’t remember who said it on this blog but a while back, somebody mentioned that they had a past problem with choosing rehab over surgery and it came back to bite them in the ass. I understand he wanted to play but long term, it isn’t a good choice. Just get the surgery to avoid future problems…

Erniesarmy seems to really like Dave Duncan. Who could blame him. A coach who takes shit pitchers off the streets then turns that shit into gold. Then when that gold turns back into shit, he just finds another batch of players to repeat. I know some of you guys also really liked LaRussa as a manager. Once again, who could blame you for saying that. He has as many championship rings in about 20 years as this franchise has in it’s entire history. He has a drinking problem? So what. As far as managing a group of players, no manager can control what a player does on their own time. When the game is going on though, he knows how to manage for the most part…

  17. robert Says:

that move to pick up dick hardens option and trade marquis for nothing is paying big time divedends isnt it sorry about the double post earlier

  18. genrebuster Says:

I’ll believe it when the deal is finalized and “official”. Until then, it’s just another rumor.

If Hendry and Rothschild keep their jobs, then Ricketts is an idiot.

Matt, I agree with your thoughts on “managing a group of players”….like him or not LaRussa is an excellent manager.

I know Lou has been a disappointment but I’d still take him over Dusty anyday….of course that is not saying much.

    baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  19. genrebuster Says:

So far this year, Marquis has 10 wins (NL best) and 2 complete games (2nd in NL).

FIRE LAWRENCE ROTHSCHILD. FIRE JIM HENDRY.

    tick tock…tick tock…tick tock…tick tock…tick tock…

  20. Dave Says:

Yes, Marquis is overachieving now, and most of us should be kicking ourselves in the balls for chastising him most of last season. Last season he was a 5th starter, and among the best of his kind. Yet he wasn’t good enough for most of us. Well he was good enough for me dammit! Now here he is with ACE stuff and not pitching for us.

The Ex-Cub factor adds up again again.

  21. Dave Says:

Oops, extra “again” there. Or was it?

  22. Dave Says:

Ramirez, Johnson, and Guzman returning. Ryan Freel to KC Royals for cash and a player to be named. Sam Fuld and Kevin Hart down into the minors. David Patton to 15-day DL. Team is basically near 100% strength now, and about the same position behind the division leaders as they were on May 6th when Aram went down. As terrible as the Cubs have been playing, they haven’t lost much ground on the count of the rest of the division sucking balls.

Well, we will see what happens here. Some guys might be playing for their jobs with the upcoming ownership change.

  23. chucky Says:

Dave….I don’t know for sure if Ramirez is 100%. I keep thinking of Derrick Lee after he came back from his broken wrist. I know it was his left shoulder that got separated and he throws right, but I expect a serious drop in power numbers. I think everybody should expect it as well. At the very least don’t be too surprised about it if it happens. I hope to hell I’m wrong.

  24. erniesarmy Says:

“The Ex-Cub factor adds up again.”

Dave, I remember Don Sutton was rumored to be a part of a trade between the Cubs and the Dodgers back in the early 80’s. Sutton had a no-trade clause, and he immediately squashed any ideas the Dodgers may have had about such a trade by saying, “Wrigley doesn’t have enough gum to get me to pitch in that stadium.” So in answer to the ex-Cub factor, factor this:

    1) Most top tier pitchers want no part of Wrigley. It’s a hitters park, and always has been. And when that wind blows out…forget it!

    2) The Cubs have never had a real good pitching coach, and they still don’t!

    3) The Cubs have no eye for talent – the Lou Brock and Burt Hooten trade being the most glaring examples.

    4) Their farm system does not manufacture the types of players that are ready for the majors, and if they are, the Cubs trade them elsewhere where they finally start to blossom.

Face it, this entire organization has been a sham for a long long long time. I just hope this Ricketts guy is someone who cares about winning baseball more than the bottom line.

So long Tribune Co., I don’t want to say it’s been nice, because it hasn’t – GOOD RIDDANCE you money grubbing what’s the bottom line cockroaches.
Hopefully now the Cubs will have a legitimate shot at being a major league baseball franchise for once.

  25. erniesarmy Says:

Whoops, Genre, I almost forgot –

tick tock tick tock tick tock………………

  26. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

Wrigley stadium is a dump. Literally. The last time I was there was about three years ago and I am glad I haven’t been there since. I hate peeing in the sinks (troughs). I still call them sinks. The fans that go there trash the bathrooms with beer, the seats I sit in make me claustrophobic and the experience as a whole is shitty. The last time I was there, some jackass behind me kept yelling the whole game, “hey batter batter batter.” I felt like turning around and kicking the guy right in the pants. Maybe that was Irish Yeti or Tdubbs that was yelling that?

Do one of two things as Erniesarmy said: Tear down the park and rebuild it in it’s place or possibly build a new one somewhere near.

  27. ksmc2000 Says:

Good to see someone in management finally get something right for a change by placing Patton on the “mysteriously injured” DL. I think it’s been a pissing contest between Hendry and Piniella about keeping him. Lou, in most cases refused to use him which was wasting a roster spot. Fox is needed in that spot much more to spell Ramirez and pinch hit.

  28. morpheus Says:

ksmc, that’s exactly right. Did you see the quote from Lou about the number of pitchers on the roster?

“The best of all worlds for us, and I don’t know if we could do it, would be to get by with 11 pitchers,” Piniella said. “I don’t know if we can, but it would give us more position players we could play in a game, more parts. But every time I talk to Larry (Rothschild, pitching coach) about 11, he shutters.

  29. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater Says:

    “1. Fire Hendry!
    2. Fire Piniella and his entire coaching staff!
    3. DFA Soriano, Bradley, and Fukudome.
    4. Trade Lee, Fontenot, Zambrano, and Dempster.”

Are you guys really this dumb? Can you not realize that about 80% of the reason for this team being a .500 club has been Aramis Ramirez’s injury? The other 20% is basically bad baseball, which every team plays.

I can’t stand seeing stuff like “FYREE GEM HINDREE!” and “FIIRE LOO PENELLLA!” and “DEE EFF AYE SOREEANUS AND BRAADELEY.” I hate seeing such generalized sentences like “Bradley’s defense sucks.” Please do not confuse bad defense with Bradley being a bonehead. He made a few douchenozzle plays, like throwing a ball into the stands on out #2. Know who else did that? Larry effing Walker. And that guy was kinda good at baseball.

I can’t wait for the Cubs to win this division by 7 games and all you assclowns eat your collective bed-wetting hats.

  30. Sandberg23 Says:

Matt Stairs. Yeah the troughs are ridiculous to try and take a piss in, not to mention how everybody gets packed in them goddamn bathrooms like sardines as well so you can barely move in there. What needs done is the whole grandstands needs tore down and reconstructed. Therefore there is no such thing as an obstructed view seat (ridicuous!) and no overhang in the grandstands where if you have that seat that sits far enough behind home plate you don’t lose a fly ball by the goddamn roof overhang. And if they played in Soldier Field for that one year they would get 60,000 for every home game. Unfortunately that would mean more sheep, but it would help the Ricketts get a nice boost in income that they could in turn use on the team. Granted playing in a football stadium might suck. But it would only be for a year, they can stay in Chicago that way and you keep them out of playing at the Cell and paying the Sox to play at they’re park.

  31. Sandberg23 Says:

I know them playing at Soldier Field will probably never happen. It’s just a thought.

  32. Sandberg23 Says:

BTW, Morpheus I’m gonna give Gregg some credit. Although I am not sold on this guy at all yet, he actually has been throwing a lot better the last week or so and has looked like a reliable closer. The reason I believe that is happening is because he has been throwing more first pitch strikes and getting ahead in the count early. Unlike what he was doing earlier in the season. Believe it when I say this, I hope like hell I am wrong about this guy and he turns this season around and starts slamming the door on a regular basis. That only bodes well for the pen. I have no problem admitting that I am wrong and I hope I am on him. I just hope now that I gave him some credit he doesn’t turn around and blow the next save appearance he has.

  33. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater Says:

From June 3 through July 6, all Gregg has done is give up 8 H and 2 ER in 15.0 IP with an 11/3 K/BB, good for a 1.20 ERA and .148 BAA. Not too bad, indeed.

  34. robert Says:

Dr Noisewater much like a neutered dog you dont get it..I and most of the people on this site dont give a shit if the cubs win the division buy 1 or 100 games all we care about are 11 wins in the postseason. Let me break that down for you:

The division series is a best of 5. The team that wins 3 games wins the series.

The League championship series is a best of 7 The team that wins 4 games wins the series

The world series is a best of 7. The team that wins 4 games wins the world series.

So if you add 3+4+4 that equals 11. Till they win 11 games in the postseason I am going to be pissed at this franchise

  35. erniesarmy Says:

    Dr. Kenneth Noisewater?

    Dr. of what stupidity?

Hey jerk, if you don’t like the comments go back to “Bleed Cubbie Blue” that’s your speed anyway.

Oh, and by the way, the Cubs will not win the division, and will not make the playoffs. You heard it here first folks.

  36. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater Says:

Thanks for the math lesson, Pythagoras. What do neutered dogs have to do with this baseball conversation?

I can’t argue with your sentiment, though. I want those 11 games like anybody else who follows the Cubs. But, bitching and moaning and railing on and on about firing the general manager and coach (who have brought us two division-winning teams) and trading our red-hot first baseman and heating-up rightfielder and throwing produce at your moving picture box machine at home isn’t going to get the Cubs there any faster.

I’m sure you guys mean well in wanting the team to win, but cripes they can’t go 162-0 and sweep the playoffs. Stop being such nancies. All your knee-jerk, bed-wetting reactions make you come across as dim-witted bafoons who are no better than the frat boys in the stands pounding Bood Lights, bro, creaming your pants for the next DeRosa AB.

  37. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater Says:

    “Dr. of what stupidity?”

Yes. And, that’s a PhD to boot.

“Hey jerk, if you don’t like the comments go back to “Bleed Cubbie Blue” that’s your speed anyway.”

To be as honest as possible, you guys are the closest thing to BCB as the internets will allow.

  38. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

Dr., in all seriousness, we know this team cannot go 162-0. And as far as those two division titles you talk about, you can shove those right up your ass if you think that is somehow a success to you. Even if that was a success, how many wins did they get in the playoffs? 0. If you are a real fan, you would know that no season is a success until you win 11 playoff games. Anything less is a failure.

If we were any close to BCB, we would be talking about how everything is great and if we don’t win it this year, wait til next year. Al Yellon is calling. He wants the Dr. back.

  39. Sandberg23 Says:

    Dr. Kenny.

  40. Sandberg23 Says:

Dr. Kenny. Obviously you disagree with what other people are posting in here and that’s fine. We all disagree in here. But what are you offering in this blog other than just slamming what other people are saying about this team. I’ll ask you this. What do you think of this team right now?? Are you happy with the way this team has performed up to this point? Do you think any changes need to be made? I’ll tell you what there has been many people on this blog that have been bitching about how Soriano has needed to be moved out of that leadoff spot for 2 years. Including myself. This is the first time that Lou has FINALLY moved him out of that spot for the forseeable future! What has happened?? Yeah a spark in the offense and the Cubs have been 4-1 without him in the leadoff spot. So apparantly these people in this blog aren’t as stupid as you thought they we’re are they? Maybe just maybe they might now a thing or two about baseball ya think? Cause I know if this offense continues rolling as the way it is now Lou is suddenly going to be looked at as a genius again for moving Anus out of leadoff spot even though people on this site have been screaming for it for a loooonnnnggggg tiiiimmmmmmeeeee!!!

  41. Sandberg23 Says:

BCB they are probably talking about how they are only 2 games out of first too. Even though they forget to mention they are barely over .500 right now

  42. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater Says:

Al Yellon does indeed need a doctor, that’s for sure. But, I ain’t his cup of tea.

RE: Division titles. You guys do realize you need to get to this point before you can get to the World Series, right? I mean, A comes before B. It’s science.

  43. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

hi i’m sheeple stupid keneth noisewater and I probly think that 3 division titles since 2003 is some grand fucking achievemennt while i forget that this is the fucking CUBS we’re talking about and thats ALL we’veever accomplished in a 100 YEARS! I’m probaly happy that the Cubs could maybe pull into first place before the all star break! well thats good you can be in first at the all star break kenneth but you can’t be world series champions! and you can bet your ass that unless ricketts dumps hendry and lawrence rothschild that they sure as hell won’t be the champs come the end of october. TICK FUCKING TOCK.

  44. The Ghost of Leo Durocher Says:

Yes…I’d love to see Fox, Fuld and Hoffpauer play more.

What that has to do with this year’s Cubs, I haven’t a clue; just thought I’d mention it.
    ……………………….

Gee, where have I heard that one before? Hey guys, does it sound familiar? It should, “fans” like this guy, MikeD, said the exact same thing in 1969, 1984, 1989, 1998, 2003, 2007, and 2008!

I don’t know Mike D, why don’t you ask Leon Durham, why don’t you ask Alex Gonzalez, why don’t you ask the priest the Cubs brought in to “cleanse” the dugout for those pathetic losers – Oh! I almost forgot, they lost 3 straight, so much for “blessings.”

Look, pal, maybe you’re a good guy, and maybe you’re a fool (and that goes for you “Dr. Dimwit”), I don’t know, but don’t come in here with that mess again!! We take a very dim view of “Cubbie Fans” around here, you know. This is a site for CUB FANS WHO CARE ABOUT WINNING, not Cubbie fans who care about nothing but sitting in the Right Field bleachers and getting their mugs on WGN.

  56. erniesarmy Says:

Ghost of Leo Durocher – “we want a winner what the hell do you think”

What Leo says goes for me too.

  57. Mike D. Says:

No Genre. I have a clue. I actually watch the games and know that one loss won’t make me go on a rampage. Your knee-jerk reactions to every loss make me sick.

I cannot wait until the next Fro Dog article to be written on how the season is over in June. He is a nimrod along with all of you.

  58. Mike D. Says:

For the record, the most recent Mike D. is an imposter. Not me.

And Ernie’s Army, you’re fucking retarded. My point is that, unless you’re 110 years old, then 101+ years has nothing to do with your sorry, self-centered existence. Nothing. I do, however, admit to enjoying how Pavlovian your response was–frothing at the mouth no less–with more irrelevant bullshit about 1969, 1984 etc. I don’t know what that has to do with dick.

Keep carrying the cross, PAL. I guess I am blinded to be in the presence of sucha true, blue Cub fan.

  59. genrebuster Says:

Mike D. What knee jerk reactions OF MINE to every loss do you speak of? I don’t live and die by one single game and my posting history here and at the old site backs it up. If I’m a nimrod, then what pray tell does that make you?

My point is that this organization has been run into the ground and it’s time for a change. Hopefully that will happen soon as I’d like to see the Cubs win it all for once.

If those of us here performed as miserably in our jobs as the people in the front office have, we’d likely be out of work.

Duck, I’ll take Holliday over Zambrano.

  60. robert Says:

The reasons I want hendry gone

1 in 2008 he exposed Randy Wells to rule 5 draft …The Jays took him he had a bad game and they wanted him off the roster so he came back

2 Jason Marquis for Luis Vizcaino…I loved the Marquis signing when it happened I respected what he did for the Cubs… Buy the way the rockies have scored 3 runs in his last two starts he has thrown 2 shutouts and he is 11-5 that is more wins than z and dempster combined

3 Every Hendry Defender brings up aram for bobby hill that was 03 this is 2009

4 Him saying he did not make an offer for Johan Santana cause he wouldnt have came. Santana came out and said If the cubs would have been interested I would have gone

5 You dont build a consistent winner unless you have a good farm system (say what you will about the Red Sox and Yankees but they pour money into there farm system and turn out prospect after prospect) as do the cardinals as do the Rays as did the braves during there run

6 he gets a one track mind…He has wanted aaron Heilmann for years…Bobby Abreaus agent tried to get a meeting with him he was so determined to get milton bradley that he ignored abreau 6 homes runs 51 rbis 50 walks so far this year

Everyone talks about his offseason of 06 what people fail to realize is he was trying to save his ass….Mcdonough told him to bring a winner to chicago or else…(look at what he has done with the hawks since taking over)

Dr Noisewater you asked people to back up there statements with facts well here they are

  61. genrebuster Says:

…from my earlier post in this thread for Mike D. and others who missed it:

“And Ernie’s Army, you’re fucking retarded.”

Wow, there’s a man, or is it a woman, who knows how to project. Yes, you are quite the debater, but, where’s your argument? Oh, that’s right, you have none! Thanks for playing, your free subscription to Bleed Cubbie Blue will be sent right to your door!

  63. Sandberg23 Says:

C’mon Cubbie fans take it easy!! Eat a fat one Mike D!! You probably can’t even name the dam players on the team can ya dumbass?? Yeah the Cubbies are only 2 games out of first. Maybe the can play .500 ball and back they’re way into the playoffs and win one game. What a great season that would be wouldn’t it. 3 division titles in a row. God there is some fucking idiots for fans of this team. Where the fuck do they come from? Jesus Christ.

  64. Mike D. Says:

“Wow, there’s a man, or is it a woman, who knows how to project. ”

Anybody and everybody who disagrees with your pantywaist worldview is a BCB loyalist who can’t name any players on the team and who prefers a sunny day at Wrigley over a “W” and I’m the one who’s projecting?

Oh, that’s rich. You guys ought to head outside and check out the burning orange ball in the sky. It’s called the sun.

  65. erniesarmy Says:

Sandberg23 – “God there is some fucking idiots for fans of this team. Where the fuck do they come from? ”

From Bleed Cubbie Blue, that’s where. I think I have seen this guy’s posts over at BCB. I believe he goes by the name, “Not Bruce Froemming.”

The bozos over there cannot stand the fact that there are Cub fan sites that are for real Cub fans, so they try to sneak over and post their “We’re going to win it, we’re going to win it” drivel. Sorry, Sheepie, like Mike D, and others, not going to fly over here, you best run home now.

  66. erniesarmy Says:

“who can’t name any players on the team”
    ………………..

Hey Sandberg, check it out, he still can’t name the player’s on the team!!!!!

    Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha…………..

Go home kid, I hear your mother calling.

  67. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater Says:

“3 Every Hendry Defender brings up aram for bobby hill that was 03 this is 2009”

I wanted to pick apart your other nonsense, but this stuck out like a dick growing out of a forehead. What does your statement even mean? Hendry basically robbed Pissburgh clean with this trade. Aramis Ramirez is the best Cub since Sammy Sosa.

  68. Sandberg23 Says:

Go home Mikey and put on you’re “believe bracelet” and get on you’re loyalist BCB site. The Cubbies need you’re support. This site is for big boys ok.

Ernie. Ha ha!! Yeah I’m still waiting… Someone cue the jeopardy music please…

  69. Mike D. Says:

Go home Mikey and put on you’re “believe bracelet” and get on you’re loyalist BCB site. The Cubbies need you’re support. This site is for big boys ok.

You guys wouldn’t get irony if it rammed you in your walnut-sized brains.

  70. morpheus Says:

FYI, S23 and ernie – you’re completely wrong about who Mike D. is (pretty sure he’s BANNED! from that site, just like I am) and what he is like. Couldn’t be wronger.

  71. erniesarmy Says:

“You guys wouldn’t get irony if it rammed you in your walnut-sized brains.”
    …………………………………..
Mike D claiming someone else has a “walnut-sized brain,” talk about irony!!!!

  72. Mike D. Says:

    Here’s a better example…

Guys with handles like “erniesarmy” and “Sandberg23” ripping on fans for what they assume is the glorification of teams that came up short of the World Series. No seriously, if you’re so vigilant about other Cub fans’ memories of failures, why in fuck’s name are none of you named Overall08, ThreeFingerBrown’sArmy or Cap’s Anson? But if some closet case who calls himself Ghost of Leo Durocher wants to unironically rip on someone who glamorizes 1969, well, wow, that’s a Nell Carter sized ball of irony.

  73. erniesarmy Says:

    “unironically”

    That’s not a word, Sport.

  74. Dave Says:

Is it just me or have folks like duck chickens dissipated the intelligence and sophistication on this site just a bit more?

Anyway, Ryan Dempster is now on the 15 day disabled list with a broken toe. The infamous Cubs injury bug bites yet again. Big Z gets the start tonight, and he has kept the Cubs in the game his last couple starts.

And Jason Marquis is now 11-5, the most wins in the NL. Could be a 20 game winner this year.

  75. erniesarmy Says:

Dave – “Is it just me or have folks like duck chickens dissipated the intelligence and sophistication on this site just a bit more?”
    ………………………………….
Nope, it’s not just you, Dave.

I think old “duck chickens” needs to step away from the Colt 45, and come up for air.

  76. erniesarmy Says:

Hey, Genre, remember how you keep saying, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

    Check this out –

“According to a report from the Sun-Times, Monday’s reports on the sale of the Cubs are ‘premature’. According to the Sun-Times, “the Ricketts Family and Tribune were very, very close to an $850 million to $900 million deal but that reports of a completed deal were ‘premature’.”

Next time, I’m sticking with your advice, believe nothing until it actually happens!

Can this franchise do anything without major drama?

  77. MadCityMac Says:

“Wait ’til next year!” “Go Cubbies” “Lovable losers!” “The friendly confines.” 4 phrases I am so fucking sick of hearing, and now the news on The Score this afternoon says that the sale is in limbo AGAIN!! I’ve had it with this fucking travesty of an organization; easily the worst run franchise in the history of professional sports. If they win anything of note in my lifetime it will be a fucking miracle. Fuck you Sam Zell, fuck you Rottenchild, fuck you Moe Hendry, and yeah, fuck you Lou!
On another note, anybody get as much of a kick out of watching Douchebag and his Reds get their ass handed to them the past 2 nights as I did? Fuck you Dusty!

    Mike D,

Are you a Cub fan? If you are do you want a winner? If you are a sheeple that just wants to enjoy the world largest beer garden and piss in a trough thats ok. Do you think maybe Cub fans that now demand a winner are entitled to knee jerk reactions? Were you a proud Cub fan when the talk of the Super Bowl was that the Cubs and Cardinals were the longest without a winner? Personally it sickens me.

You are kind of a condescending type of guy. Do you think that with all the money Hendry had had to spend that this is really a good team? Do you think that he makes good moves?

The astute baseball fans on this site are very knowledgeable, loyal Cub fans. You truley come of sounding like a complete moran. If our brains are walnut sized you are a pea brain.

So sir I have only this to say for you.

Baaaaaaaa Baaaaaaaaaaa Baaaaaaaaa Baaaaaaaaaaa Baaaaaaaaa Baaaaaaaa

  82. Mike D. Says:

    Captainkirk1:

Yes, I want a winner. I’m just confused that some guy (erniesarmy) whining about Cub fans not wanting winners chooses, as his handle, the most successful player to have never played in a World Series. I mentioned irony before–that’s a big fucking heaping spoonful of it. Same goes for Sandberg23. You guys choose to celebrtae players who never played in a World Series while, at the same time, accusing everyone who doesn’t share your unique brand of myopic retardedness to be a willing and complacent proponent of losing.

The subsequent leaps you guys make in terms of what the people who don’t agree with you wholesale believe is beyond laughable. I think 100 years is irrelevant; ergo, I can apparently onlythink Jim Hendry is the greatest GM of all time and I only enjoy drinking Old Style when I don’t pay attention to the games at Wrigley. Great fucking logical induction. You guy are a regular roomful of Socrates. The lot of you have had your umbilical cords severed from reality.

Finally, one last lecture about irony. The fact that anyone who does not walk in lockstep with the fatalistic mindest of this place is immediately branded a sheeple. Do you not catch the irony of castigating anyone who does not think and act exactly like yourselves as sheep? This whole fucking palce is a sheep farm. Bah yourselves, you clowns.

  83. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

    Mike D.,

If the last 100 years have nothing to do with what this team does, then can you explain to me why Reed Johnson went on the Score 670 in the winter time and told the hosts that the pressure of ending the drought got in their minds? I read about that interview online and yep. He said it. It got in their minds and the pressure built up.

Yes. The last 100 years does have relevance.

Why is Morpheus the only “outsider” that posts on this blog and gives his point without being an asshole? Oh that’s right. He’s an adult. My bad.

Thanks for actually doing that Morpheus. We like you here.

  84. erniesarmy Says:

Mike D – “Yes, I want a winner. Sandberg, and I, honor our favorite Cub players, and we are engaging in “irony” because they never went to a WS? Yep, that makes lots of sense: If anybody honors a Cub player they must never criticize the organization, got it. That we think Ernie Banks and Ryan Sandberg have more class in their big toes, than Hendry, Zell, and Piniella have in their whole bodies means we are engaging in irony. Hey, pal, whoever educated you, get your money back.
    ……………………………………………..
Mike D – “The subsequent leaps you guys make in terms of what the people who don’t agree with you wholesale believe is beyond laughable. I think 100 years is irrelevant; ergo, I can apparently onlythink Jim Hendry is the greatest GM of all time and I only enjoy drinking Old Style when I don’t pay attention to the games at Wrigley.”

Oh, another great example of syllogistic logic: That the Cubs have not won a WS in 100 years is irrelevant, because? e.g. (“ergo” Old Latin meaning “therefore” or “hence”) Jim Hendry is the greatest GM of all time, and he drinks Old Style when he doesn’t pay attention. Apparently, our ersatz Socrates wants us to believe that his belief that the 101 years of futility is irrelevant is equivalent to him believing that Jim Hendry is a great GM. Got it, I think?
    ……………………………..
Mike D – ” The fact that anyone who does not walk in lockstep with the fatalistic mindest of this place is immediately branded a sheeple. Do you not catch the irony of castigating anyone who does not think and act exactly like yourselves as sheep?”

Irony (Merriam-Websters): ” a pretense of ignorance and of willingness to learn from another assumed in order to make the other’s false conceptions conspicuous by adroit questioning.” Nope that aint it.

“the use of words to express something other than and especially the opposite of the literal meaning.” Nope, that aint it either.

How bout this? ” incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result.” Nope, that doesn’t correlate either.

The fact that we believe sheep like you are morons has nothing to do with “irony” but everything to do with reality. We will all gladly be proven wrong when this organization actually does it right for once. That is not “fatalistic” that is not “ironic” that is reality – 101 years of REALITY.

Now, scram troll, and go back to the sheepie at BCB where you belong.

Oh, and like captainkirk said, bbaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.

  85. Dave Says:

Interesting assessment Mike D. Though I would have to disagree with you. I consider myself a moderate poster on this blog and I see both sides of the coin. I become both pleased and pissed off with this team on a regular basis.

I will now speak about some of the issues I have agreed and disagreed with during my time watching and posting on this blog and its predecessor. I have been an observer and contributor since the old FDB blog in 2005.

One issue is Soriano leading off: In 2007 and 2008 I was a very strong and stubborn supporter of this unorthodox lead off hitter. Lots of power and minimal contact in a lead off spot? Not what you want, but the Cubs were winning games with this combination over the course of two years. In 2009 this combination is finally failing in spades, and I realize it now. Now he is hitting in the 6th spot, and the offense is showing some more life.

The next issue is the closer: namely Kerry Wood and Kevin Gregg. We give them a whole lot of flack here on this site. Kerry Wood didn’t do a bad job at all last year. Sure he blew a save on occasion but no closer is perfect. We did not like how he would make things too interesting, and a few of us gave him nicknames synonymous with charcoal products. Yet Wood was not worthy of the name Kingsford. Kingsford charcoal was known as the “sure fire.” Wood made the games interesting but for the most part, didn’t completely burn up. Now here is Kevin Gregg. Not more than a few games into the season, everybody takes shots at him. I stayed supportive of Gregg, and as of now, he is doing a fairly good job.

Marquis: I feel I was the only staunch supporter of this guy over the years that we had him. Now he is in Colorado proving himself. He is performing like an ace there, when last year he was only a 5th starter for the Cubs. But with a winning season and a three run ERA, he was one of the best 5th starters out there. Tony LaRussa didn’t like him much either. I would love to see him shut down the Cardinals when the Rockies play them.

Now there are other issues out there, but those are some of the ones I thought were important to talk about.

Anyway, this is a definite battle of opinions here. Some of them fight the battle in a mature tactful way, and some use huge run-on sentences loaded with brazen insults and bad spelling. I prefer to stand in the middle not taking any sides. I am a moderate and I will continue to be one.

  86. genrebuster Says:

    Morpheus.

Random thought: I wonder if Ann Coulter is a Cubbies fan?

  88. chucky Says:

It’s not subject to negotiation either.

    There’s our troll

  91. genrebuster Says:

Troll? How is that possible? I posted a few times on HJE site…even shoutboxed.

    blah blah blah

  92. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

    Dave,

I have to agree with you. I am not really taking sides either. However, there have been a few people who have posted here while looking like complete morons. If they didn’t agree with anything we said, they came right back and called us idiots, nimrods, retards, etc. That is pure immaturity.

I have been posting here for almost a year now and not once has a regular here have insulted me or anyone else. And trust me, all of us have disagreed at one point or another and it always ended with “I disagree because” or “I don’t think that could be right because…”.

Not “Hey. You are wrong and you are a retard” kind of crap that some of these “outsiders” have said to us recently.

If you don’t agree, just say you don’t agree and why. Just don’t act like a jackass calling whoever you disagree with an idiot because he has a different opinion than you. That is all.

  93. erniesarmy Says:

Matt, the problem with the trolls that have been coming in here lately is that they come in spoiling for a fight, and when they get one they start whining.

If they came in wanting to actually discuss baseball, you wouldn’t see the kind of thing you and Dave are talking about. But, they are not coming in here to discuss Cub baseball, they come in here thinking they can get away with taking pot shots at everybody, then run away. No way, if they want a fight, a fight they will get. If they want to DISCUSS baseball, then I don’t think they will find too many here who will get upset.

  94. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

Ernie, you and I can also state that these trolls think they are always right on everything. They come back with their insults and say, “You are wrong and I am right. Therefore you are a retard.” kind of shit that they pull. Opinions are not facts. Example:

Fact: Jim Hendry is an idiot.
Fiction: Jim Hendry will turn it around.
Opinion: I think this team will finish in 4th place this year due to Jim Hendry’s ineptitude.

  95. Duck CHickens Says:

Guy – I think old “duck chickens” needs to step away from the Colt 45, and come up for air.

im just here to have fun n fent about my cubbis just lke the rest of yas

    GO CUBBIS!!!!

  96. chucky Says:

  97. Duck CHickens Says:

says the guy that wants to bery my uncle in towels sheesh get a life dude i like the cubbes just as much as anyone else maybe even mroe

  98. morpheus Says:

    Don’t sell me short folks… I’m a tremendous asshole.

And for the record, I am closer to Mike D on the 100 years subject. I don’t think the past has much relevance to today’s Cubs, especially once you start talking about Lou Brock, for example. While that was clearly one of the worst trades in recorded history, it has nothing at all to do with today’s franchise, Trib-owned or Ricketts/Utay/whoever-owned.

On BCB: I got banned, after a few years of posting occasionally, because I posted something about the “magic number” and Al thought I was stirring shit up… which I was, of course. He also actually deleted *all* of my prior posts, which is apparently the norm when you BAN someone.

Mike D. is definitely not a BCB type, folks… insult him all you like but that’s 100% inaccurate. In fact, in other parts he is well known for having a high ANGER level.

  99. morpheus Says:

    Also…

Finally, one last lecture about irony. The fact that anyone who does not walk in lockstep with the fatalistic mindest of this place is immediately branded a sheeple. Do you not catch the irony of castigating anyone who does not think and act exactly like yourselves as sheep?

I know what he’s talking about because I was branded as “sheeple” when I first started posting here. It does seem to get used a lot when people defend the Cubs in any way…

  100. Thrillho Says:

    > Oh, another great example of syllogistic logic…

    Huh?

    Major premise, minor premise, conclusion?

    Here’s a syllogism for you…

Major premise: Some FDB readers are irony-deficient, borderline-illiterate lunatics

Minor premise: All FDB readers are internet users

Conclusion: Some internet users are irony-deficient, borderline-illiterate lunatics

    > e.g. (”ergo” Old Latin meaning “therefore” or “hence”)

Actually, “e.g.” stands for “exempli gratiā,” which is Latin for “for the sake of an example” (probably Classical or New Latin, for that matter, rather than Old, but I’m no expert on dead languages).

I.e. (“id est” or “that is”), try again, you pseudo-intellectual twat.

  101. Sandberg23 Says:

Ernie. Thanks for explaining our names to the troll. I couldn’t have explained it any better. Ryno is my favorite player cause he played the game the right way. He had all the fundamentals you could ask for in a player, unfortunately the Cubs have not had enough of these guys come through they’re system via draft, f.a. signing, or trade otherwise there would have been a title to be celebrated by now. Now I have been posting on this site an the old site for over 3 yrs now. Since that time I have gotten to know who the regulars are. And these guys all talked baseball and Cubs. We all came in there to vent when needed which is a lot cause let’s face it it’s been over a hundred years. I’ve done my share of it as well. We have disagreed from time to time as well but didn’t throw shots at each other. It was not until the end of last year and this year that we get these new people on here and all they do is take shots at ya cause how dare you get pissed that the Cubs lost, or that you got pissed at a certain player for the way they are performing or how you are pissed at how bad that the team is performing. I don’t throw shots at someone in here unless I get a shot thrown at me or at someone on this site that is a regular. For Dave, Morpheus (who I actually do like in this site), Yeti, Dr Kenny or any other new person in here we are all Big Cub fans in here not Cub haters. We all want them to win a damn championship for once, and if you are a real fan that follows this team and knows the history of the franchise and have experienced the failures of this team yourself. Then you should be able to understand the frustration of fans that follow a team that has not won a championship in 100 yrs going on 101 if they don’t get it done this year. If you don’t understand that then you are not a real Cub fan plain and simple. It’s not fun to say wait until next year or the loveable losers it fucking sucks! Or when the Cubs choke in the playoffs they turn into jokes for latenight hosts to poke fun at. Or that during the presidential campaign SNL uses a skit between Obama and McCain talking about how stupid Cub fans are for rooting for a team that will never win a championship. I don’t know about you but I don’t like that my favorite baseball team is used to make fun of and make jokes at.

  102. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

Morph and Mike D… yeah..we all share the opinion here that the Cubs organization iS PATHETIC…100 years is important, no matter how many ways you try to ignore it. The priest in the dugout, bartman, alou, what many players said last year, it all proves that its important. And there’s no irony in calling you fuckers sheeple because while we may think alike, there’s only a couple of us compared to you 3 million sheeple that crowd the wrigley beer hall to root for the loveable LOSERS the CUBBIES! Its gusy like you that throw out stats and hendry’s record and shit like the ramirez trade and a bunch of worthless stats that say soriano or bradley dont suck, when cleary any one who actually cares about and watches this Team KNOWS theyre as wawful as players can get. You probably moan about players like an Alex Rodrigeuez or Soriano and talki about their stats when neither one’s ever wona world series and yet you completely overlook the value of a guy like David Eckstein, who somehow has two rings on his finger, which i may add once agian, is the smae number the cubs have in over 1000 yEARS! PATHETIC! Tick.Tock. Assholes.

  103. TDubbs Says:

I’ve been trolling around here a lot lately due to the high amount of sheeple traffic, just waiting for an opportunity to say something. I don’t know what, exactly, but something that I’m sure would cause a riot. After reading all of your posts, I just can’t do it. ernie is obviously a retarded person. I mean, just the things he types make Helen Keller smile. Why is this site even associated the the KUBBIEZ at all?

  104. Duck CHickens Says:

    wtf trillho is dat french?

  105. Dave Says:

There’s actually a lot of misspellings that Mitch Cummstein should be correcting as well. Boy am I glad he doesn’t post here.

  106. Duck CHickens Says:

Sandberg do you ermember when ryno made that catch and then the next inning he hit the home run that tied the cubbis up aginst the cardinals and then he hit another home run and the cubbise won it later?

    well NOONE was laffing then!

    GO CUBBIEs!

  107. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

This was up there a while ago but i just wanna address it cuz tis the kinda thinking thats really NEEDED around this pathetic organization-

    1. Fire Hendry!
    2. Fire Piniella and his entire coaching staff!
    3. DFA Soriano, Bradley, and Fukudome.
    4. Trade Lee, Fontenot, Zambrano, and Dempster.

    1. Fire Hendry- without a doubt necessary! The guy has No idea what it takes to build a world series team! Look ast the 2008 vs. 2006 cardinals- 97 wins, ZERO playoff wins, vs 83 wins and a WS championship. Jocketty, (eg. the guy runnin the cardinals) didn’t care what happened in the 2006 world series cuz even thouh people said “look at them! a team w david eckstein and a rookie closer and agin vets barely won 80 games, they can’t win shit!” he knew he was putting together a team that could ahve postseason success, unlike hendry who let hismelf get all wrapped up in the fancy numbers teh cubs put up last year and missed the fucking point and got SWEPT. PATHETIC

2.Fire pinella and his coaching staff– its gotta go. clearly lou is senile at this point and he doesnt have the fire it takes to pull this teams heads outta their asses. eveyrone makes a big deal about his fight with bradley but if he were a true manager like larussa he’d never have even let that bastard on his team. Outta here, and don’t even get me started on lawrence walkschild.

    3. DFA soriano, bradley, and fukudome.anyoen that thought soriano could lead off is fuckin retarded, yet their probably the same people that hate a guy like eckstein or dave roberts and think somehow home runs get the offense started at the top of the lineup, yeah thats nice the 10 or 15 time she does it but what about the other 150 games? Bradley can jus ttake his rap music and swagger and go wherever will take him. fukudome started off like his countyr in world war two, surprise everybody (eg. his aprils the last two year) then just suck the rest of the way until it ends in disaster (ie. the playoffs, Hiroshima n nagsaki). get rid of him

    4. Trade Lee, Fontenot, Zambrano, and Dempster. Without a doubt, Lee may have the sheeple fooled with his two good months but whose to say hoffpauir wouldn’t have more homers and rbis by now and be a lot cheaper? Zambranos just a moron and dumpsters never been that good, remember the PLAYOFFS? SEEVEN WALKS COME ON! PATHETIC!

like genre always says, Tick fucking TOCK

  108. morpheus Says:

Just curious, Stupid… (name NOT an insult!) if Soriano, Bradley, and Fukudome are DFA’ed, who plays the outfield? And Lee, Z, and Dempster have no-trade clauses, don’t they?

  109. Duck CHickens Says:

morpheus, the nerve a some poeple you call him stupid and you dont even realize we got three great outfielders right here in micha hauffpaur jay fox and SAM FULD THROTTAL those are OUR guys. dont forget that.

  110. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

Morpheus, Stupid (name an Insult!), simple, Reed Johnson, Fuld, Fox left to right. Lee, Z, and Dempster can wiave their no trade clauses once a real GM comes in and takes charge and lets them kno that things are different and theri bullshit wont be tolerated anymore. its happened before on other teams, just not the pathetic Cubs. THen you put hoffpauir at first full time and see how much better than DPLee he actually is.

  111. Sandberg23 Says:

Hey Duck. You are refferring to the “Ryno” game. Of course I remember that game. 2 homers off Bruce Sutter. The first one to tie it the ninth and the second to win it in extra’s. Makes me think how badly the Cubs need a 2nd baseman right now.

Morpheus. Actually you could use Fox, Johnson, Hoffpauir. NOT saying I agree with that, but technically you could use them three and they might give you the same if not more production right now. Especially Fox. They need to find a way to get his bat in the lineup.

  112. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

Sandberg you could not be more right about the second base thing..heck we could still use RYNO at second hed probaby be better than fontenotgoodathitting. heck we could use him as the manager too did you hear about his suspension? at least he knows the fire it takes to manage a winning team.

  113. Duck Chickens Says:

oh my god i was just thinkging about this the other day and how much i miss derosa at 2b he was so clutch and kep his head down and just and played the game the right way! who would you gyus rather have a 60 year old sandberg or a 25 years oldmark derosa bcuz i could go ether way you know what i mean right

  114. Sandberg23 Says:

Noisewater HA HA. You know what. I’m thinking he could still at least bat .230 and hit about 5 hrs like Fontenot has. Yeah I heard about his suspension the other day. He actually had been thrown out 3 times in the last week. This last one they actually had footage of it. He bumbed the ump a few times threw his hat and the other ump had to hold him back. It’s kind of strange to see that cause he was so quiet as a player but obviously he’s fiery as a manager.

  115. Duck Chickens Says:

and sandberg i do remeber that game except not because i wasnt actually at the game bcux i dint follow the cubs yet but i do remmber it because i saw it on tv

but NOONE was laffing after that game at the CUBBIES i bet at least right

  116. Irish Yeti Says:

    SKN,

    You are a moron.

  117. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

Oh look, its the Irish Yeti here to add his enlightend comments. TROLL. Let me guess your here to insult everyones intelligence and spout some bullsiht sunshine that everythings okay? Seriously go back to fire jim essian or BCB or stupidio or wherever the hell it is you come from. Sheeple.

  118. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater Says:

Is HJE the place where all the statfags hang out together in their ghey internet shout room all circle jerking to pictures of Jim Hendry?

  119. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

yeah.. its got a big white fence around it to hold in all the sheeple. the fence is painted CUBBIE BLUE and Soriano comes by so you cana all suckel on his teet and tell him how great of a leadof hitter he is!

  120. Irish Yeti Says:

    SKN,
I came from your mom’s taint. Want me to go back there? I can. It’s a wondrous place.

  121. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

@ Sandberg, yeah, the reason is cuz he actually GETS IT and understands that being a player is different from being a manger, a manager can say all he wants and take it for his team and yell and scream but a playe like milton bradley can do what ryno did and STFU and play some fucking baseball!

  122. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

Yeti, i had to look up what the hell a taint is and youre a fucking disgutsing bastard. God is this whaty ou sheeple over at HJE talk about? figures you sheeple cant even talk about baseball over your dick and fart jokes. get off and stay away from this, a blog for REAL cub fans.

  123. Dr. Kenneth Noisewater Says:

    @ Stupid Kenneth nOisewater:

Everybody knows baseball is played and won on pure grit, determination, fiery eyes, scrappiness and heart. Right? Not numbers. Not strategy. Not fundamentals. But, intangible hocus pocus like…grit.

I really can’t believe this place exists.

  124. Mike D. Says:

Sandberg23: Of course I remember that game. 2 homers off Bruce Sutter. The first one to tie it the ninth and the second to win it in extra’s.

Holy shit nobody bothered to point out that Mr. Everyoen-Else-Is-A-Phony-Cubs-Fan thinks that Sandberg’s second homerun won that game?

Wrong, tardaholic. The second one also tied the game. Dave Owen won the game in extras.

  125. Irish Yeti Says:

    I’m sorry Huebiter :Hangs head:

  126. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

Woah okay so sandberg doesnt remember every detail from 1984 and hes not a real cub fan? whot he fuck would remember every minute detail from a fuckin game in teh 80s? memorizing box scores doesnt make you a true fan, it just makes you a loser. your only nitpicking Mike bc you know you cant possibly deny that you sheeple have nothing over us. just go back to HJE, stop trolling. at least were classy enough to leave u guys alone in ur hendry loving orgy pit. and as for DKN,
“Everybody knows baseball is played and won on pure grit, determination, fiery eyes, scrappiness and heart. Right? Not numbers. Not strategy. Not fundamentals. But, intangible hocus pocus like…grit.” you sya that like the cubs have any good numbers, strategy or fundamentals. grit determination and heart would go a long way toward fixing the problems of this fucking team before it rolls over to 101 years. tick fucking tock, you fucking troll.

  127. Mike D. Says:

Any jamoke Cubs fan can tell you that Sandberg hit two homers off Sutter to tie the game, dumbass. It is pretty fuckin’ far from an arcane fact. I’m not saying he should remember that Scott Sanderson once hit a grand slam off of the Cubs while member of the Expos, but that little fact should be common knowledge for any Cubs fan–particulalry one who goes to great lengths to deride the authenticity of fans. Hell, the 25th anniversary of that game took place last month and you couldn’t swing a dead cat on the Internet without hitting that game

just go back to HJE, stop trolling. at least were classy enough to leave u guys alone in ur hendry loving orgy pit. For the record, one of you pubeless twinks–and my deductive powers tell me it’s genrebuster–has been barging into the HJE ShoutBox to squirt urine over the conversations with his childish and anonymous DOOOM rants. This was long before I decided to wade through this cesspool of mongoloid fever here yesterday. That said, rest assured that I will in fact stop trolling and leave you fatalistic boobs to wallow in your own idiocy henceforth. Go Cubs.

  128. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

Hmmm….an unconfirmed suspicion that genrebusters been yelling doooom vs. yeti and DKN’s never ending assholeishness where they einsult our intelligence and continue to maintaint hat everythings fine and we’re just ledge jumping morons. I’d have to say we still shwoed more class. and quit tryin to show off with some thing about scott sanderson (who the fuck is that?!) you looked up on baseball reference or some gay shit like that. Later TROLL.

  129. Duck Chickens Says:

i like jamoke shakes from arbys those are delicious with curley frys

  130. Duck Chickens Says:

oops that last one was for mike d whos still a mike d-bag but he likes arbys which i also like right

  131. genrebuster Says:

    Mike D.

Your deductive powers have failed you miserably (why am I not surprised?): the last time I posted in the HJE shoutbox was during the 2008 NL playoffs…when the Cubs failed to show up for their series with the Dodgers.

As for my “doooooooooommm” reference that was something I saw posted more than once at HJE (by Morpheus and others). When Morpheus first started posting here, I referenced it in a post….and I don’t believe he was offended by it…certainly no offense was intended.

Personally, I could give a shit whether you post here or not. Most of us have been following this PATHETIC franchise for years and we feel that we’ve earned the right to complain, bitch, moan, etc. That’s OPINION. You and anybody else are/is free to disagree with me/us and present an alternate viewpoint. That’s a FACT.

If you think that Hendry and the owners are doing a fine job, then you are in the minority here. If you aren’t sick and tired of the lack of accountability and 101 year drought, that is your right.

Before you start tossing juvenile insults at fellow posters, take a good look at yourself.

“Boring damned people. All over the earth. Propagating more boring damned people. What a horror show. The earth swarmed with them.” – Bukowski

    “BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” – genrebuster

  132. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

Right on Genre. way to go, mike douche, throwing out false accusations. you cant even compare to the class on this website.

  133. Sandberg23 Says:

OK Mike my bad. Sorry I was 6 when that happened. And no I don’t have ESPN classic to watch all the games from the past. So all the knowledge I have from that game is when I was 6 and some highlights I have seen since then. So I was wrong the 2nd homer didn’t win it, it tied it. At least I know now that you are a fan of the team and know the team now. However that still doesn’t change the fact that you are a heaping pile of shit.

  134. Stupid Kenneth nOisewater Says:

“At least I know now that you are a fan of the team and know the team now. However that still doesn’t change the fact that you are a heaping pile of shit.”

Don’t give him too much credit, Sandberg, just bc he can go on a rant about some fuacking game he could have googled doesnt mean he knows a god damn thing about the cubs or baseball. he just writes his little tripe for the hire jim esisan and when someone disagrees he has to go stir shit up from his moms basment cuz you insulted his boys hendry and soriano and bradley. he really is a piece of shit, but hes not a fan in my book. a real fan would never dismiss the signifigance of 101 years! TICK TOCK

  135. Duck Chickens Says:

oh geez i just watch milton bradley orll a rinkydnk grounder to first what teh fuck are we paying this guy fer anyway send him and sorryasshole and fukudonthit to somehwere else we have all the outfield we need in JAY FOX MICHA HAUFPUR AND SAM FULD

    our outfield
    our cubbis
    our GUYS

    getit done henry!

santo had it right ohgeewhiz right

  136. Ron Santo Says:

Geez!! Oh man!! Come on guys!!

  137. Irish Yeti Says:

Do we have a Yellon in command?

  138. Irish Yeti Says:

Fuck these godamned gutless fucking assholes.

  139. erniesarmy Says:

    Hey Genre and Sandberg –

Remember this from “Dr. Kenneth Noisewater”:

“I can’t wait for the Cubs to win this division by 7 games and all you assclowns eat your collective bed-wetting hats.” (July 7 at 9:07 am)

For all our lovable loser trolls out there:

    Bradley goes 0 for 4 … again!

Gregg gives up 2 runs in the top of the ninth to make a 2-1 game into an out of reach 4-1 game – Cubs lose again, naturally.

Cubs get 6 hits and 1 run.

Yesterday the Cubs got 7 hits and 1 run.

Soto is probably going on the DL – Strained oblique..

Dempster is on the DL – Broken toe running out of the dugout!?!

Hart pitches well enough to win, and Zambrano pitches well enough to win, if they were on legitimate playoff contenders.

Cubs win the division by “7 games”??????? Talk about delusional!

  140. Captain Kirk Says:

At least the Cubs should be rested after the All Star break. Well wait now maybe all the sheeple will stuff the ballot box to vote for their loveable losers! I see Sorry O No was benched again. Well what do you expect for 137 million?

Did Soto strain is oblique toking on a joint? Far out man! Looks like old Geo has definitely had a case of the munchies.

The Cubs rank 27th in the majors in runs!!! For you sheeple there are only 30 teams in the majors. So sheeple almost all the other fans get to watch their players touch home plate then you. I’ll bet you just thought you missed the runs when you were texting, talking on your cell phone, checking out the talent or getting a beer. No not at all your favorite team that charges you all that dough for the tickets and beer sucks. Yes I don’t care that they are still in the race they are pathetic, a true legacy to Jimbo Hendry.

So losing 2 out of three to an average Atlanta team ….. barf….scoring 2 runs in the last 2 games as they get ready for the Cardinals coming to town. Get ready fans we are on our way to another 100. Black cats, goats, Bartman the ledgend lives on in a park that has never been home to a Championship baseball team. The “Friendly Confines”

So sheeple you are the problem and that is why I despise you as you continue to support this piece of crap team. Empty the seats and management will awaken!

    Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  141. Irish Yeti Says:

“So sheeple you are the problem and that is why I despise you as you continue to support this piece of crap team. Empty the seats and management will awaken!”

Supporting them also includes watching these fuckfaces. Pot. Kettle.

  142. mlbtvsucks Says:

Fuld, Fox, and other young talent do play everyday… in Iowa.

Mike D and Dr. Kenny are mostly correct. Now we’re missing Jason Marquis? Fire Lou Pinella? Isnt this the refuge for the original Fire Dusty Baker? What do you want from these guys? Yeah, I miss DeRosa too, but he wasn’t that great. You guys nutted in your pants about cutting Cedeno and letting Theriot play regularly, but yet, he’s no longer a favorite. Marquis was a fine 5th starter, but remember he sucks after the all star break and how much you guys wanted Marshall to play instead. Now we want Marquis back, jeez.

You want to see great young players, root for the Athletics or Rays. Sure, start a bunch of minor leaguers, but I think the Mets are going down that road right now. The Rays have the best young team in MLB, but they’re not going to make the playoffs. Imagine that kind of talent with a bankroll.

Build a new stadium and play young players… MLB has that already, Nationals and Pirates. Root for them.

What reason have the Cubs given you to be a fan? Find another team, or cross your fingers and enjoy baseball for what it is.. entertainment. I don’t get mad when they lose. Those million dollar losers are paid to entertain me. They serve me, the fan. Everytime you click on a Cubs article, pissed off or not, you probably look at some sort of advertisement, thats all they want. Winning is icing on the cake. They’re selling out the ball park and even the people that hate the organization follow.

  143. Sarah Palin Says:

mlbtvsucks, I like the way you think! I hope you’re available when I dump Todd! Vote for me, silly boy! Can I buy the Cubs? Drill baby drill!

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
