JimmyD sent a message to me the other day asking about the website first get-together which is also the day the Bears play the Packers. We all have been planning this for almost four years. As of right now, it is me, Mike and JimmyD on the list. I think Genre posted in the first thread about this that it is a possibillity he could make it if it is near Chicago or close to it. I am leaning towards a location in the northern suburbs closer
So any of you else can make it (Keith, Matt Stairs, Chucky, Robert, Nemo, Captain Kirk, Dave, Sandberg23 etc.), please let me know so I can take a list down. You can bring someone with if you want. It would be nice if we can get about 10 people or so.
There is still about a month and a half left before this but I am doing this for some of you guys who work a lot to get a day off to make it. I will take another count in a few weeks.

Fro,
I have a suggestion as to where we could all get together for the Bear/Packer game. How about the Brat Stop near Kenosha. It’s just five miles north of the Illinois/Wisconsin border at Rt. 50, just off I-94. This was a must stop for me when I still lived in Illinois, when I would head north to party with friends in the Sheboygan area.
Check it out: http://www.bratstop.com
I’ll see if my buddy John wants to come along. He moved to Wisconsin the same year I did (1988), and he, like me still remain loyal to all Chicago sports teams. He use to live in Calumet City. He loves the Bears, Bulls, Hawks, but he likes the Sox instead of the Cubs. His mom can’t figure out where he went wrong. Everybody else in the house are Cub fans, and even his oldest son is a Cub fan.

Fro,
IF genre is even in town at that time, it would be easy for him to catch a train up to Kenosha. Meeting in the north burbs is still a 3 hour drive for me and I’d rather cut an hour off of that by trying something like what ksmc is recommending.
That’s just my 2 cents.
Later,
Jimmy D.

Guys, December 13 will be a long shot for me (for various reasons)…but I am long overdue for a family visit so I’ll do my best to make it happen at that time. I’m cool with taking a train or borrowing/renting a car so plan what’s best for everybody and hopefully I can make it…will keep you posted as it gets closer…
One more thing………….tick tock.

Keith,
Kenosha sounds like a good location. It looks on the map like an easy place to find myself and the distance seems pretty equal for all of us.
I guess we found our place then.

Tom Ricketts has said hendry has 1 year to fix this mess

Fro, can’t make it back home this winter as I will be stuck on the East coast working and having my family come in from Chicago to visit.
My dad called me earlier and told me about the Ricketts press conference. He told me that Ricketts was going to raise ticket prices along with payroll. I think we all know by now that payroll is a pile of bullshit these days. You don’t need a high payroll to win.
I read online that he also said he wants to make the “experience” better at a game. Does that mean the sinks (troughs) will be replaced with actual stalls?
Or I have an idea. Make it a better experience and tear down the fucking hell hole and build a new one across the street.

I would like to make it. Fact is I just don’t know if I could make it or not. It would just depend on Funds and weather on Dec. 13th I live about 100 miles west of Chicago. So no matter where you guys decide to go it would be a good 2 – 2 1/2 hr trip for me just to get there.

Sandberg23,
That would be great if you can make it. If not, it’s not an issue. I am in Dekalb and according to Google Maps, Kenosha is a good two hour drive for me. So yeah. You are probably looking at 2 1/2 hours. I believe everyone else is driving the same amount.
I said in the first post that if weather is an issue within a 24 span of that date, that it would be canceled.

I’d love to meet up with you guys but the rest of this year is gonna pretty much suck for me. I’m having right knee surgery in a week and a half and I may be on the shelf for quite some time. After that the left knee gets worked on. So I just don’t really know at this point if I can meet up with you. If I can’t make it, please have one for me, and tell me all about it.

Guys, I’m there if the weather does cooperate! Robert, I hope like hell he means that about Hendry; he didn’t really touch on that at all talking to Boers and Bernstein the other day. Unfortunately, it appears that we’ll have to put up with at least another year of Crane Kenney and that doddering old fool in the dugout!

he kind of contradicted himself at his conference he said there will be accountability everywhere…but if you remember everytime someone asked lou a question this was his answer what do you want me to do about it
