The refs must have been Bears fans.

The Bears avoided disaster by beating the much improved Lions Sunday afternoon. There were a shitload of bad penalties, stupid turnovers and a call by the refs that was supposed to be a game winning touchdown for the Lions but wasn’t. Let’s get to it.

Unless you are Irish Yeti or some other turd sandwich, you would (the normal sports fan) know that stats don’t mean shit. If you win, you did your job. If you lose, you didn’t. Same goes in this case. If you look at just the stats, the Bears should have annihilated the Lions. They outrushed them, out passed them and played just as good on defense if not better. The Bears had numerous times to score. They had great field possession nearly every time they took over as well as playing great defense forcing many three and outs.

Defense: The Bears proved me wrong Sunday on defense with the exception of the last drive. They let Shaun Hill actually throw the ball and get first downs. They have to tighten up late during games. But before that, the front four did get pressure on Stafford and Hill resulting in three turnovers (The third being on the 4th and 10 to end the game). Julius Peppers caused a fumble while injuring Stafford for the rest of the game. We saw Brian Urlacher play tremendous getting eight tackles. When it seemed like Jahvid Best or someone else were to get a gain of a few yards, Urlacher was waiting to stop that from happening. Nice to see he is healthy. Lance Briggs also did very well getting nine tackles along with causing that fumble on Shaun Hill inside the 1. Speaking of that fumble…

1st and goal at the 1: How the fuck do Smith and Martz not call a quarterback sneak in that situation? That had to been the four dumbest plays in a row I have seen in quite some time. PATHETIC as our friend Genrebuster would say. A quarterback sneak in most situations would guarantee at least a yard. Luckily as I mentioned above, the defense bailed the shitty offense out.

Offense: Once again. Look at the stats and you think the Bears kicked ass and scored a lot of points. However. Four turnovers in this game is unacceptable and shitty. First turnover was Cutler throwing an interception with four defenders surrounding Johnny Knox. Second was Greg Olsen coughing up the ball in the red zone. Then in the 1st half also, Forte fumbled it going up in the air. Enough with the fumbles. The Bears got rid of Rashaan Salaam a long time ago.

Blown call at the end: Thank God this was in the rule book. Apparently, since Johnson was still moving even after the catch, the part of the process of catching the ball was the factor. However in my opinion, that should have been a catch. Everyone and their mother knew that should have been a catch. As I said in the title: The refs must have been Bears fans. I’ll take it.

Your thoughts in the thread.

I posted this in the previous thread. I’ll repost it here.

Well, the Bears win 19-14 over Detroit. They should thank the incompetent ass-fucks in the reply booth, because that was a Detroit touchdown. I don’t give a fuck what anybody else says. The Bears lost that game. That review was complete bullshit. If I were Detroits head coach I’d be asking who in the Bears (dis)organization paid off the cocksucker in that booth. The league could fine me all they want. I’d tell them to go fuck themselves just to make worthwhile.

If Lovie Smith goes out post game and is in the least bit arrogant or puffing out his chest about this shitty win then I hope somebody goes up tp the podium and kicks him in goddamn head and then punchs him in the throat. They looked like absolute shit today. And yes, I watched the game. Fucking thing damn near put me to sleep. If this is the way it’s going to be for the rest of the year, then fuck them. I’ll be hoping they lose the next 15. Fuck this shit.

Amazing thing to say after a so-called win. But the fact is this is a big steaming pile of shit.

I’ll go ahead and add this. This whole “process” thing is just bullshit. It’s also rather obscure. I’ve never heard about before. How many of you knew about that rule. It’s a new one to me. Sorry, that ball was caught. If I were the head coach of Detroit I’d be raising holy hell over this. In my opinion, the Bears did not win this game. It was gift wrapped and given to them by some asshole in reply booth that has no balls. It seems the Bears just will continue to offend my football sensibilities until they get smart and dump Smith, Angelo, Ted Phillips, and anybody else with any authority.

I’m dying to hear what Buffone and O.B. have to say about it on the Score later. Unfortunately, I have wait because of some meaningless bullshit White Sox game. Mitch Rosen needs to get a clue and dump the Sox games. The ONLY reason he got them to begin with is because they won the World Series in 2005. Fucking bandwagon jumper.

  2. Fro Dog Says:

You have to admit that the defense played pretty well up until that last drive. They gave the offense numerous chances to score points. I agree that this was a shitty game.

With the catch by Johnson, it seemed like he took a couple steps after catching it which once again should have been a catch. I know it’s odd complaining about all of this after a win, but these are the Bears we are talking about.

By the way Chucky, when talking about the Buffone and O.B. show, someone should call for the defibrillators to be sent out to Elk Grove where they are doing the post game show at. I actually went out there to Real Time Sports to eat once. It was about a couple years ago. If you go there, be ready to pay up the ass.

  3. chucky Says:

I kind of doubt I’ll be going to Elk Grove to eat Fro. I live Mundelein. but I would go for the chance meet Doug and O.B. The only other former Bear I met was Otis Wilson 20 years ago at Walter Payton’s 34’s. I actually shook his hand and got an autograph. The guys hand was the size of a catchers mitt! HUGE!!!!

And enough with the bullshit White Sox post-game. Rongey is an assbag. As obnoxious as St. Louis Cardinal fans might be, I’m beginning to think Sox fans are worse. Fro… Who do send an e-mail to at the Score to complain? Yeah, I know they have a contract to do the games. But they need to dump that contract.

  4. Fro Dog Says:

I am not sure Chucky. Although if you look through their website, you might find Mitch Rosen’s email address. If not, you could probably call up and request his voice mail. That’s what I did a few years back when I was working at the restaurant. I was pissed off that there weren’t any local hosts late at nights when I was working. I remember being stuck with Sporting News Radio then Dan Patrick who I cannot stand.

  5. robert Says:

fro did you do this lol

  6. Guest Says:

Your presence is being requested at another blog. They have been saying you are the guest trolling various shoutboxes across the network. And someone is saying since our Northside baseball team isn’t doing well this year, that you are going into DOOOOOOOOOM mode. Is this true?

  7. PenFoe Says:

  8. chucky Says:

    And you do?

  9. Yeti Says:

Seriously, whoever posted that comment as Guest at 1:59pm. Who is that? I know it’s one of your minions. You’re so insistent on comparing IPs. How about comparing them to the IP of the guy posting as Mike D?

  10. genrebuster Says:

yeah right Penfoe, we heard you the 1st time.

Didn’t your Mom & Dad teach you that SHOUTING at strangers is rude?

On a different note I’ve consulted with the experts, they agree that Guest = Troll (often).

    baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Now that it doesn’t matter, Zambrano is pitching better. Time for Hendry to give him an extension and a big bonus!

  11. genrebuster Says:

Sorry, off-topic. How ’bout those Bears?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  12. Fro Dog Says:

This has become a fucking joke. I am sick of this fucking childish shit. Let me start off with the first fucking comment.

Guest: I am trolling shoutboxes? You must be talking about HJE. And the fact you bring up “doom” is childish. For the record, once again, I have not watched baseball much less paid attention to it in almost two years. Therefore, there is a good chance I haven’t been to that site in quite a while. Notice I haven’t written about baseball in that time. I have found better things to do in my life than watch baseball. I have grown to fucking hate that sport.

Penfoe: Fine. Nobody knows me. Grow up.

Yeti: I saw his IP address in the comments. It is coming from Terre Haute, Indiana. Now I don’t know the exact location of every person who posts here but if it is one of our “minions”, then please stop. And the guy posting as Mike D.’s IP address is coming from Chicago. In fact, I traced the IP’s of all of his comments even the ones he claimed wasn’t his. All of the IP’s are the same for him.

By the way, Yeti, don’t call any of us minions. You and the guys you call your boyfriends come here all the time and like to stir shit up. All the name-calling and asinine comments that all of you post is immature. Don’t think for a second your shit doesn’t stink. In fact, it smells worse compared to ours. I am not taking sides but I have asked you and your “friends” to knock it off a long time ago and it hasn’t stopped. So that brings to me to this:

With the exception of the children here (Penfoe, TDubbs, Guest, etc.), we are adults. I am sick of playing babysitter. I check this site maybe once or twice a day then I return back to my normal life of working 60 hours a week. For everyone reading this, this is the last time I am telling EVERYBODY to grow up and you know who you asswipes are. I said I would never do it but now I am serious about banning people. And it starts now. Everybody is allowed here as long as they agree to have a civil conversation about sports or anything else in general. If you fail to do that, you will be banned.

    Enjoy the day.

  13. Fro Dog Says:

Oh by the way. Genre: You ask about about those Bears? Well what about them? They barely beat a team that is in the bottom five of the NFL. They have the Cowboys on Sunday. I am guessing since they lost to the Redskins, the Cowboys are probably waiting to kick the shit out of the Bears. Sadly, I think it’s going to happen.

  14. genrebuster Says:

Fro. Banning the juvenile ass-wipes is fine with me. It’s one thing to disagree with one another and rant a little…but the childish insults have grown tiresome. I was happy to finish high school (a long time ago). Look at the bright side: if you ban them, they’ll have more time to follow Justin Beiber and the like!

I posted a couple of times at HJE recently (as “genrebuster”) when Lou quit. One guy took issue with one of my posts but the discourse remained civil…in fact, another poster replied before I had the opportunity…took the words out of my mouth.

As for the Bears, I do expect the Cowboys to beat them up pretty bad.

  15. chucky Says:

Fro…I listened to some of the sports talk radio yesterday and it seems that the “rule” that saved the Bears asses had been in place for a couple of years now. I have never heard it before but whatever. Terry Boers seems to think (and I hope to hell he’s right) that this rule will be revisited in the coming off season. I hope so. That call was total bullshit.

And did you hear that lying assbag Lovie say how “he agrees with the rule and likes the rule and likes and agrees with ALL the rules of the NFL. I seriously hope that the league can resolve their labor issues before next season. If there is a lockout next year, Lovie isn’t going anywhere.

  16. Fro Dog Says:

They probably will change that rule just like the overtime scoring rule after the Vikings complained last year during the NFC Championship game. The overtime rule however has been in place for a long time.

Lovie is a fucking idiot. If that happened to the Bears, I am guessing he would be pissed. I have had it with that fucking tool. And as far as the lockout is concerned, owners want an 18 game season. I really pray that doesn’t happen. 16 games is enough for me and the players are going to be pissed due to the higher risk of injury. And yes. If the lockout does happen, the Bears are fucked for at least one more year.

  17. Yeti Says:

  18. genrebuster Says:

Fro. Just wanted to re-visit the childish crap for a minute. If you have the ability to delete any un-civil comments aimed at fellow posters, maybe that is easier and better than banning somebody (?)…

For instance, a banned poster could continue to post from alternate locations/computers. But if their comments disappear soon after they post…what is the point?

  19. Fro Dog Says:

I think banning is a bit easier. Deleting them could take a little longer of a process and since I am not always checking this site as much as I use to, I think banning would do the trick. We’ll have to see though.

By the way, I checked out your music website. I saw you accepted a job at East Carolina University. Congrats. I have yet to bring out my saxophone and play it. It’s been roughly two years since I last played it.

  20. fallscountanywhere Says:

I have to agree about the defense, Fro. I was overall pretty happy with them.

Just because something’s a rule doesn’t mean it’s not shitty. I definitely agree with protecting players and the QB, but there were at least one or two roughing the passer/hands to face/etc. calls that were completely incidental and really NOT that bad on Sunday. Give a little take a little, I guess.

Though the way this season might turn out, I’ll take a win that way if I really have to. And this way I can make fun of my friend who is a Colts fan a little bit.

  21. genrebuster Says:

Thanks Fro. It’s a part-time position but a great opportunity for sure…will likely open some other doors, too…plus it is flexible so I can continue to keep a hand in everything else I’m involved with (including any tours that come up)…that is important to me.

  22. chucky Says:

Yeti…That guy from your link is a tool. He’s from What do you expect him to say? That the officials got it wrong? There’s no way in hell he’ll say anything like that.

The main problem with this rule is the word “process”. One officials definition of the term process might be different from another official. Yeah, I heard alot of people claim they got the call right. And those same people out of the other side of their mouth they say it was a fucking touchdown. Which is it? A rule should be that vague. What would the outrage be like if they make that call during the Super Bowl? I’ll tell you. You’d never, ever hear the end of it. They’re lucky it came during week 1. Because now it will be completely forgotten by the time the Bears hit their bye week.

The Bears got fucking lucky beating a team with a record of 2-30 over the last two seasons by being the beneficiary of vague, bullshit rule that has no place in this league. Unless they’re trying to become the National Pussy League. If that’s the case, see ya! I’m gone.
