Unleash your inner ANGER!
October 8, 2009 at 3:21 pm
No need to be angry, its time to party!
A little song, a little dance, and Jim Hendry’s head imapled on a lance.
I’m kidding of course. I’m mostly a non-violent person, mostly.

Dave,
If you have been following NIU football this year, how in the hell do they beat Purdue but lose to the worse team in Division I Idaho a couple weeks back?
October 8, 2009 at 5:36 pm
Sadly, I have not been following them much this year, aside from the ass whooping they put on West MI at homecoming. Just been too busy to focus on the lesser sports right now. For NIU the problems come when they play outside their conference it seems.

Fro,
Bears management decided to go with just Garrett Wolfe as Forte’s backup instead of bringing someone else in. If Adrian Peterson can’t go for the Atlanta game, the halfback position will be rather thin. If Forte happened to get dinged up, I’m not confident that Wolfe will be able to carry the load.

Keith,
I am not sure if that is their final decision since they have an extra week. I think they are going to see if Peterson gets better by the middle of the week and if not, they might sign somebody for cheap.
I really do like Wolfe and maybe I am biased because I watched him play in person in college many times. However, seeing him run the ball up the middle puzzles me. If they are counting on him to get a lot of carries, then that is a problem.
I would be fine with him being a 3rd down back and maybe getting some screen plays or even returning punts/kick offs to give someone else a break.

Some random thoughts:
I can’t stand Lovie Smith as a coach, give me Mike Singletary. I want a coach you has some emotion, Lovie is boring. Did I mention he sucks as a coach?
Whats not to like about Jay Cutler??
Ok new Cub woner impress me make your first move to fire Jim Hendry.
The Cubs will win as many playoff games this year as they did the last 2.
Can we fire Lou Pinella now? How about getting Eric Wedge?
Here is my list of untouchable Cubs:
Did I tell you I can’t stand the current team?

Kirk did you see the rays are interested in bradley… with all that good young talent there bring a good veteran in like him
October 10, 2009 at 6:51 am
Kirk,
Do you think there’s a correlation between coaches who are fiery and football success?
October 10, 2009 at 10:21 am
I do not think there is a correlation between fiery and success. I will say that Lovie’s game management decisions etc suck and he sounds like an idiot in his interviews. So I must say that he is not my kind of guy as a coach.

robert,
Whether or not any should take game boy I don’t care as long as he is gone. We can write of the 20 million left on his contract and file it under Hendry’s fuck ups. I just can’t imagine any team in MLB being interested in that bum!
October 10, 2009 at 11:58 am
Kirk,
I think Lovie was totally awful in 07 coaching wise. I think in 08, he did a much better job and surprising with the team he had. Give Lovie some credit. I don’t think being “fiery” is a big deal.
Tony Dungy is an example that is mentioned a lot in this case. Not once has someone heard him yell at somebody or swear at people. And he has one of the highest winning percentages for a coach of all time and a Super Bowl ring.
I’ll give Lovie another year or two to prove himself before I want him gone but give him some credit. He still doesn’t have that much to work with.

Fro Dog,
If I was a coach I wish my QB was Peyton Manning. Sorta like Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan. Look at the new guy in Indy who is also and idiot, he is doing fine with Peyton Manning.
Lovie was losing us games last year with dumb game decisions. He snatched defeat form the jaws of victory a couple of times. But so be it at least the Bears are compeitive and I really like Cutler.
October 10, 2009 at 11:22 pm
I can’t disagree that Lovie has lost games. He has made quite a bit of stupid decisions. There weren’t excuses for them then and there aren’t now. They finally have a quarterback for the first time in franchise history and he is already making progress with the offense.
All I am saying is that if they don’t reach their goal soon, then changes should be taken place.

“Game Boy”…HA!
I’m still unhappy with Lovie on how he “managed” the Super bowl. I guess I should “let go, give him a break”…at least they made it to the “big game” recently…how long has it been for the Cubs? (don’t answer…I know)
On a different note, The Ghost of Leo Durocher has been awfully quiet lately. I was expecting we’d hear from him by now but maybe he’s waiting for the announcement that “Game Boy” will be returning as a Cub next year… Hendry’s contract has been extended. HA HA HA HA HA
October 11, 2009 at 3:18 pm
So did the Cubs move south to St. Louis after the season ended? Cardinals are OUTTA THERE!
Dodgers sweep the NLDS back to back years.

“It just takes one guy to bring an entire team down, and that’s exactly what was happening,” Papelbon said. “Once we saw that, we weren’t afraid to get rid of him. It’s like cancer. That’s what he was. Cancer. He had to go.”

I didn’t know that “Game Boy” played for the Red Sox… ha ha ha ha ha ha
Happy Monday…a good day to FIRE JIM HENDRY, ya think?
October 12, 2009 at 2:46 pm
ANY day is a good day to fire Moe, wouldn’t you agree Scott? Heard on the Score that the Cubs have officially filed for Chapter 11. Let’s just hope that when (if?) the Ricketts family gets in there that all the garbage gets thrown out, starting with Hendry.
Have you ever seen so many really bad teams such as the NFL has this year? Man what happened to Tennessee? Tampa Bay is horrible, the Browns suck, the Chiefs managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and the Raiders? The most poorly run franchise in sports, right up there with a certain northside baseball team. Is Al Davis nuts, senile, or a little from column A and a little from column B?
October 12, 2009 at 4:30 pm
Matt Holliday before the playoffs was coached on the how to play left field by superstar Alfonso Sorry-O No!
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
Package that bum with game boy.
October 13, 2009 at 12:23 am
Mike, it could be 20 below zero and overcast…but if Hendry is fired on that day, then it’s a beautiful day indeed.
Al Davis? Both.
How about the “Game Boy – Sorry-O No – Lil’ Z bonus pack”? Whoever ends up with them also receives 10,000 Dusty Baker bobblehead dolls that say “dude where’s my horses?” when you slap ’em side of the head. That should be enough to get a deal done.
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
