Is that the Blackhawks new symbol, or a profile of Herman Cain?

  2. Fro Dog Says:

New symbol Chucky for the dead Blackhawks. They are doing a good job of reminding me how horrible they were in the early-mid 2000’s.

  3. chucky Says:

Yeah, they’re pretty bad right now. The Herman Cain reference was because of a) the “9” below the symbol, and b) aside from the feathers, that symbol looks just like Cains campaign. About 5 years dead.

On the joke meter, they’re at about the same level.

Just heard Gary Carter died from a brain tumor. He was 57. Way too young. I always liked the guy, especially when he was on the Expos. He just seemed like a cool guy to me when I was growing up.

    Hey All,

Yep, 57 is far too young. I turn 50 next month. Back in ’97, I had a heart attack (at the age of 35). It was minor, in the grand scheme of things…but, a heart attack, no less. Well, about 10 days ago, I was feeling something like “electrical impulses” in my chest cavity. They’d only last for a split second and they happened a handful of times (at most) a day. No shortness of breath, no chest pain, nothing but these slight impulses. So, I went to see my doctor last Tuesday and they ran some blood work, did an EKG, and shot a chest X-ray. Everything came back great. It’s been almost 8 years since my last Nuclear Stress Test, so my doc ordered one up; I had that done last Thursday. I performed great throughout that and the technician said everything looked perfect. Later that day, my doc called me and said that the cardiologist saw something that might signal some heart tissue as being “at risk”. So, the next day my wife and I are at the cardiologist’s office. He tells us that he’s not overly concerned, but he wants to keep an eye on things. He says that we may want to go in for a closer look with a heart catheterization sometime in the next 6 months to a year. I looked at him and said, “if that’s what you’re thinking, we should do it sooner…rather than later”. I went in on Monday. They got in and looked at the section of the heart where my heart attack was 15 years ago. He said that everything looked really good there and the section that they opened up back then was performing marvelously. “Okay”, he said, “let’s take a look at the right side of the heart, now”. Well, once he got there, he found some blockage; one area with 60% blockage and another area with 90% blockage. So, on Monday afternoon, yours truly was fitted with 2 stents in the RCA (Right Coronary Artery).
So, what’s my point. Listen to your body. Some of you are in my age group, some of you are younger, and others are much younger. Listen to what your body is telling you. There’s no reason to brush something off and say, “Aw, that’s nothing, just a case of heart burn”. Bullshit. Listen to your body. It will serve you well.
