Bears win despite not having a quarterback until late 3rd quarter.

Eh. This is going to be a short recap. Bears win 23-6 thanks to Matt Forte, defense and special teams. Matt Forte was all tits rushing for 100+ yards in the first quarter alone. He only had about 65 yards the rest of the way but that had a large part in interceptions and incomplete passes by an idiot impersonating as a quarterback by the name of Jonathon Quinn Todd Collins. This guy fucking sucks. He could have put the game away in the 1st quarter but instead throws an interception at the goal line in heavy traffic. Too bad Lovie took until late in the 3rd to put Hanie in. Lovie is an idiot too. I don’t ever want to see that pathetic excuse for a quarterback Moses Moreno Todd Collins play another down for the Bears.

The defense was outstanding. Julius Peppers is one bad ass on the field. A lot three and outs and the core shut down the Panthers running game. Despite Jimmy Clausen being a bad quarterback, this defense is still strong. They showed it against the Cowboys, then the Packers and even last week against the Giants for the most part.

On special teams, Danieal Manning had a good return to start off the game which led to the first touchdown. Then on the first punt for Carolina, Devin Hester nearly took it back for a touchdown. And Robbie Gould nailed three field goals so nice to see he is taking care of business.

The Bears get the Seahawks next week at home. Yours truly will be there in section 208. We will see how that pans out.

So, maybe I missed something, but I am asking not only why Collins stayed in so long but why he even started. We only got him because Hanie got hurt…so now that Hanie is not hurt, why are we not playing Hanie…?
Please, tell me if there is a real reason that I just didn’t hear. Otherwise, I’m baffled. (Except the whole fact that, you know, it’s the Bears.)

Man, have fun at the game. I’ve actually never been, oddly.

Great news fellas, no more Butternuts Rothschild!

Now, for Crane Kennney, Moe Hendry, and Tom Ricketts. Yeah, I know, in my dreams.

I have been a fan of this Looney Tunes franchise since 1964, and I have had enough.

Until the Cubs have an owner with a brain, and front office leaders that actually know something about baseball (and actually have a real honest to goodness plan!), I am taking my leave of the Cubs.

I’ll post every once in a while next year, because I like Fro, and I enjoy the rest of you fellas, but, other than a cursory look at the standings every now and then, I’m done with this team. If they actually had a future it would be different, but I see nothing but losing as far as the eye can see. Nope, count me out.

It’s the Bears. That’s why. I think it’s because they paid Collins a million bucks to come here but everyone knew he sucked ass. His only good game of his career came against you guessed it, the Bears (2007). Pretty sad if you asked me. I don’t think Hanie is the greatest backup either but at least he can move around the pocket a bit. And if you ever want to go to a game, let me know and I’ll try to save you a ticket for a game next year. I only plan on going once a year because of the prices.

I appreciate the kind words. Come by anytime and talk about whatever is on your mind.

Ernie, I’ve been saying it for some time now that I’m done with the Cubs until Hendry, Kenney, and Rothschild are GONE! I did not here about Rothschild, but it’s a start. Now to get rid of Dumb and Dumber…

  5. genrebuster Says:

    wait a minute…I’m confused…

Rothschild exercised his option to return, right? Doesn’t that mean that he can return, unless the new manager doesn’t want him…or he doesn’t want to work with new manager?

Quade and Lawrence are reportedly buddies…

Non eof this really matters as the Cubs are doomed to LOSE until Hendry is gone. Ricketts is just another dumbass sheeple…too bad he owns the team. PATHETIC.

  6. erniesarmy Says:

No, you’re right, and I’m wrong.

For some reason I interpreted “exercising his option” as the same as “opting out”.

    Sorry for the dumb mistake.

But, my point stands, the Cubs go nowhere until major, and I mean MAJOR, changes occur in the philosophy of that franchise.

As far as football is concerned, I have a few things I want to get off my chest:

    1. I think the Bears are legit. They have a solid defense and a good enough running game. If they can get their QB situation straightened out, I like their chances this year.

    2. As a Packer fan, I was not buying all the hype in some of the magazines about the Packers going to the Super Bowl; there was even some chump predicting they’d win the whole thing. Ha!

    3. I’m not buying McCarthy as a Head Coach either. This team makes too many mistakes, too many penalties, has no running game, and horrible pass defense. And that falls squarely on the Head Coach. He does not have those guys ready to play football, and the Bear game was a prime example.

    4. Man do I miss the days of Butkus, Nitschzke, Sayers, Ditka, Kramer, Starr, Bufone, Gallimore, and all the other greats during those days when Bear vs. Pack games were an event. I hated, and hate the Bears, but I always admired their toughness and bone crunching defense.

Unlike the Vikqueens, the Bears are a worthy opponent and fun to hate.

    Fro –

I couldn’t agree with you more. Collins is a statue back there. Why Smith wants to play that stiff over someone who can move, who shows some leadership, and inspires confidence in the other players is beyond me.

Ernie, I’m still hoping somebody comes to their senses and pulls the plug on Hendry and Rothschild…enough is enough.

On my last birthday (March) a friend took me out for dinner/drinks …there was a woman sitting next to us – we ate at the bar – with her daughter and a friend…I think she overhead me and my buddy referencing the Cubs/Chicago…etc…she asked me if I knew who Dick Butkus was…”of course!” said I….turns out she is his niece….small world.

Now if only we could push Hendry off the edge….
