Bulls blew out the Pacers tonight…and no starter had more than a half hour total playing time out on the floor. By cracky, is Thibodeau starting to figure out this thing where you don’t burn your players out?
Well, he isn’t figuring it out. He is being told by Forman and Paxson to stop being an idiot. It’s a shame because he should have been told this in his first year. Even though the minutes have been down the entire year, he still isn’t utilizing his bench. Players like Snell, Murphy, Teague and others should be getting more playing time. They aren’t going to get better at basketball by staying on the bench.
Take this game for example. The Bulls win by 26 and yet, Snell, James, Murphy and Teague did not see the court. Only nine players were in this game when the whole roster should have been used. Cutting the starters minutes is only part of it.
And believe me, that’s not anything new. In 2010 and 2011, the Bulls were winning some games by 25 or 30 and he didn’t bother to put in the bench until late in those games.
Bulls played good lastnight. Thibs was right, it does look allot better when the shots go in. If your the Bulls you have to win that game and its a formidable opponent so I dont think you throw the entire bench out there just yet. I have learned to accept the fact that Fro just hates Tom Thibodeau, I’m hoping a fat piece of hardware changes that in the next couple of years..
