Cutler, Rose and who else am I missing lately? It must be a Chicago thing. Our friend, Pie, mentioned this in the open thread that there are really two options. If he has the minor surgery, he can be back in two months but it could be worse for him down the road. The other surgery will put him out for the rest of the year at the very least. They have to wait until the surgeons get to look inside to see how bad the tear was so there is no guess how bad it is yet.
I was thinking earlier today about Derrick Rose and what his “legacy” could be when he is done playing. It could be Grant Hill all over again. Not to say Derrick Rose would have been hall of fame worthy, but Grant Hill was well on his way to be one of the top ten players of all time in my opinion. He was pretty damn good his first few years. Then, he had an injury and one led to another. He retired last year but I really thought he was going to be great. With this current situation, it’s reminding me of that.
I think when he tore the ACL last year and was cleared to play he lost that first step and knew it. It’s not coming back! Derrick Rose will be an ESPN 30 for 30 in 15 years and that will be his legacy. I think is sad he has to go out like that but reality is a bitch!

Geez. Time to summon a priest, goat and some holy water…(just kidding).
I feel bad for him and the team.
