Fucking Ricketts saying today that Hendry is working on next year’s manager. Hey asshole, why are letting that piece of shit with the bad haircut work on anything?!? Fucking Bud Selig should have given Cuban the franchise; he DID after all have the high bid!! Fuck you Ricketts, fuck you Moe Hendry, and fuck you Crane Kenney!

BTW, Fro, you sounded good on The Score today, and I couldn’t agree more-why can’t they give the players 1/2 hour to wind down or whatever before the press is allowed access?

  2. Fro Dog Says:

    Mike,

Lance Briggs said they only have about five minutes as soon as Lovie is done talking (Or mumbling) before the media comes in and gets in everybody’s way. I don’t agree with what he said about women not being allowed but I think the simple solution as I said would be to give a half hour time window after the players get in the locker room. That gives them enough time to get out of their uniforms, shower and then get dressed in their street clothes.

You would figure also that the media can spare an additional 15-20 minute wait time. They can take that extra time thinking of questions to ask or getting something to eat. If any one of them bitches that they have to wait too long, then they should find someone else to do the job.

    Hey Fro,

If the women want to be in the men’s lockers so bad, then why can’t the men be allowed in the women’s lockers? Could there be a double standard going on here?

Anyway, the Cubs are starting to look like a legitimate baseball team here at the tail end of the season. Where was this effort earlier? I think Mike Quade should be considered for the job. Since he took over the Cubs are playing like … well, they aren’t playing like lovable losers. The pitching is better, the kids are playing with more confidence, they look like a different team.

I know, the season was over for them in May, so perhaps all this good baseball is just an illusion. But, they do look better than I’ve seen them in many years, including the 2003, 2007, and 2008 seasons.

I still want a new owner, a new GM, and a new president though.

I wouldn’t put too much on the current winning streak/improved play. There is absolutely nothing on the line now (from a team standpoint)…the pressure is non-existent. Even if they run the table from this point forward they finish @ .500 (and that isn’t going to happen).

Hendry is an extreme liability…and as long as he is in the GM role expect more disappointment.

The fact that Ricketts fails to grasp this is disappointing, to say the least. Disturbing may be more appropriate.

Still hoping for a major house-cleaning/fire-sale. That would at least pique my interest. Maybe Zambrano is worth more than a bag of shells now (?).

    baaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    tick tock…103 years……AMAZING. What a PATHETIC organization!!!!!

That’s all the anger I can muster at this time…because I pretty much don’t give a crap at this point! (my profound Thanks to the Ricketts family for their part in helping me get to this point…)

Genre, I agree. While I see improvement, I have seen this before. It might have been 1995 or 1996 when it was obvious they weren’t going to contend, they still had a hot streak or two in the last couple of months.

There I was at the time being a naive 18-19 year old kid thinking they were going to be the shit next year. Well then comes 1997 and we all know how awesome that year was. Does the astounding 0-14 start bring back joyful memories people?

If Ricketts had half a brain, he would clean house. He needs to get baseball smart people in to run this thing. The farm system needs to be rebuilt. They have to get better scouts to draft new young talent. Ricketts needs to find a GM who can pull somewhat of a miracle and get rid of the backloaded contracts. And this offseason would be a perfect time to trade Z. If Z can get traded, that can bring back at least a good prospect or two. Let the kids play and see what they can do. Bring up all the prospects and throw them out there. If they do well, great. If not, find another prospect in the minors. At least we will know who can do what. What’s one more year of bad baseball? We’ve had 103 years in a row of it. Instead of this happening, Ricketts may be too busy worshiping the troughs and eating urinal cakes in the bleachers.

  6. Matt Stairs Superfan Says:

How stupid of me to forget this last but important way to fix this PATHETIC excuse for an organization.

After I mentioned urinal cake in my last post, I should have know to mention Wrigley itself. Is it too much to ask for a new stadium? I think that might be one of the first steps in eliminating the Irish Yeti’s and Penfoe’s of the world. The last time I went there was 2007 with my dad and the concourse smelled literally like piss. So it’s an educated guess that I won’t be entering Wrigley anytime soon.

  7. Nemo Says:

Congrats to the Minnesota Twins!!! FUCK YOU White Sux and Ozzie Guillen!!!

oh, and FUCK YOU Hendry, Ricketts and just about everyone else!!
