Bulls take SEC Player of The Year Bobby Portis in the draft

From what I heard on The Score last night, the Bulls, supposedly, have a steal in the draft. He’s only been in college for two years, but it appears to management that he is ready.

I would like to be optimistic about Fred Hoiberg when it comes to using the bench. Portis is going to have to play. I am not expecting him to start but giving the team at least, 20-25 minutes a game is ideal. He’s a power forward and one would think that he would take the place of Joakim Noah, who is very bad at the game of basketball. Let’s pray Portis doesn’t rebound the ball and take it up the court like he is a point guard, only to have it stolen from behind.

There is a possibility he could play center, too. With Noah being so bad at basketball and the uncertainty of Gasol’s health, it’s very much in the realm of possibility. No other team is dumb enough to trade for Joakim Noah (even though he has an expiring contract). I think the Bulls will still have Cameron Bairstow, so that’s an option, too. Tony Snell can play forward, if needed. All of these guys are going to have to play and play well. Some of the idiot fans may have responded to that post with “those guys suck”. Seeing who the last coach of this team was, I think it’s very difficult for someone to get better at basketball when they are always on the bench.

Besides, I highly doubt the Bulls are going to make a run at trading for DeMarcus Cousins or signing Kevin Love. The Bulls will have to play with the cards their dealt. It’s time to find out if the kids can play.

I’d like to see what else the Bulls do during the draft. After that, there’s only the question of how a rookie head coach is going to handle a roster that is half over-the-hill and very fragile veterans, and half young dudes with little to no experience. The Bulls will be fighting to avoid Sixers/Knicks territory this year, unless Hoiberg pulls a few miracles out of his ass.

I don’t know if it will be in Sixers/Knicks territory. Certainly, I could be wrong, but I pray I am not. This “championship window” is about a year or two away from being shut. And speaking of the Knicks, those fans suck. Seeing them at the draft last night acting like idiots was humorous. They deserve that team.

I’m going to miss Brandon Saad, they let a good one get away.

From what I understand, he was asking for way more than what they offered. Unfortunately, they could only offer so much because of the cap.

The Blackhawks picked up a guy in return named Marco Dano, who is suppose to be really good. He has speed and some moves to go with it. They also picked up Artem Anisimov, who played with the Rangers before and former Blackhawk, Jeremy Morin. So they did get some players in return.

Sharp, Bickell and Versteeg are probably on their way out, despite this trade. I think as it stands now, they would be about $7 million over the cap.

To quote Hyman Roth: “…because THIS is the BUSINESS which we have CHOSEN!!!”

The Bulls are scaring me. They held on to Butler and Dunleavy, but they’re not going after anybody in fee agency. Damn, Derrick, would it kill you to TRY to help recruit somebody, or do you seriously think you can carry this broke-ass team all by yourself?

Next year is going to suck for the Bulls: Rose is broken and in IDGAF mode, most of the veterans are sore/hurt/broke, the younger guys are inexperienced, rookie head coach who will be respected by nobody, no free agents and only one rookie from the draft.

    Bruuuh…fuuuuuck.

Hyman Roth? DVX, that was outstanding! Now I feel like watching “The Godfather” again. Just the first two, number three sucked.

Derrick Rose is a pud whack. He’ll never go out of his way to help recruit. He did have some influence on getting Gasol here, but I think that was limited. Besides, when his contract is up, he’ll be gone. At least I hope he’ll be gone. Personally, I’m sick and tired of his whole routine. He’s nothing but a fucking drama queen little bitch prima donna. Time to cut bait and move from him.
