It looks like Epstein/Hoyer pulled this shit again just like the failed Dempster trade to Atlanta back in July. Unless Haren is hurt, I am already losing my patience with this new regime.
WTF? The Angels didn’t even exercise his $15.5 million option. They just let him walk for nothing. Damnit. I’m getting sick of this trade-WAIT-no-trade shit.
Rotation should be Haren-Garza-Samardzija-Delgado-Wood in 2013. Not great but much better than whatever 4-5 we have now.
Jim Hendry strikes again. What a piece of CRAP. As for Marmol, another wasted roster spot. And why the hell is he tweeting about a trade before it’s finalized? Jagoff. PATHETIC.
Why do I think the Bears are going to blow this game? Maybe because Tice is a fucking idiot and called a passing play with an empty backfield that lead to a turnover and a field goal before the half?
You’re joking, aren’t you? They announce the Dempster trade before clearing it with him, Marmol says he’s traded when he wasn’t. Don’t you think it just might be a good idea to check with a player with a no-trade clause if he wants to go to that team? Don’t you think it might be a good idea to tell your players to keep their fucking mouths shut and stay the goddamned hell away from fucking twitter? That’s how that makes them look like fucking incompetant jagoffs. If you don’t agree then why don’t you go to Bleed Cubbie Blue and tell Yellon about it. Or at least tell your buddy Greg the douchebag.
Remember the words of HHH: Those who tweet are twats.
Are you on twitter Yeti? Have a Facebook page maybe? Wouldn’t surprise me if had both.
What is it supposed to mean if I have Facebook and Twitter? Is it now cool to not have one? Or can your old ass not figure it out, so you have it?
And as far as the Dempster trade, they didn’t officially announce it. It was in place, leaked (like with EVERY OTHER ORGANIZATION in the league), and then Dempster bitched out on it, after he had told the organization he would go to Atlanta.. So fuck him.
Can an organization legitimately shut a player up? I mean, these are grown ass men. They can leak shit to the Dominican media. They can take to twitter about whatever they want to say. An organization can discourage it, fine them, whatever, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t speak to the organization about a player saying something. It speaks to the player.
I’m not happy this trade didn’t happen. From what it seems, Theo/Jed weren’t keen on the money aspect of the deal in the end. I’m not going to profess to know more than these guys who are paid millions to do that job, and have a track record of success. If they weren’t willing to take on the money obligations, it’s a clear indication there’s a change in the mindset, because Hendry would have gladly thrown money at it, regardless of how much it helps the club. These guys won’t. They’re better than what we used to have.
The fact that you guys are already bitching only a year after they came in shows that you have no patience, nor any understanding that it takes a while to right the ship of a ball club, in the correct manner. They could easily just throw money at shit, and likely make a playoff run next year, but then it’ll be 07/08 all over again where they’re hamstrung to do anything the next 4 years.
You dumb bastard. The Dempster trade was leaked? Put down the goddamn crack, bitch. You’ve had more than enough. We aren’t talking about the White House. Every other organization has leaks? Name five, along with examples of what was leaked.
Yes, organizations can keep players quiet. Fine their loudmouthed asses. Hit them hard enough in the wallet and they’ll shut up pretty fucking fast. And don’t sit there and tell me they make too much money. How would you like to shell out $250,000 just because you said something stupid? Hell, if you were forced to do that you could pay off the national debt! With interest.
“From what it seems, Theo/Jed weren’t keen on the money aspect of the deal in the end.” You don’t pay attention very well, do you, numbnuts? THE ANGELS BOUGHT OUT HARENS CONTRACT YOU IGNORANT BASTARD! That means they couldn’t trade him, because they didn’t own him anymore. Gee, maybe Theo and Jed could , I don’t know, GET THE COLLECTIVE SHIT TOGETHER AND AT THE SAME TIME TELL MARMOL TO SHUT THE HELL UP!?!?
I would have more patience if I could see a clearly defined plan in place. All I’ve seen so far, and, not to speak for the other guys here, is the attempt to dismantle what Moe put together (which is a good idea), and at last count, had two trades that didn’t happen and left Theo and Jed with shit on their faces, but nothing so far about what they plan on doing to attempt to rebuild this team. At this point, all I see is a goddamned clusterfuck. And I saw enough bullshit like that during the 70’s.
And for the record, if you are on twitter or facebook, you’re not smart. You’re a fucking geek. You care to explain to me how have an account IS “cool”? I don’t want either one. Not because I’m too old, it’s because I don’t need a psycho ex-girlfriend trying to look me up after 20 or 25 years.
Haren’s deal was about $15 million with Marmol getting around $10. While that’s $5 million more to pay, what you are forgetting is that unless they contend which is doubtful, he would get traded at the deadline. Say he is owed at the time around, $10 million, it evens out with the team while the other team pays the rest of it. They would have been able to trade both him and Garza and the good news out of this? Getting more prospects in return. Contenders are always looking for starting pitching at the deadline so this makes perfect sense to someone who actually knows baseball.
Either they found about an injury that he has or something more bizarre than that. What Chucky said about the failed Dempster trade is 100% valid. This makes the regime look they did something wrong regardless of the outcome.
“Pineda, who turns 23 Wednesday, was not linked to the Yankees — or anyone else, for that matter. So it was a surprise when word leaked about the four-player trade that will be announced sometime this week after the players involved take — and presumably pass — their physicals.”
“Just before the deals were consummated, it was leaked that the White Sox had drawn up a memo sent to the rest of the majors declaring it open season on a handful of available veterans for the Aug. 31 playoff deadline. ”
“Late Thursday afternoon the news leaked out that the Nationals had acquired Gio Gonzalez for a package of players that included RHP’s AJ Cole and Brad Peacock, LHP Tom Milone, and catcher Derek Norris.”
Four situations in which a trade was leaked before the organization officially announced it. I don’t feel like finding a 5th, because fuck you.
“THE ANGELS BOUGHT OUT HARENS CONTRACT YOU IGNORANT BASTARD! That means they couldn’t trade him, because they didn’t own him anymore.”
The Angels bought out the contract because the Cubs pulled out of the trade.
As far as the fines, since you are likely the expert of this, do you know if the MLBPA has rules about the amount of a fine that a team can levy on a player? I don’t know either way, but for a union that has the best deal for it’s players, I wouldn’t be all that surprised if they had something like that… Or, why would a team fine a player 250k if they plan on attracting other players in the future? I think most sane adults wouldn’t like to play for a franchise that fines its players insane amounts of money for posting on twitter. But, I suppose all those players on twitter are geeks, because, you know, that’s what geeks do.
Dumbass…I guess counting to 5 is a skill. One you don’t possess. I already saw the first one about Marmol. In fact I posted about it myself. Nothing new there. The second one somebody should be fined. Yeah, it’s a leak, but not one that should have happened. Numbers 3 and 4, I scanned them quickly. So what? One little piece of info you conveniently left out is those trades actually happened. The leaks had no effect on the trade.
If you fucked me you’d never go back to goats. Bitch.
The Cubs pulled out? Where is your source there, dipshit? I haven’t heard about it. I just heard that the deal didn’t happen.
Maybe they do have fine limits. So what? You care to lose that much money? I wouldn’t. I’d find it alot easier to just KEEP MY GODDAMN MOUTH SHUT. THEY WOULDN’T GET THE FINE IF THEY KEEP THEIR FUCKING MOUTHS SHUT.
And you of all people should know what geeks do.
Goddamn, I hate having a battle of wits with unarmed assclowns like you. So, in closing, go fuck yourself.
OK the Cubs pulled out. And just how fucking stupid is that? At this point if they can get a bag of batting practice balls and a couple of 16 oz. Old Styles for Marmol they should take the fucking deal. The Cubs would be ahead in the deal.
Instead of questioning me or the other guys who come here to vent maybe you’d be better served by questioning why Epstein and Hoyer are doing what they’re doing instead of just having “faith in them”, or “having patience”. We’ve all been down that road before, and I’m personally getting goddamned sick of it. I’ll question anything I don’t like or agree with, and if you don’t like it you can go fuck yourself. All you ever do is sit there and bitch and piss and moan about how all of us are dumb, or bitching about the wrong shit, or not being patient. You’ve haven’t contributed one fucking thing to our discussions that’s worth a flying fuck. If you dislike us so much, just GO THE FUCK AWAY!!!!!!!

Sounds like Carlos Marmol could be on his way out…
November 2, 2012 at 7:40 pm
Marmol has been traded for Dan haren….another valuable piece to flip …this new management team is way smarter than the last one
November 2, 2012 at 7:52 pm
They got Anthony Rizzo for Andrew Cashner last year… Now they get Dan Haren for Carlos Marmol? Um, yeah.
November 2, 2012 at 9:28 pm
From Cubs.com:
News of the deal first broke when Marmol, speaking from the Dominican Republic, told local publication El Caribe that he had been traded.
“I like Anaheim,” Marmol said. “They have talent, and they’ll give me an opportunity. I’m grateful to Chicago.”
Yeah, you dumb fucking headcase asswipe, they have talent. Too bad you don’t.
And to top that off, some dipshit asked this question in the comments section:
Our_time_every_year 23 minutes ago
do you think they will persue jose valverde for bullpen help? even if hes not the closer he could come cheap because of his poor finish.
————————————————————————————-
Goddamn, I swear some people are just too stupid to fucking breathe without instructions.
November 2, 2012 at 10:43 pm
The trade is off.

November 3, 2012 at 8:31 am
Marmol has a no-trade clause?
WHAT THE FUCK??????????????
November 3, 2012 at 10:16 am
Why would Hendry give a player a NTC for a 3yr, 20m contract? That’s beyond idiotic to give Marmol the NTC…

Lol. You don’t have to worry about this game Titans are straight garbage.
November 4, 2012 at 2:47 pm
I wrote that when the Titans scored 10 unanswered and the offense was iffy.
I call it reverse psychology.
By the way Pie, aren’t you living down there near Nashville?
November 4, 2012 at 3:25 pm
Yup… 45 minutes outside of Nashville.
November 4, 2012 at 4:05 pm
Yeti…. you actually have patience because Marmol and Dempster made them look like totally incompetent jagoffs? Bigger wow.
November 4, 2012 at 4:08 pm
How does that make them look like jagoffs

I’ve seen enough baseball to know that Marmol is a waste of money and roster space…a true headcase. Hopefully they can move him.
