Why is it that it seems these NFL coaches who are offensively gifted or minded have shit for brains with defense and vise versa? You would think a coach that can draw up great offensive plays can identify what is a pain in the ass for him to try to move the ball on and use that. Is it because all the money is on one side of the ball so you get sub par players on D or can you only think about football one way?

  2. Fro Dog Says:

You would think that. The Bears gave Jared Allen and Willie Young big paydays. Yes, most of the money is still on the offensive side but it’s starting to even out a bit. I think they are going to have spend the next draft entirely on defense.

I think most of us here are already sick of the Bears this year. They have pissed away two of the three losses and in the NFL, that’s what separates the elite from the mediocre. Tucker has to go. So does DeCamillis. The Bears shouldn’t be this shitty on defense two years in a row. That’s on coaching.

In other news, the Blackhawks came back and won their opener.

Did you guys hear, that sack of shit Jerry Angelo hid domestic abuse cases while he was ruining the Bears. Like we needed more of a reason to hate him. Is there a way to fire a person again after you fired him?

  4. SunriseZone Says:

Yes, abdallaha, everyone here reads. Especially headlines about Jerry Angelo. “Did you guys hear…” is very much akin to going back to “I told you so…”

Angelo may be most closely aligned with the team that is the Bears, if for no other reason than, thankfully, he has not worked since. Going back 35 years, however (thank you Wikipedia,) he also worked as a scout for the Cowboys, a regional scout for the Giants, and director of player personnel for the Buccaneers.

The Bears were not singled out by Angelo himself in any statement that he made. Furthermore, as one might expect, Angelo is already backpedaling:

“”I’m not going to say I didn’t say (hundreds) but I was in the emotion of embellishment,” Angelo told USA TODAY Sports on Friday.

“I was using it for all the things that I’ve seen that need to be changed or weren’t right at that time. We were talking about domestic violence. That was part of it, but not all of it.””

Angelo, I suspect, likes his new relevancy. Domestic violence is a horrible, horrible thing. I can’t agree with Ditka’s response that Angelo should “leave it in the past,” except insofar as we are determined to extinguish domestic violence both in the NFL and the society within which the NFL is allowed to operate and profit in the future.
