Bears’ season over.

by

Well. That’s it. I told all of guys that I wanted to wait to see what happened with this game before making my decision. The Bears will not make the playoffs (not official but 99.9% doubtful). Well, at least the defense did something good albeit a crappy 49ers offense.

Thanks goes out to Jay Cutler for making me think of Rex Grossman.

Thanks goes out to the offensive line for not letting Matt Forte get any yards and for almost getting Jay Cutler killed on every play. Also, big props to the wide receivers for not knowing how to run a fucking route.

Special thanks to Ron Turner and his predictable plays such as the wide receiver screen to Devin Hester for two yards. Or Dan and Carl’s favorite predicatable play: The I-Formation of Death.

Finally, I want to give thanks to Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith. Thanks for taking the best kick/punt returner in football and transforming him into a mediocre 3rd receiver.

There is enough blame to go around and not solely on one or two people. From Cutler to the offensive line. To the secondary and the coaching.

I have bad news for you guys: Lovie Smith isn’t getting fired. Maybe next season sometime but not this season or during the offseason. As much as I want him gone now after I defended him numerous times the past couple years, he isn’t going anywhere. Deal with it.

Fuck these damn pricks.

One last thing, I must give credit to reader Captain Kirk for his prediction of this game about two weeks ago and the rest of you guys for telling me that I was wrong by defending Lovie and this team. I was wrong and the rest of you were right.

Thanks for the shout out, I should trademark the “I formation of death”.

Heh, that previous comment was me under the initials I use at my college football blog.

Indeed. That has to rank out there as one the worst games I’ve seen. As far as I’m concerned, the Bears should keep Jay Cutler and maybe Lance Briggs….AND THAT’S IT!!! Get rid of all the players, get rid of all the coaches, and have Angelo drawn and quartered. That same fate should await the McCaskeys as well, and should await any Bear fan that thinks the Bears will go anywhere after January 3rd.

As it stands now, MAYBE two more wins this year. St Louis and Detroit. And I’m not optimistic of those games.

I’ve heard some people blaming Cutler for this lose because of the INT’s. I blame Smith along with Ron Turner more than anybody for the lack of preparation since the bye. This entire team has looked like shit since that point. And for my money, saying “we’ll get better” after seemingly every post-game press conference doesn’t fucking get it done. Smith is too stubborn, too arrogant, and frankly too goddamned stupid to be defended any more. And I’m not talking about you FroDog. I’m talking about the radio jag-offs who defend these assholes all the time. The fact that they may not be fired any time soon is a complete indictment of ownership to me.

I’m no expert…but I’m smart enough to recognize that Lovie Smith is an idiot, as is Ron “Smooth” Turner. Sorry, no Superbowl appearances or win until those bums are gone, I don’t care who the players are.

  5. Sandberg23 Says:

Hey Fro how about the Bubble screen?? That’s good for Turner to use 3 or 4 times a game and it NEVER EVER works. I swear I have never seen that play work. Used it on a 3 and 8 last night too. Somebody harpoon that bastard out of the coaches box from across the stadium. BTW nice personal foul penalty on Williams on that last drive jumping over a pile to hit somebody. Fucking idiot! Just like the Cubs are in baseball these guys are the most undisciplined and stupid group of players, coaches, managemnet in the NFL! 10 more fucking penalties last night. Jay or Rex, what ever you’re fucking name is stop throwing stupid ass fucking passes in the red zone!! This guy should be getting lit up on talk radio today. The honeymoon is over with this guy. He needs to start getting called out for the dumb decisions he is making. If this would have been Rex last night people would have been ready to burn his ass at the stake for this performance. It’s time to stop babing him and blaming everything on everybody else. He is major part of the problem with the offense too. Also let’s take the Franchise qb tag line off him too until he actually starts performing like one.

Chucky, you forgot to add the Packers for a win for the Bears, as much as it hurts me to say that. Matt Flynn will probably be the QB by then because Aaron Rodgers is going to get killed with The 7 Blocks Of Dogshit blocking for him. When I heard this morning that Cutler threw 5 picks, all I could think is how many people are going to have to be talked down from the top of the Sears Tower.

  7. chucky Says:

I seriuosly doubt the Bears can beat Green Bay. The way they are playing right now they’ll be LUCKY to beat the Rams and the Lions. They may not win one more game this year. And as bad the O-line is, Cutler will be killed before end of the season.

  8. chucky Says:

Troll nation is out in full force at the Score website blog. One asswipe in particular thinks he’s a fucking comedian, making probably a good 125 posts using a different name each time, and posting something retarded each time. I swear to fucking god some people should not be allowed anywhere near a goddamned computer.

  9. Nemo Says:

Bears next game is at night on national tv too, you can pencil in at least 3 more INT’s for Cutler. Philly defense is a good pick up if they are available in your fantasy league.

Now, I don’t blame everything on Cutler-I pretty much blame everybody, but he has been the #1 Culprit in at least 3 of the Bears 5 losses. I don’t know how the Bears beat the Steelers, because they haven’t beaten anybody but very bad teams since then.

  10. MadCityMac Says:

Chucky, that’s not even the worst of it. Did you hear B & B yesterday afternoon? It was “meatball Friday” on the Score. I never heard so many idiot callers in my entire life!

  11. chucky Says:

Not all of it. I’ll check out the podcast today.

What advice would (Fran) Tarkenton give Cutler?

“If Jay Cutler is not comfortable with the offense or the way they are calling the plays, he ought to go in there and tell that coach [expletive],” Tarkenton said during radio interview. “Dan Fouts came into the league and for the first couple of years he was struggling. He said, ‘What do you do?’ I said, ‘Dan, if you’re not willing to go tell your head coach or your coordinator to kiss off, then you can’t play quarterback in this league.’

    *****
    There you go.

  13. Fro Dog Says:

I was listening to the Score this morning on the way to work and a caller mentioned something that is worth noting. He said the following and I am paraphrasing:

“Devin Hester was one of the main reasons why the Bears won so many games in 2006 and 2007. Then Lovie Smith put him as a wide receiver.”

    Then he said this:

“Do you know how hard it is in the NFL or any sport in general to find one player who is great at one thing or one position?”

There you go everybody. Devin Hester who was becoming something great has been transformed into a mediocre 3rd wide receiver thanks to Lovie Smith.

  14. chucky Says:

Mac…. I listened to the first 3 hours of Boers and Bernstein via the podcast. Jesus fucking Christ. Thanks for warning me about the idiot meatball callers. I can’t believe that many people are that fucking stupid. Not just dumb, but outright fucking stupid. My head hurts from it. How the fuck do these cretins muddle through life like that?

    Un-fucking-believable!

SHOW DA FIRE AND PASSION, MY FRENDT!
