Myself and a good friend of mine for the last decade. I went to get a haircut and my beard (By cracky) shaved when we arrived back.

If anybody missed the parade, it was a very fun time but not as good as the one in 2010. Where we were standing, we couldn’t hear what was being said until halfway through. I was in the middle of the crowd like the last time but wish it was down the streets the entire time rather than meet at Grant Park. But a lot of great people that we talked to and there weren’t problems at all. Security was pretty tight and some cops were undercover.
I am sure Chucky liked this but I try not to bring up politics on this site. But the governor and greedy scumbag, Pat Quinn was introduced and the boos were all over the crowd. The boos drowned out what he was saying. Don’t be surprised if that dip shit gets caught in some scandal just like Rod. If that’s the case, it couldn’t happen to a better man. He can rot in hell for all I care.

Nice pics, Fro-thanks for posting. Glad you had a great time.
I watched it all on CSN. 2010 in person was enough for me. If the Cubs bother to win the World Series, I’ll be there, otherwise TV is fine for now. I still got goose-pimply at home.
Guys, am I the only one who feels a bit of anger at the same time as joy? The Hawks winning again makes me so happy and proud, but it does remind me of the fucking Cubs ineptness. Just once, guys. ONCE.
Does anybody know what’s up with Stan Mikita? I did not see him or hear his name mentioned. I hope he’s okay.

Fro….I came across this article today and I thought you and Robert might be interested.

It’s really a sad story. The Iron Shiek has always been one of my favorites. I’m astonished that Vince McMahon hasn’t stepped up and helped him. He did just that for Superstar Billy Graham when Graham needed hip replacement surgery. The Shiek was one of his most loyal employees. There was a pretty strong rumor that after he won the WWF title Verne Gagne approached him with an offer of $100,000 and putting him over Nick Bockwinkel for the AWA title if he would break Hulk Hogans legs during their title match. He also wanted Shiek to bring the WWF title to the AWA and trash it. Obviously, he didn’t do that. McMahon should help him. How many times did he pay for Sunnys drug and alcohol rehab? I certainly hope that he’ll do something.

Coming to LaSalle,IL July 13 “The Steiner Brothers!” http://www.dreamwavewrestling.com then August 3…. DAMN! Ron Simmons!!!
In other news so far the Blackhawks have a decent draft they took Ryan Hartman 1st, another speedy RW to back up the already speedy RW’s and went D with the second pick choosing Carl Dahlstrom, the only thing I know about him is hes a big Swedish guy, If the Hawks can get their D back to where it was in 2010 they will repeat for sure!

The Blackhawks traded away Bolland and Frolik for five draft picks (Four this year and one next year). I have to say I am sad to see both go. I scratched my head at the Bolland trade because he is a center and the Blackhawks lacked a second line center. I guess the good news is that Bickell was resigned as a result. This also opens the door for players like Jeremy Morin and Jimmy “Mayes” Hayes to be a regular in the lineup next season.

Chucky,
That’s a sad story. Vince is pathetic. He funds rehabs for other wrestlers but can’t drop a few thousand (it’s pocket change for him) to help out a guy who busted his ass off for him? Horrible.

So I have to admit due to my team just sucking horrible ass I have not been watching much baseball at all and I just saw the Pittsburg Fucking Pirates have the best record in baseball?? WoW!

And it only took 20+ years. Sure hope that isn’t our fate.

Well look at this. It appears as though Carlos Marmol did have some trade value, however small it may be.
http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/cubs/post/_/id/18008/trades-no-surprise-as-cubs-look-to-future
None of the players sound any good from either the Marmol or Feldman trade. Guess we’ll see.
July 2, 2013 at 10:03 pm
Holy crap…we got more than a bag of peanuts for Marmol? Victory!
Let the fire sale begin…get as much as you can early on because as it gets closer…you get less in return..rebuild the far system and draft good players. Garza should get the most back in return and if they can somehow, get a team to take Soriano for a minor leaguer or just cash, then that’s the best deal possible.
July 3, 2013 at 5:30 am
And the Dodgers sent Marmol to the minors as soon as they got him. Is that ironic, or is that just one of those things that you think is ironic but it actually isn’t?
July 3, 2013 at 5:53 am
Talking about demoting a bad closer, it’s not a coincidence that Brandon League lost his closer job to Kenley Janson just before the Dodgers went 9-1. Oh, and HanRam coming off the DL just before helped too. Seems like the Dodgers are doing all the things the Cubs should have done, with their own players and with Marmol.
