remember earlier I asked if the cubs were going to hire jarimillo as an excuse not to trade bradley

Jaramillo does know Piniella, and the two talked at least twice during the season, as the Cubs tried to find a way to get Milton Bradley back on track. Bradley led the American League in on-base percentage in 2008 with the Rangers, hitting .321 overall. On Saturday, Jaramillo said he hadn’t seen Bradley enough to explain his drop-off.

  2. genrebuster Says:

I’ll say it again: I HATE what Milton Bradley stands for — and I strongly believe that he and his emotional sickness should be banished from the Cubs once and for all.

I’m sick and tired of the PATHETIC Cubs organization. Enough is enough. After years of pulling for the Cubs I will definitely take a year off in 2010 if Bradley returns. Sure–if MB completely turns it around–I’ll give him a break. But the odds of that happening are SLIM to NONE. His history speaks for itself and there is enough data there to support my position. I invite another franchise to take him on…

The Cubs will go nowhere until the “culture of losing” is eliminated. The inmates are running the asylum and that doesn’t work.

Without an intelligent owner and an intelligent GM the Cubs are going nowhere.

    l8rz, genre

  4. genrebuster Says:

Yeti, does that mean Milton is coming back to the Cubs in 2010?

I’m afraid that signing Jaramillo is a backhanded attempt by Hendry to justify the Bradley fiasco. Instead of just releasing that piece of shit, he brings in Bradley’s former hitting coach to try to fix the mess. This will blow up in Hendry’s face the same way all the fucked up moves he made did last off-season.

If Bradley stays, I’m with you on saying Fuck the Cubs in 2010.

  6. chucky Says:

Here is an idea for Hendry. Take a long look at the Phillies and what they have done. They must be doing something right considering the fact that they reached the World Series two years in a row. And they won it last year too. Just a thought.

  7. Irish Yeti Says:

In all seriousness, I think Bradley burned a bridge or two too many in Chicago. With Jaramillo in the mix, it’s very possible that I might be wrong. Personally (and I know how much you guys disagree), I would love to be wrong. I just can’t fully see it happening.

As far as Jaramillo, I’m of the mindset his talents are inflated due to being a hitting coach in one of the smallest parks in the league. I really don’t think they needed him, but someone did say to me that if you’re going to get a new hitting coach, why not get the one who is considered the best.. Guess I’d say I agree with that.

  8. robert Says:

yetti I agree with you….but lets remember who runs this team jimbo the jackass and lou the stuttering idiot

  9. MadCityMac Says:

Now we just need to get rid of Rothschild, and try to bring in Dave Duncan.

  10. genrebuster Says:

Yeti, I hope you are right in your first statement (burned bridges). Just to be clear, I know that MB is “talented” (skillwise)…but as a friend of mine once said, “talent and a buck will get you a cup of coffee”.

Bradley is such a headcase–and that has been proven to be the case time and again, throughout his career–that I think he is a detriment to the Cubs moving forward. One stat that doesn’t show up is what a player brings to the clubhouse…(attitude, leadership, getting along with teammates, etc)…in those areas Bradley is horrible. I get the feeling most of his Cubs teammates would be happy to see him gone.

That said, you are entitled to your opinion…so on MB we agree to disagree.

  11. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

It doesn’t matter who the hitting coach is. Plus, isn’t Texas also the steroid capital of baseball? Conseco? Gay-Rod? I-Rod?

This guy was the coach for the last 15 years during the steroid era. Now, there are rules with this. There is something that is telling me that this is going to blow up in Hendry’s face.

  12. robert Says:

Jim Hendrys quote this is the biggest signing of the offseason

the yankees one win from the ws worrying about how to get better next year

  13. MadCityMac Says:

Off the beaten path, I’m going to a very-minor-league hockey game in Madison tonight, the Madison Ice Muskies. I’m prepared for something along the lines of “Slapshot”. In fact, the last time I went to a mnor league game in Madison was at this very same arena in high school; it’s the same arena where we played our high school games. The team then was called the Madison Blues, and one of the teams in that league was the Marquette Iron Rangers, featuring Steve, Jeff, and Jack Carlson, the REAL Hanson Brothers. 2 of the Carlsons actually played the Hanson brothers in the movie; the 3rd brother would have but got called up to the Minnesota North Stars just before filming started., so the 3rd Hanson was played by a guy named Jim Hansen. I have a feeling this game tonight will make me appreciate the skill of NHL players even more!

    Hendry still sucks!

  14. chucky Says:

Jesus Fucking Christ. The fucking inbreds are out in full force on Boers and Bernsteins blog today. What a bunch of complete fucking asswipes!!!
Especially this guy “relentless”. This goddamned douchebag thinks he’s smart, but comes across as a total jag-off asshole loser. He constantly rips their show, but still pollutes their blog for some reason. And there are others there too that act the same way. They’re all fucking retarded as hell!!!! I’m glad I’m not blogging there anymore.

  15. Fro Dog Says:

Chucky, I appreciate that you come here for your rants. This site should be your first and only stop on your internet travels.

  16. chucky Says:

It is FroDog. This is the only site I blog on now. I check out some of the others like the score, but I’m sticking to this one for my ranting.

And once again, thank you for letting me rant here.

  17. chucky Says:

And I just turned on the Bears game. Are the Bengals competeing with Seattle for the ugliest uniforms in the NFL?
